The bakery is in this shopping center and the parking lot was pretty full when I arrived Sunday afternoon. I agree with the reviewers that this place is small. I felt that I wanted to take my time looking at items but the space felt crowded while looking. Overall they had many options to choose some but there were some empty looking shelves in the far back. I managed to get a few items to try and a slice of cake. There are kiosks to also order drinks. The line was long but moved quickly. The items I tried: Cheesy hot dog: pretty good! very sweet bread with a tiny hot dog. White Chocolate strawberry: delicious strawberry filling. The bun was soft and not overly sweet. Berry bun: I got the very last one! DELISH! The bun of milky, soft and berry filled. My favorite probably. Taro bun: HUGE! Love the taro paste but the bread was alittle off since there was seeds in it. Not loving that texture Tiramisu cheesecake: very good fluffy cheesecake. Would have liked more tiramisu/coffee flavor. Chocolate bun: Another favorite. Very good chocolate fudge on the inside. Wish I bought 10 of theses. Egg tarts: I got the two pack. Wish I got the full box (maybe next time). Drove by Cherry Hill to have lunch and saw 85C Bakery. We are very familiar with this chain in the west coast and decided to pick up some Marble Taro for my son who lives in Queens with no 85C Bakery close by. This store is relatively small compared to other 85C I have seen, but it is very pleasant. The various kinds of bread and pastries were very well stocked and placed in close proximity to each other. All the choices seemed so attractive. They had a good selection of cakes on display, and also served drinks. I picked up some Marble Taro buns and a Taro Mochi Boroh which seemed to be a new product. Everything was delicious as usual. The Taro Mochi Boroh has a crunchy Boroh crust and taro and mochi filling which was a nice combination. Service was very efficient and friendly. Holy moly I mean my sister was raving about how amazing this bakery was but it was even better than she described. The cheese bread and the pork floss buns are the standouts. When we first arrrived there was only one pork floss bun left. The bakers told us it would be about 15 min so we grabbed a few things to taste and sat in the car to wait. I can't even describe what I experienced. The buns were super soft but had an amazing chewiness as well. Not too sweet. Just perfection in each bite. After 15 min of taking a piece of each pastry, a flood of people walked in and I was like oh no they better not take all of the pork floss bun. I have come here often for a morning pastry treat. A huge selection of different flavors and plenty of options await you depending on what you're craving. They also have cakes for birthday celebrations that you can order... either an entire cake or just a single slice. So, there is plenty to choose from and plenty of customers too. I've never -not- seen this place busy, which speaks to its popularity and quality! Even fifteen minutes before they close there is still a steady stream of customers coming in! Although the best time to come here is perhaps right when they open. I've noticed it somewhat less busy in that first hour. At least on Sundays. 85 also has plenty of delicious drink choices too. During my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect so I picked up a few random things and ordered a smoothie. The smoothie I ordered was delicious and clearly made with fresh ingredients. My first time trying 85 degrees Bakery was when I was in Texas. It was a huge store with a lot of cheap Asian pastries. To my disappointment, this store in NJ is very small. I came on Sunday afternoon and lots of trays were empty. The line was long but moved fast. There were only chocolate mousse cake . No other options of cake. Even the sliced individual cake was pretty much sold out. Only 2 slices of macchiato cake. I grab one of it. I love the price of the pastries here, so affordable and won't hurt your bank account. After I paid the goodies that I could grab, I saw that they had just put several boxes of fresh and warm egg tarts. I snagged a box and in a minute, they were sold out. I ate those egg tarts right away in the car. The shell was so butter and crispy. The custard was creamy with perfect sweetness. I highly recommend this even if you have to wait. It's worth it. The red bean bun is ok, good amount of ref bean fillings. My other favorite is the chocolate bun because it has fudge filling. Perfect for chocolate lovers. This store has more unique varieties that are not available at the other well known Asian pastry stores . I agree with another reviewer that there's an issue with restocking the product. The store is small and considering the amount of people that come in and out, it can get alittle crowded but the lines move fairly quickly. We ordered a variety of savory bread, pastries, and cake to try and they were all 10/10. We did also order a mango strawberry smoothie with 25% sweetness which was good but after awhile there was a separation between the liquid and "solid" which was alittle off putting. I am more than thrilled that we have our first 85c bakery near Philly! It is in Cherry Hill, and convenient located in the same plaza as S-Mart, and other Asian businesses. Compared to Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jour (both Korean bakeries) 85c (Taiwanese bakery)'s price point is very affordable. All of their pastries (savory, and sweet are nice). My personal favourite is the Taiwanese pineapple cake (more like pineapple