Excellent food if you enjoy spices and aromatic flavors. I had the best curry goat I've ever tried; their version adds that heat that isn't normally available in curry goat found in Jamaican restaurants. This might be that Afro-Caribbean influence they are infusing. It would be hard for me not to get that. Their Jerk Smoke Salmon was also incredible -- another dish that was beyond amazing, besting your typical salmon dish that you'll find in many places. My only caution is for the parents; On certain nights , such as Wednesday (not sure if it's every week), they may have a comedy night, and that isn't family-friendly at all based on my experience. Great find. They opened pretty recently. Wasn't sure what to expect but our lunch was delicious. I liked the goat curry and side cabbage dish. Their Caribbean Mac n Cheese was really good too. I'm from the south east, and I guess living closer to the Caribbean island as there was more Caribbean food that was authentic, I have been living up here a year and a half. I have been looking for good Jamaican food on a regular and I have to say this spot is REAL. Sassa Bienne got me shook in the best way - no fake "jerk" here, it's proper smoked chicken, skin a lil crispy and good spicy, just how it s'posed to be. I ordred the jerk chiken plate with rice & pees and they even left the tiny tyme stems right in there, proof they cooked it slow and old-school, not that oven bake shortcut mess other joints try. Came during opening and got myself curry goat with a side of mac n cheese and jollof rice. The curry goat was good and there was a generous portion of it. It paired nicely with the jollof rice. The mac n cheese was what I was excited for but unfortunately it was barely above room temperature and the cheese was hardened and not cheesy. I did manage to finish everything and the lunch special was a great deal. The service was great and the person who served us was kind and helpful. He was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is a little funky. Lots of colors mixed with basketball related decorations and a small stage in the back for live music. I was in the area visiting my daughter and decided to try this place! Upon entering, the decor was not bad. When I was waiting to order, I noticed it was just the owner and the cook. Because of this, it took a while to order but didn't mind the wait. I ordered the jerk salmon with Mac n cheese and Cole slaw. The Salmon was pretty good with the jerk seasoning, onions, and peppers. The Cole slaw was alright. Felt like it was missing something. The Mac n cheese was good just a little oily(maybe from the cheese). Suddenly, man from the kitchen came out and berated and humiliated the employee who was originally helping me. It was uncalled for and made me feel bad for the employee. You don't speak to people like that. If he didn't know what he was doing, it's because you didn't train him properly. I assume the man from the kitchen was the owner or manager. To put it simple - Our food was bad and we left most of it there. We ordered the fried chicken platter and oxtails. Our chicken had feathers on it and we let the staff know who apologized no credit etc. My rice & peas had no peas, the oxtail was tough and the food was cold. I got food for three people and nothing was good. the fried whiting and oxtails were salty and not edible. there was so much grease on the jollof rice from the oxtails they put on top of them it was inedible. the ribs tasted very porky. the cole slaw had a sauce on it that was clearly out of a bottle and IF it had been good, I still would have been disappointed by the small portions. should have known since no one was there in the dining room or pick up area and the phone didn't ring once while I was waiting for my food. The food was delicious. The bill, not quite. I visited this restaurant today. My significant other had jerk chicken, rice with vegetables, and mac & cheese; I also had jerk chicken with mac & cheese alongside coleslaw. I drank a can of soursop juice with chocolate cake for dessert. The ambiance was nice, therefore, we decided to eat in. Our final bill was $80.39 . Once again, the food was delicious, however, the price was unjustified. Sadly, I don't believe we will be returning. read more

Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. They had only been open 2 weeks and they have not developed a following yet so the service was very attentive. I had the Jerk chicken and it was delicious. I was given the choice of dark or white meat and I went with the white. It was very moist and the jerk seasoning was perfect. The meal comes with 2 sides. I had the rice and beans and the green beans. Both were excellent The only negative is I felt it was a little pricey but with the amount of food and the quality I will not complain. In the future they might want to have lunch size servings with a little less food. Just a suggestion. I would highly recommend you give this place a try if you are in the area. It is a great change of pace from the pizza and diners that are the norm. read more

WE tried it one day and literally went back the next day and the day after.Very clean love the style of the restaurant and the customer service was great. A group of four of us ate at Sassa Bienne last night. While the food itself was acceptable (the curry chicken was very good, the rest was fair), they ran out of food (collard greens and curry goat) and the service was horrific. The waitress failed to tell us that they were out of the goat untill the rest of our meal was being brought out. Furthermore, we ordered platters, which came with two sides, and we asked them to put our sides in seperate bowls, as we were sharing all the food. The waitress checked in the back and advised us they could do this. When we received the bill, the owner had rung it up as a-la carte. It should be noted, that there was a $40 difference in that bill, then if they had rung the bill as platters like we ordered. We spoke with the waitress who satated she told the owner we ordered platters and he told her he was going to charge us a la cart because of the extra effort it took to put the sides in seperate plates. We stated that this was not acceptable, as no one told us prior to the final bill and we requested to speak with the owner. She said he had left to make a delivery but would be back in a few minutes. She did call him and she reported to us that he was down the street and would be back in 3 minutes. After ten minutes, or so, we said we couldn't wait much longer and we needed to leave. We asked her to call him again. He returned and rather than deal with us in a professional manner and address the miscommunication, he told us we were lying and that the waitress told him we had ordered a-la-carte. We asked the waitress, in front of him, and he yelled at her and told her not to talk. He was very rude to us. Based on how very rude the owner was, I would never step foot in his resteraunt again and would recommend it to anybody. I have been to numerous other Jamaican and Carribean resteraunts in the area and would prefer to patronize resteraunts with not only delicious food, but professional and courteous staff/owners. read more

I had the ribs with sweet potato fries and my partner had the pulled pork with potato salad and mac & cheese. The ribs were St Louis style, these are not my personal preference, I prefer baby back ribs however the flavor was sweet spicy and rich and the meat was tender and moist. The sweet potato fries were crispy and hot. My partner had the pulled pork with the same rib sauce and it was also tender moist and delicious. The mac & cheese and potato salad were very good. The portions were HUGE and a great value for the price. You can order an entree by itself or a complete meal with two sides. There are prices for cash and for CC. The decor is bright and cheerful and the staff was warm, welcoming and attentive. The restaurant just opened on Thursday November 30th. I ordered the plantains however, our server suggested ordering another side as the plantains were not up to their standards. The server did not elaborate however, I was impressed with their willingness to share the kitchen's challenges and offering another item in its place. I am gluten free and they were very accommodating to explain what items were gluten free and most of them are! There are tables to eat in, which we did, and there is also hot food ready and prepared for to go orders. We did share with the server that while the portions were a good value for the price they were too large for a lunch portion. Neither I nor my partner could finish our meals and had to take the leftovers home. We love leftovers however, often when people are eating lunch out, they are not going home after the meal. There was a platform with drums for live music. I would recommend this restaurant most highly! I am quite certain they will work out the challenges of starting a new restaurant and look forward to going again for the jerk chicken!
