I have been here 2x & both times there were things I had issues with. 1st visit, went on an extremely hot day & we sat on the stools by the windows. It was mid afternoon so the heat was peaking @ that time....and it only kept getting hotter. Not sure why a small coffee shop like that chose to keep the doors closed. It got really hot in there that my friend & I had to leave & sat on the chairs out front. It was actually cooler outside b/c of the circulating air than it was in the coffee shop. I wasn't expecting any apology or anything but they could have come around and let people know thier A/C had broken down that day. I wasn;t won over by the first visit. 2nd visit, this past weekend, totally different weather and I ordered a "Frosty" which was a white hot chocolate. Shoulda stuck to what I prefer (reg. hot chocolate). It was beyond awful. Didn't even taste like any kind of chocolate. If they make it w/ milk as opposed to water, you couldn't even taste a milk base. The taste was just very off. I'm no Dunkin person but when they had their white HC, I would take that in a heartbeat over this poor beverage. @ $6, it's def pricey so it needs to be good (Starbucks HC is not as much but do they make a mean HC-yum!) not to mention I tipped $1 too, which I generally don't do @ chains. Sad to say b/c of these experiences, I will not be returning to purchase anything to eat from here nor will I be recommending anyone else to do so in the area. Award for worst latte. $7, not including tip, for a small latte full of foam. I don't mind paying for a great or even good beverage, but this was like drinking whipped foam. My drink was done before I got to my car. There are too many coffee places around. This was disappointing. read more

This coffee shop does not feel welcoming to foreigners or diversity inclusive. It's cozy enough, and we went several times, but will not be returning. Just saw the owner's rather lengthy response. As much as I sympathize I am not the customer in question and find the response a little mind boggling. Perhaps another foreigner happened to venture into this coffee shop? This must be their story. On my end, I simply did not find the rather enormous American flag welcoming. It's up in the warmer months and practically blocks the window view. I've lived just two blocks away from Jersey Java, off and on, since high school in the 90's. Back when it was Cafe Seattle, then Three Beans, and now for the last 10+ years Jersey Java. Needless to say, I've been here countless times over the years and I'm a big fan. It's a really nice, cozy space with great atmosphere. The gas fireplace and the small, cushioned bench in the corner are nice touches. Not a whole lot of indoor seating but plenty of outdoor tables during the warmer months. During the pandemic they added the small market on one side of the counter where they previously had additional seating. Lots of fancy items here. I got my girlfriend a bottle of high end bloody mary mix that she loved. I can't speak to the coffee since I'm not a coffee drinker, but my girlfriend likes it. My eight-year-old son doesn't care for the hot chocolate; he says it's too bitter. I enjoy the assortment of teas and chai, and their baked goods are top notch. Overall a nice place to meet friends or hang out and get some work done. read more

This was my second attempt to give this café a fair shot, and it'll be my last. I ordered a small, lifeless quiche and a single-size latte...$16 with tip. I don't mind paying for quality, but there wasn't any. While I was ordering, an employee poured a drink for a local who then cut in front of me to pay, without so much as an "excuse me." The quiche was oily and bland; the latte was lukewarm and flavorless, even though I asked for vanilla. Pretty sure they forgot it. This was my favorite spot to shoot pool more than a dozen years ago when it was 3Beans. Well today my son had an appointment a couple doors down so we popped in on the way back to the car. The fireplace was going, the couches look just as comfortable as they used to be and I loved all the new colorful options on the menu. I got a hot coffee (5*, it was the perfect blend), a chocolate croissant that was flakey and fluffy and reminded me of a trip to Paris a million years ago, and my son was rewarded a marshmallow snowman pop for being good at the doctor's. Anywho, the main reason I'm writing this review is the gem of a guy behind the bar. Friendly and concise service, and asked me with such genuine earnest about how I was doing that I turned to look behind me and said Are you talking to me? Thank you for sharing the positive vibes which made my day, coming from someone who feels surrounded by chaos and invisible half the time! 10/10 will be back. Disclaimer: more my personal preference, than business specific My first time at Jersey Java was hit and miss. Stopped in on a Thursday morning around 9a. I was surprised by the long line and seeing only one person working during peak hours. Maybe someone called out, so no judgement there. The indoor and outdoor seating sections were both very nice. Plentiful indoor seating with a window bar area for computer users and all of the outdoor seating had nice umbrellas and some shades tree cover which was very nice. Not the businesses fault, but the street is incredibly busy and made the outdoor seating not very relaxing or chill as you would want for an early morning coffee. It's probably better later in the afternoon. I ordered a pepper quiche, banana chip muffin and a cold brew. The cold brew was a little less smooth than I'm used to (I order mine black with no sweetener). The Starbucks and Saxbys cold brew are definitely better options nearby. The banana chip muffin was really good, lots of fun mini chips and a good balance of banana flavor (not too much, but you can tell it's a banana muffin). Where they really whiffed was with the quiche. Compared to other places I've ordered quiche, they didn't look particularly appealing and, while flavor was solid, when I ordered mine heated up it was pretty watery and not a great texture overall. I was pretty disappointed with it overall. I'll consider going back in the future to give it another chance, but there are a bunch of other great coffee spots nearby that limit the opportunities for a spot like this. read more

