We've been to this location three times and and have had good experiences all three times. Every time we go the drive thru had no cars so we order right away, we do have to wait a bit for our food but it always comes to us fresh and hot. Randomly pulled in here off the highway to grab some food along my 12 hour road trip. I ordered a Texano burrito (chicken, diced potato, onion, cheese, sour cream) because it looked different than any burrito I've ever had. The portion size was massive and lasted me two meals. Super flavorful and warm! Also got a side of chips and guacamole. Chips were definitely fresh, warm and not overly salty. This place is extremely disgusting and disappointing. My wife got some food from them last week, got a taco/bowl and I am almost 100% sure the meat they put in there was Friskies wet cat food. It smelled like it, tastes like it and even looked like it. You know the saying, "if it smells like, and tastes like it, it is it." 30 minutes after eating the food, she started to get a headache and feel nauseous. She had to take some pepto before bed. At 3 am, she woke up with stomach cramps and a fever. She spent the next 3.5 hours at the toilet throwing up everything she ate along with some stomach bile. This place is fairly new, having replaced Taco Maker, it's probably been open about a month or so. The restaurant retains much of the previous fast food chain's interior but that's not all that important. The ordering process is smooth and mostly quick. The staff was friendly and helpful. The portions are very satisfying! And the food pleasantly tasteful, much more hardy than say, Taco Bell across from them. It's almost, *almost*, sit down restaurant quality food in a fast food environment. Almost. Overall the place is tidy and clean. We came in at the end of the day and felt the place to be well kept. We have been trying New taco shops since our favorite in SLC (Gualberto's) shut down. We tried one of their other locations but wasn't as good as the SLC location was. So we decided to try this one on Sunday June 26, 2022. I walked in and the lady at the cash register was very nice and told me that the Carne asada fries and breakfast burritos were the most popular. I wanted carne asada chips, and was told "so, nachos?" So I ordered the nachos with no dairy. I also asked for the carne asada to be extra charred (flavor). The food came out REALLY fast, which was great! It was also nice that they had the salsa bar out...haven't seen any place with that since Covid started....yay! We got a couple hot carrots, and their spicy red hot sauce. About the food... Carne Asada chips - huge! Tons of meat plopped on top, but it was a little weird how they layered it. Chips, then beans, then pico de gallo, then guacamole, then a huge amount of beef on top. I am allergic to dairy, so no cheese or sour cream or me (so sad). The pico was really good, also the guacamole. They said they only put avocado and pico in it...so that is great and fresh tasting. The beans were meh, and the beef, while there was a lot of it, it was just okay on flavor. The beef was salty for my taste, but my husband thought is was slightly better than I thought. The meat was not charged at all. It was almost like it had been steamed. The spicy hot sauce was good too - but probably super spicy for most people. I loved it, but my husband thought it was crazy spicy and was sweating! The hot carrots were good, basic and a little sweeter than I prefer. They were also softer than I prefer, but we liked them well enough. About the restaurant... It was not busy and very clean. Had restrooms available without having to ask for a key or code (which was nice). People were friendly too. Overall, it was not bad, but not my favorite. We will be back, but probably not often if we find a better place. We have definitely had worse, but have had much better. Good value of quantity, quality for the price. The food here is horrible! We ordered for the second time and it is flavorless. I got tacos that were supposed to come with sour cream, guacamole and salsa. I got lettuce. If you order a chimichanga plate you get all sort of rice and beans and other good stuff if you order a grilled chicken plate you get so dissatisfied with a clam shell with just grilled chicken burrito filling for $11. They made us the burrito super quick & let us keep the fries too. Just like most places they are under staffed and the drive through line is always long so we don't hold it against them for making one mistake! They were very kind & just trying to do their best! 4 stars for the food only.. the whole time we (sister and I) were there, there was an older Hispanic man that worked there (on his break) getting really close to us and talking about where we were from, and asking about where we live in SLC, our age, and he wanted details that were none of his business. After we got our meal, we went outside so he wouldn't come sit and talk with us any longer- which lasted all of about 10 minutes when he got his food and come outside and gave us hugs before he sat in his car for another 10 min and left. I ordered a carne asada torta and they seem to wrap and put everything inside a plate, Thus getting soggy. Key idea here is "You toast the bread, then wrap it inside foil or served separately away from moisture. Also get a different torta bread maker. Girlfriend had the enchilada plate and rolled tacos and order was cold and had to reheat in mircrowave and cheese not melted. also Get a different red chili sauce. Try alternatives. tacos dont have any seasoning just plain chicken and tortilla. Also rolled taco container was given burnt with burnt holes. My husband and I have been there several times since the reopening. Everytime the food has been Luke warm. The cheese in the chille relleno was not melted even after asking them to cook it longer.. The cheese on top of beans and the chilles again not melted. We took a meat thermometer and measured the temp. The highest temp was on the beans one time at 105. Everything else was less than that. Had to put everything the microwave to make it edible. We have been trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Tried one last time today. Ordered the tamale dinner. Got it home (1 mile away) once again everything was luke warm. I'm not sure how the restaurant gets away with selling under cooked food.
