I had the pleasure of dining here on a Friday just before the crowd arrived. They have live music every Friday starting at 6:30 PM, which creates a great atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect for a ladies' night, date night, or even a reservation for a larger group. The entrées were delicious, authentic, fresh, and beautifully presented. We had the lamb chops and the cod, and both were excellent. The fresh natural limeade was also very refreshing. The owners, chef, and staff were polite, friendly, and professional. Ordered take out from here recently, and over all I'd say the food gets an okay. Empanadas and chicken tacos were pretty good and the price was right on those. However, we also ordered their highly recomended chicken mofongo and.. it was not good at all. For one, for the amount of actual food you get it is NOT worth $27. Lets get that out of the way right off the bat. Dish is highly overpriced. The chicken was VERY dry. Like, need to take a sip of a drink every single bite dry. That alone made the dish bad, but then we tried the rest and it was bland and also.. dry? idk, dish wasn't good at all . Very overpriced, and I would never get or recommend someone order that ever again. Another minor issue, on their take out menue they have a bunch of coupons. One was for $5 off orders over $30 or something like that. i asked to use it, despite there being an expiration date of 12/31/25 on it. I figure, 'you're putting these out still, so you must still be honoring this coupon, right?" NO. The host asked a manager and they said they "shouldn't have put those menus out.' But you did.. so you honor the coupon. That's business 101. Fair, I guess? But just for some business advise.. it's $5 off for a first time customer that would have potentially come back and even told others to do so. Not now though. Another tale of two experiences between the Misses and I. *I* particularly like Cafe Nitido; the wife said she will wouldn't go back. *shoulder shrug emoji*. Let's discuss.... First, the place is very nice on the inside; spacious, clean, relatively quiet. The servers were nice, (a little awkward, but nice...), and the food was delicious. I decided to go with the chicharrones mofongo, and the Misses got the salmon. We got a side of fried plantains to split. I was a little worried watching other peoples mofongos coming out, because although beautifully plated, the helping looked small. But, it was more than enough food. The plantains were more than a little over, (aka burnt,) but they tasted ok nevertheless. The Misses enjoyed her salmon, but was QUITE upset that the meal came with white rice instead of yellow. She says that she specifically asked for yellow, but I can't remember, AND, as is the custom now a days, the waitress didn't write the order down, instead trying to remember everything. Hate that practice, I really do. The MEALS were reasonably priced, but the sides and drinks were astronomical. The side of plaintains was TEN dollars. I ordered a coffee at the end of the meal, (that took FOR.EVER. to come out by the way,) and it was like an espresso sized cup of coffee that costed almost $5. The iced teas, over $4. They make up the difference of the meals on the other shit. Our bill for the mofongo, the salmon, an iced tea, a side of plantains, and the worlds slowest, smallest coffee was JUST under $100. It was good, but it wasn't THAT good. As I mentioned, the server was awkward, and would come by the table and then just stand there, or walk away and then walk IMMEDIATELY back, so it was just a little weird. YMMV. Again, even with all that, I would absolutely go back here. They have a LOT of mofongo options, and I'd love to try another protein. read more

Food was fab. Best was stewed beef and veg. Beef was so tender and delish! Empanadas were good, we tried oxtail and ham/cheese. I loved my pork tacos. Everyone was nice and very accommodating. This is a nice addition to the South Jersey food scene. The mofongo here is absolutely worth a try. I thoroughly enjoyed the blend of flavors in the sauce that draped my mofongo. This is a slam dunk easy review to write. 5 stars no question! We were here on a Friday night and they had live music so that was a bonus. Overall the place was very clean and the decor is awesome. The service here was very good. I would suggest 1 thing.When people bring a bottle of wine that the staff open it for the customer rather than just leave the corkscrew at the table. Not a big deal to us at all. The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. I had the tomahawk pork chop it was amazing. The rice it was served with was probably the best Spanish rice I ever had. For dessert I had the banana bread and that too was amazing. The food here definitely exceeded my expectations. We will be regulars here. I can't believe it took us this long to come here. read more

Not fancy, low key and good food establishment. Not fancy for sure but some very solid dishes and nice array of menu options. Worth a visit for sure. Live music on Friday evenings. Probably one of the most interesting wine glasses I've seen in a byob restaurant. Service was kinda rushed and long waits for water refills if you want my review to be 100% honest. I think if they were a little more active of social media and a web site the place would get more crowded so go before it blows up. Hidden gem! For starters my husband had an order of quipes, they came with 3 and a creamy dipping sauce. Delicious. I ordered the beef and cheese empanada. One per order with a delicious dipping sauce as well. He ordered the Mofongo with garlic shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked as some places tend to do and the garlic infusion was subtle yet flavorful! It was truly amazing!! I ordered the pernil with white rice and black beans. The pork was tender and juicy. The rice and beans were good too! Must have their Tres Leche!! Wow! So So good! Very disappointing experience. We waited an hour and a half for our food, and it never even came out. We finally walked out. Paid for what we ate and didn't want the cubano sandwiches we ordered. The only items we did receive were the appetizers, which were empanadas, were frozen cold on the inside and poorly prepared. The flavor was awful, and the overall quality was unacceptable. On top of that, customer service was mediocre. The waiter didn't even know items on the menu. Unfortunately, this was a complete waste of time and money. We ordered takeout without knowing much about the place. I will go back! I thought the prices were high when most of the food is rice but I find that's the normal lately with this type of cuisine. I had the goat stew with rice and peas. One of the best I've had. The goat was super tender and there was a good amount of meat. The rice was very flavorful and a much better choice than white rice. I tried a little bite of the beef empanada. Packed with shredded beef. It was a little dry for my liking but I didn't use the dipping sauce. I preferred the shredded meat vs ground meat sometimes used. The rest of our group enjoyed the stew chicken and the codfish. The only complaint was the fried pork chops were tough and overdone. We've been to this restaurant 4 times and the food and service have always been exceptional. So we decided to visit on Mother's day and it was a disaster. The restaurant was about 80% full but they were not staffed appropriately and tables were walking out. Very poor management, we waited over 2 hours to get our food and even then it came out piecemeal. No management present to apologize or even give us some bread to hold us over.​ When we asked our server for bread she told us they didn't have any and had stopped providing bread weeks ago (????). The musicians that were there were so talented and the music was energetic and fun. lots of people were chair dancing, including myself. the only very small suggestion I would make would be to lower the music. it was extremely hard to have a conversation. Love this place. We eat here once a week. Tried a lot of their dishes and never had one I didn't like. They are always consistent. If you like something, it will be exactly the same next time you go. I love that because sometimes I crave a dish and don't want to be disappointed if it is not the same. Tonight I had the roasted half chicken. It was amazing, crispy skin, meat falls off the bone.