Great local spot! I've been wanting to try this place for a while but haven't had the opportunity until recently. It's off the main street but it's def worth the trip. They have unique seasonal specials (ex. s'mores hot cocoa, pumpkin latte). I stopped by with my dog (kept outside - no dogs allowed) and even though they didn't have a pup cup on the menu, the barista was able to make me one. They have a good amount of space on the inside and out. Inside, a lot of people were working/hanging out so it would seem like a nice productive place to spend some time. read more

Have been going to this coffee shop forever but today met the owner and her coffee friends. Had a blast talking to them about all things life. Such a friendly group to invite a "stranger" to sit with them for coffee. I wish more shop owners were this accepting. I also loved her huge flag hanging on the outside of the shop. I love a person who wants to show her support for freedom, freedom for all! Our coffee conversations were about so many interesting topics and the tolerance and loving spirit she showed me and others in conversing just gave me renewed hope in our little slice of the world here. I came here on a weekend, and there was street parking available around the shop. The place was packed - it was tough to find a seat open that day. The drinks themselves were good enough - they have holiday specials up on the board but no descriptions as to what they are. The person who served us was very unfriendly and acted like we were inconveniencing her by asking what the specialty drinks were (since there were no descriptions or actual flavors listed on the menu or on the board). I would probably not come here again just because of my personal experience. read more

This place is a great edition to the Haddon Township area. I first stumbled upon this place upon checking out apartments as I was planning to leave Center City Philadelphia and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this coffee shop. It really does belong in the city with how high-quality it is. Though the food is great like their quiche and their muffins and the drinks are as well -though overpriced- the best part is the workers. They're happy to be there, they're happy to serve you, and they're pleasant- unlike the people at Grooveground Coffee about 15 minutes away. There is a great community atmosphere at this coffee shop and I believe they do spend time mingling with the local community which is off the charts a great thing in my opinion. I often come here to study especially when the weather is great as their outdoor seating area is satisfying. Though I will suggest if you're going to sit outside and need Wi-Fi, to sit right outside the main entrance as off to the side Wi-Fi is non-existent. I do recommend their quiche although they are expensive. They're closer to $7.50 for a slice, but it is very satisfying. Goat cheese and red pepper is the way to go. read more

Cute shop but not really sure if the drinks are on point. Came here for a change of scenery from the every day work from home dullness. Found parking on one of the side streets and were able to walk on site without issue. Inside, masks are enforced and when we went, indoor dining was not an option. Overall, it's a nice little shop aesthetically, lots of windows and charm creating that cozy corner coffee shop vibe. The workers were very polite and allowed us to take our time going through the menu and making our choices. We got a latte and a cold brew and a muffin to share. Nothing too spectacular from the drinks or bakery item. I also noticed that they have other local areas' items for sale - like quiches and bagels. We had arrived here late afternoon, so all the bagels were all sold out, so coming here in the morning may be a better idea. We sat outside while dining, and I found it surprisingly chill. The outdoor space is a pretty spacious and even though the street is pretty busy with foot and car traffic, we didn't feel too confined. COVID review: masks required while inside but can take off when seated at their outdoor seating. There are many areas where you can use sanitizer and they have a station with paper towels and cleaner to use to wipe your area down when you leave. Might give this place one more whirl and aim for a morning time visit but not itching to go back for the time being. read more

I still like coming here, nice vibe and friendly staff (contrary to what a few other reviewers have said) but they replaced half the space with a "market" area - I'm guessing that must be a lucrative option for them but I can't say I've ever felt the need to browse any of the gifty food items there, it feels like just a lot of upselling. My bigger issue is the amount of people who now use this as their personal office is really crazy. The last time I was there I noticed they put signs out about not using your laptop but everyone seemed to be ignoring it. I understand coming to do some work on your laptop but people use it for 4-person business meetings and the woman at the table next to me spent the whole time making phone calls to clients, all at full volume. I gotta say, for dining in this is one of the best in the area. The seating area is a decent size, and while it can get busy at times there is usually a seat either inside or outside. They have a good policy for managing laptop users by requesting they sit at the long bar table to free up seats for conversation. Wifi is available and decent prices overall. Street parking is usually available within a block or two. Coffee was decently okay - I had a cappuccino and while it wasn't the best espresso I've had(admittedly I have an obsession finding local roasted coffee so it was very standard), the service was great and friendly. Had a decent menu of some pastries, quiches and other goodies as well as a large selection of bottled beverages in a fridge. read more
