Picked up takeout around 530p on a rainy Sunday. The place was dead. Service took the time expected (ordered through GrubHub via Yelp!). The inside appeared clean and the woman at the counter was friendly. We ordered 2 platters + 1 chicken empanada. The price was decent! The pernil was flavorful, but had some pieces that were too hard to chew. The pollo guisado was on point. Everything seemed pretty fresh and had good flavor to it. My first time here was for lunch on Sep. 3, 2020. It was a pleasure to meet the owner Luly. The restaurant serves Dominican food. I had rice with beef and the macaroni salad. This was a great find while on travel. The people working there were friendly and the food was very good. I got the mofongo de pernil and I would 110% get it again. The mofongo is SO good!! A lot of garlic and flavor. Pork is tender, moist, and well seasoned. Will be coming here again next time I'm in town. read more

If you're looking for a restaurant to grab delicious and filling homemade food along the 309, you're looking at the right place. My boyfriend and I walked in here by chance on a Monday afternoon. We were hungry and wanted to get some food to fill us up as we were on the road. We didn't know what to expect, but as soon as we walked up to the counter, Luly greeted us warmly with a smile (she was wearing a mask, but you could tell she was smiling by her eyes). She asked us if this was our first eating Dominican food, and we nodded. We didn't know how and what to order, but she explained that it was sort of like a mix and match. You choose your rice, your protein, and your side. That made a lot more sense. We decided to get baked chicken with yellow rice and a Mac salad, and pork stew with rice and beans and a green salad. We also ordered Tamarin and tres leches for dessert. It was all so delicious that both of us cleaned our plates! What impressed me the most about my visit here was the customer service offered by both Luly and her son. Not only did Luly take the time to describe her food to us and answer any questions we had, she personally checked in with us periodically to make sure that we were having a good time. I really appreciated that personal touch. In addition, they were so attentive with the timing of our meal. They brought out our tres leches just as we were finishing up our food. It was all so intuitive. My boyfriend and I both left feeling full and content. We were well taken care of on this visit, and I trust that our experience is not unique. This place is phenomenal! We tried chicken mofongo, fried pork mofongo, and stewed beef with rice and beans. The chicken and beef were perfectly tender and juicy, the pork deliciously crispy, and rice and plantains were the perfect accompaniment. OMG! This place is a hidden gem! The food was fantastic! I never had, nor did I ever know what Dominican food consisted of! I'm not always that adventurous and what I ate was so tasty and full of flavor! I had roasted pork, yellow rice, beans, and a salad. The rest of my party was a bit more adventurous and all were full and satisfied. The owners are so friendly I felt like we had been invited over for dinner. Combo platter includes choice of type of rice (white, yellow, or rice and beans) choice of protein (baked chicken, stewed chicken, beef, pork) I had the chicken, and I don't remember the beef and pork choices. Also plantains. Salad options are potato, macaroni or Vereen cabbage. It id buffet style but they put it on your plate. The chicken was flavorful and moist. Oxtail, empanadas, mofongo, pernil (pork), cubano sandwich- our group had all of these and cannot wait to go back. My husband even said the rice and beans are the best he has ever had. One word to describe this place... EXCELLENT! My fiancé and I just came here tonight 3/2, a few minutes before closing ( not realizing they were closing soon, sorry ). It was recommended to us by one of my friends. I'm assuming it's pretty new as I'm from the area and have never seen it before. When we walked in, the owner Luly greeted us and was very pleasant. Great customer service! I'm Dominican, so I know some good Dominican food when I see some/eat some! The food was excellent and fairly priced. The place was also clean, which is something I always look at when I go out to eat. First time eating here and not my last! We immediately let our friends and family know of this place.
