I'm a taco girlie through and through and I thought bad tacos were a thing of bad dreams. Casa Toro proved that they do exist. They were dry, flavorless and served with a tiny side of rice that seemed more of an afterthought than part of the meal. His burger, just as disappointing. Struggling with what more to say or "review" but nothing at all was memorable, not even memorably bad, just memorably bland. Chalking this up to a bad day for the chef and may stop back but for now I wouldn't recommend Casa Toro to satisfy that taco craving.

Food was good and were big portions. My mom did one of the trio plates that she enjoyed and my dad had a bowl. Nice ambiance sitting at a high top table by the bar and very friendly staff. The guac was delicious!

The food had very large portions! It tasted fine but I'd probably try something else if I were to return. They were quite busy so maybe we didn't order the right thing.

I was in the area with my wife and friends for an event and Casa Toro Doylestown was in the area. It was recommended so we made it a stop for dinner. The restaurant was very empty at 5pm on a Wednesday, and it pretty much was our choice of seats. They even have several outdoor tables if desired. We were fortunate that it was Happy Hour which gives you discounted House Margaritas, Mexican Beer, and Mojitos. We started with the margaritas. My wife wanted a frozen one and our waiter tried to get her to change her mind to the rocks because they do not have a margarita machine; only a blender that he said took away the flavor with the crushed ice. She still wanted the frozen and the waiter's point was proven as mine was much better according to my wife. So, for round two she went with the on the rocks. Our friend had a decent mojito, and other friend also had the rocks margarita. These were not on the sweet side and had ample tequila taste. A small round plate of house nachos with pico is given to all tables, and we ordered an appetizer of Bierra Nachos. They had the same house chips (almost too many compared to the amount of meat) but the flavor was excellent. They went quickly. For our main, my wife had a chimichanga which was like the size of a football packed with so much stuff that half of it came home. My friend and I had tacos Al pastor which also had grilled pineapple within. These three tacos were also fresh and fine. The white rice was nothing special and the ramekin of guacamole was nice. Our server was on top of things for our meal, and quite the talker but friendly. There were some tables not cleared so I don't know if they had enough staff on hand or some were just not into clearing tables. I'm guessing on weekends and nighttime this place can get rocking. Good food, great happy hour value, and a fun time at Casa Toro. About $130 not including tip for eight drinks, one appetizer, and four mains. Recommended!

This is a delightful atypical Mexican restaurant in Doylestown, PA. It's located in a nice strip mall, has an attractive space and inside/patio seating. We were greeted promptly when we arrived and were seated at a high top. Our server was friendly and got our drink orders right away. They have a wide variety of adult refreshments. My brother and his wife had margaritas. I had a Dos Equis Amber on tap. All were great. My wife had the tostone, which she like, but couldn't finish (it's big!). My sister-in- law had the chicken tinga tacos. She loved them. My brother had the margarita brisket which is brisket marinated in tequila and dark beer with some added spices. He prefers mild dishes and this one was too hot for him. I'd probably like it. I had the paella. It was wonderful. Shrimp, mussels, fish, scallops and some spicy sausage to perk it up served over rice. It was quite good. I'll come back when I'm in Doylestown again.

Went to Casa Toro and enjoyed a very good meal. The restaurant was clean and we were greeted immediately. Our server was pleasant, checked on us frequently, and our food was delivered at perfect time intervals. The Patron bottle light fixtures added a nice touch to each table and the sauce, accompanying our chips, was flavorful and at the perfect spiciness. The menu surprisingly had a Cuban food section, which we happily chose yuca fries, sweet plantains, and rice and beans. All of our entrees were enjoyed and at the right temperature. I would recommend this establishment and am glad that I picked this restaurant for our meal.

Really chuffed to try the new bar menu at Casa Torro. It is available all day, and discounted 25% during happy hour, M-F 4:30-6. The Birria tacos were spot on. Their version was made with beef, tacos are pan fried. A delicious cup of a spicy consume accompanied the dish, and was perfect for dipping. Can't wait to try more dishes on the "Jefe" bar menu

This restaurant is better than the one in Coopersburg with a better menu! The food comes out in huge portions for a good price and is delicious. I had the muscles as an appetizer and they melted in your mouth. I could have easily had 4 plates of them! Overall, the food, drinks, and portions are all wonderful and definitely worth another visit!

