What a welcomed surprise!…read more We were craving some authentic Jamaican food and as per, Yelp didn't disappoint. We placed an online order for pickup (no dining in) and within about 3 minutes the owner (Orville) called us and alerted us that the steamed fish can take about 25 minutes. This helped us plan our trip, and we greatly appreciated it! We ordered the Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, and the Steamed Fish. We selected rice and beans/peas for our starchy sides and green beans for our vegetables. And we threw in an order of Fried Plantains (I cannot pass them up EVER). The restaurant is small and immaculately clean. I had the pleasure of chatting with Orville while he completed my to-go order. I love a hands-on business owner who genuinely cares about his product. The aromas were making my stomach growl, and I couldn't wait to get home to dig in! The portions were huge, and this made my day, as I love having lunch options for the next day (and the day following!). Everything was piping hot and sensational. You know how you can tell when food is made with love? Well, our dishes were created with extra helpings. SO GOOD. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking. There is nothing worse than circling the block and trying to find street parking...not so here! We are so thankful for having found this little gem!

The food didn't have much flavor. How can you mess up jerk chicken at a Jamaican establishment? 3. It was pretty expensive for long awaited, kind-of-bland food. 4. They gave me the wrong side. I ordered takeout so I did not discover this mistake until after I got home. So disappointing and underwhelming.

Tender but not as tender as it could be. The plantains were also dry and hard not really sweet. They left the super big stems from the fresh herbs. The oxtail and plantains were so dry I could swear they were cooked at least a week ahead of time. The rice was okay and so was the patties. I had one beef and one chicken curry. Over all I was so so disappointed and for $25 a platter like I really want my money back. I will never go back. You should always take pride in your food and business.

I ordered a side of Jerk chicken, patties and a drink. I could not wait to eat. (Sigh) I was a bit disappointed because the Jerk chicken portions were way too big and it seemed as if they were done in the oven instead of on the grill. Authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken is not usually served with gravy and this had way too much; it was almost like a stew but with less gravy. I ate it because it was edible but I'm not so sure I'll be back now, I could be nit picking because, like I said, I'm an island girl and I grew up on this type of food so YOU may like it if you end up going here.

Ordered 4 deconstructed rotis: 2 chicken and potato, a goat and a jerk chicken. 3 with paratha root and 1 with buss up shut. All were super tasty-deep and (not too) spicy flavor, really good sized portions (it gave me 3 meals) and packed nicely. substitutes for the curried potatoes that typically go along with the meal are available. I would personally get the buss up shut variety of roti or opt for the wrapped version in the future the chickpea filling was quite messy due to my error of ripping it. A very satisfying meal nonetheless. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other offerings.

At first I was humm, how to approach a whole fish, where to start and the bones... don't even worry. I plastic fork and knife I just gently started along the back of the fish behind the head and the meat fell off the skeleton, the meat was juicy and so tasty. Just be mindful it's a fish and there are bones-- easy to see and pull out. My dish sides included rice and beans, cooked cabbage and fried plantains. Spectacular dinner.

From hearty portions to vibrant flavors, the food is charming and authentic. Food *Jerk Chicken Platter w/ Rice & Beans + Fried Plantains - The jerk chicken is to die for. It is perfectly spiced and tender. I love mixing the sauce with the rice and beans. The plantains are cooked to golden perfection, adding a touch of sweetness to the savory meal. This is definitely my go to order. *Oxtail Platter w/ Rice & Beans + Cabbage - The oxtail is rich and flavorful. I was surprised by how tender the meat was. The two sides perfectly complement the main dish, balancing out the flavors. *6 Piece Wings - Unfortunately, the wings missed the mark. They were very saucy, and very, VERY salty. Perhaps this was an accident because everything else was perfectly seasoned, but sadly, not the wings. Service The woman manning the cashier is incredibly sweet and kind, while the chef works hard to prepare the food in the kitchen. They are both very caring and I love coming back just to see them. Ambiance The inside of the restaurant was quite lively, with a TV playing loudly in the background when I visited. Despite its modest size, the space feels warm and welcoming.
