Ordered takeout, chicken and grits were amazing. The fries and chicken fingers were a hit with my little guy as well. Great comfort food.

this restaurant used to be incredible. The food was well cooked flavorful, and fresh. Ever since…read morethe Middle Easterns took the restaurant over and renamed it AAmir's Halal Gyro, the food is disgusting, stale and nasty everything about it is wrong. It will not survive in its present state. The food is very overpriced however, I would be willing to pay if the food was fresh and taste good. The quality now is not worth the price and I will never go there again. I hate that people can move into a primarily black and brown communities and serve food that is subpar because they don't believe we deserve any better. If I could give it half a star I would.

This place just recently opened so thought I'd give it a try. The place seemed clean. There are…read moresome kinks for them to work out but I wish them success. Service was great. The woman was friendly when I came to pick up my order but she's was also busy helping in the back packing up the food. Not a problem since I didn't have a long wait but during busy times it could become an issue. And I do hope they stay busy and successful!!! I thought the food was good. I had the medium oxtail platter which came with rice and peas. You get to pick 1 additional side so I chose collard greens. I really enjoyed the spices in the rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The oxtail were cooked perfectly but I expected a little more for $22. Seems like a lot for mostly rice. Which by the way was more than the $18 listed on the online menu. My husband had the large fried chicken platter which also came with rice and peas. You can choose 2 sides with the large. We had the yams and plantains. Even though the chicken was fried, it was in sauce so became soggy. Not terrible just something to be aware of if you're expecting super crispy. He said that the chicken was good but some pieces were moist and some were dry. Now for the sides.....the yams and collards were delicious but ice cold. Not even luke warm. I honestly didn't feel like scooping them out to heat up. The flavors were on point. The collards had a good spice level. The yams were sweet and spicy. The rice and peas were probably my favorite and one of the best I've had locally. So I'm looking forward to trying some of the other dishes.

From the moment we walked up, we were treated like family. The food is served with so much warmth and care, it truly feels like stepping into someone's kitchen. We ordered the Oxtail Chili and Jerk Chicken, and were even offered a sample of the chili while we waited. One taste, and we were blown away. Hearty, bold, full of spice and flavor--it was outstanding. We seriously considered ordering more entrees just so we could keep tasting! The jerk chicken was equally incredible: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of rich flavor with just the right amount of heat. It was warm and spicy without being overwhelming. The rice and peas and cabbage that came with it were the perfect complements, rounding out the dish beautifully. And don't miss **Momma's lemonade**! It's honestly the best lemonade I've ever had--refreshing, unique, and clearly made with love. You can tell every recipe here is rooted in family, tradition, and care. It's rare to find food that feels this personal and delicious. I don't think we'll ever be able to drive by this truck again without stopping. We're already planning our next visit--and this time, we might just try the whole menu!