filled butter shortbread). When you go in you can see workers continuously baking and packaging the pastries; there is a separate counter to pick up your drinks after you order from a kiosk. The workers at the cake counter (and also where you pay) are helpful and professional. The one big downside to this store is their size. It is small, and since the drink order kiosk is right when you enter it gets backed up. Also, people waiting for their drinks have to wait around the pastry aisles so it is difficult to maneuver around. I understand 85c took over whatever business it was there, but I wished they spend a bit more money and enlarged the area. There is no place to sit and eat either. Very clean and with great music. The breads were fresh and I really loved being able to grab what I wanted from the shelves instead of pointing at a case awkwardly. This hidden gem in Cherry Hill was so clean, bright and well organized! So many goodies to choose from! All well priced and individually packaged. The cakes in the case looked so delicious and fresh. They also have an expansive drink menu including oolong tea, green tea, etc. I tried a Thai iced tea. The cashier informed me that I could adjust the sweetness by 50% or 25%. I went with 25% and it was so good. It's a shame there's no seating. It would be nice to sit inside or outside and sip and snack. 85 is quite small but has plenty of selections to choose from! Drinks are ordered via a kiosk or the register, there are plenty of pastries to choose from, either sweet or savory. They aren't too terribly priced when considering similar bakeries like Paris Baguette, Tous Les Jours, and local mom/pop Chinese bakeries. I ordered the Tiger Boba which was probably the best boba I've had so far. The boba is soft, caramelized, and the milk tea itself was amazing. I personally tried the Borroh Danish and got the Ube Cake for my girlfriend's sister. The Danish itself is soft and the crust, reminiscent of the pineapple bun offered by Chinese bakeries, is more crispy in comparison but less sweet. I didn't know the cream version existed since it wasn't available during my visit but the cream version or even a custard version would benefit it by breaking up the bread. The Ube Cream Cake unfortunately, looks amazing and is priced competitively to other bakeries that offer cake but for some reason, it was frozen when we cut it open. We preordered this cake the night before, picked it up around 12:30PM the next day, placed it in the fridge for about 4-5 hours but it still came out frozen. We weren't given any thawing instructions nor did we expect to have to thaw a cake, which was strange. I did reach out to customer service and according to them, the cakes are baked and then flash frozen. When we cut into it, the cake and outer cream layer was soft but the brulee cream and ube cream were ice cold. I wish I could fully taste it but at the time, it just tasted like ice. I hope to give 85C another try in the future because the borroh danish wasn't the best but the pastries seem to rotate and I haven't tried the savory pastries yet. My family members did enjoy the variety of pastries I bought for them though, like the normal brioche, the ube bread, mango custard, and others. What a pleasant surprise inside as there are wide selection of fresh baked rolls and pastries, all costing $2-$3 each. The hot coffee and Vietnamese ice coffee are delicious as well. This place was amazing. I cannot compare it to the Paris Baguette because it is too different. I couldn't get a picture of the sweet iced coffee with coffee jelly because it was taken by my daughter. The only complaint would have been that I needed a Boba straw but luckily we have travel utensils that has one. The pastries were delicious. We had a crunchy croissant and a butter bun that did not make it to the car. lol.. We also bought a Classic Tiramisu cake it was wonderful!!! I just wish it had more of a coffee flavor. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy!! The good news is that there is plenty of parking compared to the other side of the plaza which was packed. The store itself is small and there is no sitting area. The self order iPad was out of order when I went. As you go in the bakery, you grab a tray and start packing it with all yummy breads and bake goods. The shelves had repetitive breads. Some of my favorite ones were the coconut twist and the taro bread although I wasn't a big fan of the green tea and red bean roll. Once you grab all of your goodies, you line up to pay and order drinks while at it. Once you are done, wait to grab drinks in the back. Overall, the breads were yummy. After my friend told me about this place, I couldn't wait to try it. You walk in and it smelled wonderful. You order drinks at the kiosk- the toffee latte was good. It was so hard to choose the pastries because everything looked so good. But these baked goods were perfect to celebrate my kid's bday because they don't use peanuts there. Yay! PLEASE keep it that way- it's so hard to find delicious pastries for those with peanut allergies. I 'd their coconut milk bun and matcha choco bun, and my kid loved the white chocolate strawberry bun. The cakes were all very tasty too. I finally was able to get into the bakery and see what the fuss is all about. It is bright and cheery inside, with many bakery racks of items to choose from. It is self service, but don't let this fool you into thinking there isn't anyone to assist. The bakery has many people in the back who are constantly filling the racks and asking if you need help.