Fantastic! Our sister surprised us with a birthday lunch door dash delivery so we had no clue what was in our giant bag of eats but we were thrilled with every single item. Tacos Machos (steak, ground beef, chicken) Pork Burrito with mojo sauce Rice and Black Beans Chips with guac and pico Churro Every single bite was delish. The chips are FANTASTIC! The burrito, was huge and heavenly, the variety of tacos was a solid selection. Guac and Pico were super fresh. Rice and beans were great i can not wait to wrap the leftovers up in a rice/bean/cheese burrito. Lastly, the churro, pleasingly surprised with the unexpected sweet cream center. Our delivery was packaged perfectly and quality was top notch. This was our first experience with Casa Toro and after today's great meal it will not be our last!

I will start off with saying I am not a huge Mexican food fan, but Casa Toro makes Spanish food I can't resist! How can you not love a place that styles the rice to look like a little sombrero? The first dish was shrimp torero in al ajo. You can never go wrong with a garlic butter sauce with a little bit of rice. The second dish was a chipotle chicken bowl. This included chicken, rice, beans, and cheese melted on top.

I came here with my girlfriend and a couple friends after they recommended this restaurant. Upon walking in I noticed the nice decor. That's where my enjoyment stopped. The service is slow and our waiter only came back to the table once. But what about the food? That's the most important thing after all. Unfortunately that was also a let down. We started off with guacamole and queso. The guacamole had a strange taste to it and it reminded me of some chemical. The queso wasn't too bad, but it didn't incorporate any other flavors than cheese. For dinner I got Tacos Al Pastor with a side of a chicken enchilada and poblano peppers. The tacos tasted good, but they were very dry and almost seemed reheated. The rice and beans that it came with were also dry and didn't have much flavor. The enchilada also tasted good, but again it was dry. Lastly the peppers... they were very oily, but besides that they tasted good. Would I recommend coming here? Only if I was in a pinch. You can get way better food and service somewhere else (Rey Azteca comes to mind) while not traveling that much farther.

Well as of recently we both have seen it shared a bit and decided to try it out. We both got the pan con chicharron sandwich . I ordered plantains as a side and he had fries - it was a $4 add on for a side which you save $2.50 each by adding it to the sandwich. The size of the sides are probably both worth the $6.50 on their own. The fries were your basic fries - probably frozen but good. The plain twins were fried nicely and had good flavor - I would have loved a dipping sauce with them. Now since the place is known for their chicken I wanted to try something with chicken. Well they had empanadas (not sure if this is always on the menu) and you could get 3 for $12 with a sauce. We did each of the 3 flavors they had available: Huachana Empanada (this is the house made Salchicha which is a Peruvian sausage w/ eggs), ham & cheese , and the chicken . The sauce I picked to go with them was their signature sauce - the aji pollo. The sauce I have never tasted anything like it - definitely interesting. The chicken empanada was very plain. The chicken definitely did have a unique flavor but was a little dry in the empanada - it was apparently cooked with the same sauce. The ham and cheese was my favorite - I loved the cooper sharp with the ham. The sausage also had a great spice! As for the sandwich the chicharron was cooked so well paired with the sweet potato and pickled onions it gave it a nice balance of sweet and salty as well as different textured bites. I will say overall that most of the items on the menu were a tad dry and could use a sauce or something - however overall the flavor was great. Everything came to $40 which wasn't bad. The restaurant was super clean inside, they had a few tables but we got takeout. It also looked like they served coffee and a few other things. Their online order menu definitely has more items listed than the regular menu. I definitely do want to go back and try the rotisserie chicken on its own with some other sides! A very filling meal though if you're looking for that !

