Meh. Food was just ok. We really liked the chille relleno but everything else was either just ok or not good. The salsa they give you with chips is a pretty spicy thin liquid. It's really good, but it's more of a salsa you'd put on something. Not a great one for chips. read more

This was an amazing stop for dinner! The food was tasty and the service good. We were seated near the front door which was not ideal seeing there was lots of traffic. Went to La Puente with a friend. Neither of us had been. We sat down & ordered pretty quickly. The menu is decent sized. Everything has priced well. Chips & salsa were good. I thought the salsa was a little spicy, good flavor. I had the bean tostadas, which I didn't understand it came with two of them. They were decent & portion size was pretty big. The rice was really good! My friend ordered the enchiladas. I tried the red enchilada sauce, I wasn't a big fan of the enchilada sauce they had. Not a super fancy place, everything seemed clean. Sorely disappointed. We love the location in Layton and thought all La Puente restaurants would be the same. I love the Chorizo hard shell tacos. These in Centerville came out pathetic. The shells were burned. Not much meat to speak of and the side of rice and beans was not very hot. We wondered why this location did not have very many diners as Layton does, and now we know why. Definitely will stay with Layton. If this had been our first encounter with La Puente we would not be back. read more

Had one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My wife found a piece of raw chicken in her enchilada. We asked for the waitress to come over and look at it. The waitress came over and denied it.. she said it was boiled chicken. I said why doesn't it look like the rest of the chicken. She just kept saying that it was impossible. She didn't offer any type of discount or to replace the meal with another item. She took my card and charged it then didn't bring back a receipt. My wife and I have always enjoyed the food at La Puente and we were not disappointed today as we ate at their new location in Centerville. I had the smothered burrito and my wife had the taco and enchilada. Just as good as the old place. Also ordered some fries. They're freshly made and awesome. I do agree with the other post in regards to the decor, it is nothing special, white walls, a sombrero or two hanging on the wall and some used booths and tables. Bottom line, we go there for the food and good prices so we were happy with everything. They do have my favorite chips and salsa. Overall we had a good experience there today. I went to La Puente with my husband and son. The food was "meh". Our son said that his food was the worst thing he'd ever tasted. My husband managed to gag down his food. The chips were fine. The "salsa" was in a ketchup bottle. I could actually taste the ketchup! Gross. As my husband said, we now have la puente out of our systems. read more

Other people have reviewed this place and said it tastes pre made and heated up or there is only a little bit of chips or the salsa was in a ketchup bottle but I have been to La Puenta at least a dozen times or so and I have never had any of these issues. During covid many Mexican restaurants downgraded their ingredients because of the economic crash and high demands for certain foods. La Puenta did not change their ingredients and it stayed just as good. Tried to use an expired groupon for the amount paid for the groupon. It supposedly never expires. Apparently, it does expire. La Puente Centerville refused to honor it even though the waitress said yes, its good. Disappointed in the establishment. Used the excuse they had moved. Even so, it is the same proprietor. Food was ok, enchilada sauce tasted dark. THey were very skimpy on the nachos. My daughter liked the Huevos. La Puente in SLC on State Street has better food and not so chincy. Not our cup of tea... tried this place for a quick lunch earlier last week. The place was kind of dirty and had to wait for a table to be cleared even though they weren't very busy. Took my kids there for dinner tonight. We are frequent customers. Our smother did. Not taste right it was nasty had no flavor. Usually it is really good which is why we go there a couple times a week. I told the waiter. He went back and tasted it in the kitchen came back and agreed it was not made correctly. I told him I was not going to pay for it because we werent going to eat it. The other waitress came out and said that we had to pay for it. I am not paying for something that was not edible. She said it is only missing salt that wasnt added to it when made in the kitchen and there was a salt shaker on the table so just put that on it. Mind you This had happened 2 other times with their refried beans where the cook did not add salt to them when he made thwm so they tasted like water and bitter. Hmthe waitress told me tonight that their cooks are hit and miss and it only needs salt and there is a shaker on the table. If we didnt want to eat it still we had to still pay for it. I told her I wasnt going to pay for something that wasnt cooked correctly and not edible ... she told us that is fine than dont pay for it but you are not welcome back.
