This might be that Afro-Caribbean influence they are infusing. It would be hard for me not to get that. Their Jerk Smoke Salmon was also incredible -- another dish that was beyond amazing, besting your typical salmon dish that you'll find in many places. My only caution is for the parents; On certain nights , such as Wednesday (not sure if it's every week), they may have a comedy night, and that isn't family-friendly at all based on my experience. I would advise that they post a note to caution those bringing kids to ensure everyone has a good experience.

So far I have had all the different patties, jerk chicken and brown stew chicken and I always get the rice and peas and plantains. Everything has been cooked to perfection, meat falling of the bone. Really well seasoned not to sweet or spicy and really well coated. The service is fast if you go there and I know they have some delivery options. I have also had vegetarian options which were equally good. The space is big, clean, comfortable and well lit. It's in a very convenient part of town and I always find parking right out front. The quality now is not worth the price and I will never go there again. I hate that people can move into a primarily black and brown communities and serve food that is subpar because they don't believe we deserve any better. If I could give it half a star I would.

I had the medium oxtail platter which came with rice and peas. You get to pick 1 additional side so I chose collard greens. I really enjoyed the spices in the rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The oxtail were cooked perfectly but I expected a little more for $22. Seems like a lot for mostly rice. Which by the way was more than the $18 listed on the online menu. My husband had the large fried chicken platter which also came with rice and peas. You can choose 2 sides with the large. We had the yams and plantains. Even though the chicken was fried, it was in sauce so became soggy. Not terrible just something to be aware of if you're expecting super crispy. He said that the chicken was good but some pieces were moist and some were dry. Now for the sides.....the yams and collards were delicious but ice cold. Not even luke warm. I honestly didn't feel like scooping them out to heat up. The flavors were on point. The collards had a good spice level. The yams were sweet and spicy. The rice and peas were probably my favorite and one of the best I've had locally. So I'm looking forward to trying some of the other dishes.

Hearty, bold, full of spice and flavor--it was outstanding. We seriously considered ordering more entrees just so we could keep tasting! The jerk chicken was equally incredible: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of rich flavor with just the right amount of heat. It was warm and spicy without being overwhelming. The rice and peas and cabbage that came with it were the perfect complements, rounding out the dish beautifully. And don't miss **Momma's lemonade**!
