1/2 asada 1/2 cabeza plate with salsas from the salsa bar. Everything was delicious. Comes with tortillas too

Amazing! As a Mexican, I may be a little more critical about Mexican food. This place hits the spot. I wish it was busier than it is because it deserves to be busy. Generous servings, tasty meats, delicious sides, and homemade salsas. We tasted the asada, cabeza, and buche which are all top notch. Can't recommend the other meats since we haven't tasted them yet. Huge plus is you're supporting a Mexican families local business by dining here. The whole family will eat happily.

Carne asada taco (you can choose your filling)

Excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price! Had to do their takeout as they were close to closing, but all was delicious and generous in portions. I ordered their two best seller's: Enchiladas de pollo en Salsa Verde and one Taco (I chose steak/asada for the ingredient). The chicken enchiladas entree actually comes with three in total (and also includes Spanish rice, refried beans, lettuce and sour cream on top). The taco comes with two corn tortillas and your choice of filling. Was very impressed with their food and definitely will be back again! Side note: The tacos are so delicious buy more than one as I wish I had! Also came with plenty of condiments: guacamole, onions, cilantro, red and green sauce, and pico. Muy bueno

We came here for dinner on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. My husband likes to come here for lunch since it's convenient and most of the teenagers on break from school don't come here. It was my first time and I was excited to try it. It's family run and I always like to support family businesses. I had the pollo plate and it was just okay. I'm usually a big fan of rice and beans, but there really wasn't a whole lot of flavor to them, or my whole meal. The chips and salsa were good, and I liked the fact that there was a station to customize your food with different salsas and pico, etc. which made the meal better thankfully. Maybe I just need to try a different item, but I kept wishing that we had just gone to Chipotle or Nacho House instead.

Stopped by El Dorado for lunch and some street tacos. El Dorado is always a solid choice and makes really good tacos. I ordered one of each of the following. - Asada steak. This was my favorite, good flavor, a little crispy, which I like. - Barbacoa, good flavor, but really sloppy, the juices and grease overwhelmed the tortillas and it all fell apart. - Pastor, I'm spoiled by chungas, with a little pineapple added and Luna Del Mar in SLC, and this wasn't as flavorful. - Carnitas, again too juicy and tortilla fell apart. Wife ordered Flautas, chicken and beef. No cheese or sauce, so a little dry, but not bad. Avocados was a nice add. I dipped them in the green salsa and thought they were good. Chips and salsa, the chips were warm and salty. The salsa bar was clean and fresh and allows you to customize your tacos. All in all, really good, but not great.

Paletas!

I love family owned restaurants. And I love that the Paz family is serving up street style tacos here in Bountiful. Mama Paz is the head chef while Papa and son Jose are taking care of business up front. But the reviews set the bar pretty high, and my experience didn't quite match on this first visit. I found the carne asada tacos a bit flavorless, dry, and also somehow fatty at the same time. They were fine, but not memorable. I appreciated the fresh salsa bar, which makes it easy to dress up your meal just the way you like it. For dessert, they have flan and tres leches from Juan Pablo's bakery in Orem, which I haven't tried. They also have a freezer full of La Michoacana paletas, all varieties. I'd like to give this place another shot, perhaps on the weekend when food may have been prepared fresh. Im always hoping for great local places to eat in Bountiful, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for a better experience next time.

Wow. So happy I finally tried this place. What a fantastic place to get great Mexican food. Food - the food is so on point and tasty. My favorite was the chicken quesadilla. It was seriously so delicious. If you want some really tasty Mexican food then hit this place up. Service - the service was perfect and so nice. Really appreciated how lovely the service was here.

Giant burritos! Everyone in our group loved it. Only complaint was the pork was a bit fatty.

The restaurant doesn't look like much located in a small shopping center, but the food is fresh and delicious! So glad we stopped in!

Food has never been spectacular - just average. Prices are pretty high for average Mexican food.

The food we had was really good. The smothered burrito is popular for a reason. Sometimes I just…read morewant generic Mexican food you can get in a combo plate (as in a super cheesy enchilada with a taco or tamale or whatever right next to it). This fills that need. The service and atmosphere are a little weird though. The menu is confusing and needs to be explained. When we tried to order a combo plate we were told not to and to find something else. After he explained it, it made sense. But the menu was not clear that it just included one specific type of each item listed, and you didn't get a choice. It was awkward when he teased us for thinking we could get choices at the listed price. We felt a little out of place the whole time we were there, but we would go back now that we understand how the menu/food works, since it was good. Oh yeah, we were also confused about the chips and salsa and the way things were set up here. They bring you an empty bowl and then you squirt the salsa out of a bottle (like a ketchup bottle) into it. No one explained any of these weird things, and we kind of just looked around. The waiter described it as a place for truckers and locals. That's makes sense.

I review restaurants with my OAT method:…read more O= Overall experience - This place is very nostalgic because I grew up coming here with my grandparents. I honestly am not a huge fan of smothered burritos and enchiladas which is what they are known for. I go for a basic kids cheese quesadilla and hits the spot. They have really good homemade tortillas that have always been my favorite. A= Appearance - It's a more run down place and nothing fancy. The service is good. They brought the food out quickly. T= Taste - I am not a fan of their chips and salsa. They have the salsa on the table in a ketchup bottle that you can just refill your salsa bowl with, which means it's not a fresh salsa. They also have a spicy seasoning on their chips that I do not like. My parents usually get the smothered burrito and have expressed that it is bland.