It's tender, well-seasoned, and tastes like someone actually cared about how it was made. If you've never been, don't overthink it. Start with a half chicken and two sides (good for 2-3 people). I suggest one rice-based side and one other. The portions are more substantial than you'd expect. Take it home, build yourself a slop bowl, and top it with the sauce you selected. You'll end up with a meal that's more filling and roughly half the price of two Chipotle burrito bowls. They also offer roast beef and pork options in the sandwich or appetizer section of the menu, which are solid alternatives if you're not into dealing with chicken on the bone or don't feel like deboning. This is primarily a takeout spot, so don't expect bathrooms or fountain soda, though there are a few places to sit if you want to eat there. If you're on a protein kick or just want something different (without getting too adventurous), Dan Hector is absolutely worth trying.

This wasn't because of poor service or bad food, because those are both pretty good. This was really just due to the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it's a newer building and well-maintained (and clean). But gives me "Tea Room" vibes from the colors to the plants. With that said, I won't let this affect my review. Our last visit was on Saturday night. It was a strange night because on Sunday, we were set to be hit with snowstorm Fern. You could tell that people were bracing for what would come. To me, it was very reminiscent of just before the lockdowns for COVID-19 in 2020. Anyways, moving on from my memories of that! We sat at the bar, which is always my favorite seat in any restaurant, but we don't do much as normally we have our six-year old son with us. Not tonight! There were two (or maybe three) bartenders. It's a large bar, probably about 20 seats, and at 4:30 pm, they were all open but 2. We started with a few cocktails, an Espresso Martini for my wife and the Torched Orange Negroni for me. The drinks were good...the Negroni was too good and went down too quickly; time to switch to beer I guess. For appetizers, we ordered the Fried Cauliflower: crispy cauliflower tossed in pastrami spice, served with tangy mustard aioli; and the Artisanal Cheese Board: a curated selection of local cheeses, tangy pickles, fresh fruit, sweet preserves, crunchy crostini, and golden honey (and yes, we added the prosciutto for $4 more). The cauliflower was pretty good; it wasn't breaded, which I was happy about, and both the spice and aioli added good flavor and contrast. It wasn't that hot, but I didn't think anything of that (more on this later). The cheeseboard was larger than I expected. Several mixed berries, five different (large pieces) of cheese, the priscuotto, and some crackers. All good. The crackers were probably the highlight and the most disappointing item. They were very good, heavily flavored with rosemary and the perfect crunch and salt. But, they overpowered the delicate cheeses. My wife likes a cracker with some cheese, but in this case, we just ate them separately (still very good). For entrees, my wife ordered the Shrimp and Blue Crab Bucatini: green garlic butter, fresh scallions, and spicy Calabrian chili oil; and I ordered the Terrain Burger: 8 oz. grass-fed beef, Cabot Creamery white cheddar, sweet balsamic onion jam, brioche bun, simply dressed greens, with an egg (cooked to order over easy) and bacon. And since we were facing the snowpocalypse, I ordered the Truffle and Pecorino Fries for an upcharge instead of the normal salad that comes with it (more tea room vibes here?). My wife's plate looked very good, and I'm always happy to see when a pasta dish with seafood isn't ruined with a heavy red sauce. Instead, a light butter sauce complements the light flavors of the seafood. My wife took a bite and said, "Whoa, that's spicy," but the subsequent bites showed that perhaps she had the only Calabrian chili in the first bite, and it was not mixed through. She did mention to me that her food was just lukewarm (cauliflower flashback?). I briefly wrote this off because sometimes she likes her food far too hot (temperature)...but maybe she was right. I was first surprised when mine arrived. I was expecting fries doused with fake truffle oil and some grated pecorino on top. Instead, I saw fries that had a truffle cheese grated on them, not quite melted yet. It honestly tasted good and was a good change. But it wouldn't melt; my wife was correct with the food being lukewarm. My fries were cool, so the cheese never melted, and the burger seemed cool too. Now, that aside, the burger was cooked to a perfect medium and was seasoned well. It was good! All in all, it is a good restaurant. It's a little on the high end price-wise for what you get, but it is a good change. I will return and think about my Tea Room fears as I hopefully enjoy another meal at the bar.
