I searched Google for a seafood place near me in Maple Shade. This place came up and I saw the reviews on Google so I decided to try it out. The first platter was Broiled Flounder Stuffed with Crab Imperial. The two sides were Buttered Corn and Potato Wedges. The fish was very bland and did not have much flavor. The crab stuffing had chunks of crab in it but was mediocre in flavor. The consistency of the stuffing was watery almost like it had been previously frozen. The wedges were good but the corn was brown and dried out. Not impressed with this combo. The Favorite Trio (fried version) contained fried flounder, shrimp, and scallops. The scallops again tasted like there were made from frozen pieces as they were watery. The shrimp were good, The flounder was completely bland. I mean really bland. The sides were sweet potato fries and coleslaw. The sweet potato fries were very good. The close slaw was not "slaw". It was not good at all. It was mushy and just weird. The Broiled Crab Cakes were good. They had a good flavor and chunks of crab meat. I had sauteed string beans and zucchini which was a good match with the crab cakes. When I go to a place like this my expectation is to have food that beats my own. It doesn't take much to flavor a flounder filet with seasonings that makes it taste great. The bill came out to $59.00. For the prices and for the quality of the food, this was a disappointment. Make me really wonder about the reviews on here. Cooking at home is becoming a lost art. This could be really good food if the seasonings were increased and attention to taste was, well, paid attention to. Sorry guys just my honest opinion. read more

We ordered 6lbs of mussels to cook at home for Christmas eve. They were large and fresh. We had some cleaning to do for sure, but overall they were pretty clean. Not sandy. Another hidden gem I found looking for a fresh seafood market on google. Pulled up there was a spot right outside which is always nice on the quiet maple shade Main Street. When I walked in I expected a quiet market but what i saw was awesome. A full dining room of people enjoying a Saturday lunch. I walked up to a GORGEOUS display of fresh fish and "ready to cook" delights. A case full of raw fish fillets and clams and next to it a huge case of homemade seafood favorites. Jumbo shrimp (raw and cooked) clean or not. Lobster tails, Lobster imperial, bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed Clams and so much more. I got a 6 Pack of huge crab stuffed mushroom and a pound of cleaned ( i was being lazy but this is why this place is awesome) and took it home to make a nice Saturday dinner. I threw the mushrooms in the oven at 400 for 35 minutes and sautéed some shrimp in cilantro and lime juice and it was so fresh I was amazed. The staff was awesome but being a chef myself the open window seeing their chef running 10+ sauté pans making it look easy was the best part. Last order was broiled groper cooked to perfection with side of grilled vegetables very nicely cooked. Also ordered one of the many selections of soup always hot. Upsides: Spicy crab soup is excellent as was tortilla crusted tilapia. Atmosphere is casual - has a "down the shore" feel. Good prices for homemade seafood. The best seafood restaurant in the area, and it's not close. Have been here many times when visiting my parents, and it's our go-to. No idea what the people on here complaining about service are talking about. It's a very small restaurant, which seems to explode the brains of people who think they have a constitutional right to a seat here no matter what's going on. Plan ahead, it's worth it. We ordered mussels, cajun catfish and Atlantic Salmon Fillet w/ Lump Crab Meat in a Horseradish Cream Sauce. Costs us ~$40. We should have checked the order before leaving. My catfish was tasty but the pricy salmon fillet was dry as dust. Crabmeat and horseradish cream sauce were nowhere to be found. Just a freaking dry piece of fish with no sauce! Just took a coworker here for lunch and again, the food and service were excellent. This place always delivers on quality food and friendly service. I had the lunch special codfish with chili sauce and crabmeat and stewed tomatoes and coleslaw as my sides. My coworker had the stuffed shrimp and he was impressed at how much crabmeat was inside. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a Maple Shade institution and we are lucky to have such a great restaurant in our town. Great seafood all year round. The dining area is small, but the quality of the food far outweighs the size of the seating area. Some of the best salmon that I can find in the SNJ area. My elderly father loves seafood. I had passed the restaurant several times and wanted to try it out. There were many patrons there, so we needed to sit at a smaller table, but we had just enough room to sit. The server was very nice, and accomodating, aware of my father's needs. I was pretty hungry and cold, so I ordered their crab bisque, bacon wrapped scallops, and seafood white cream pasta. My father always likes crabcakes, and we ordered that dinner plate. The crab bisque was tasty, while the bacon wrapped scallops were so flavorful, I was tempted to eat more than my portion since I eat much faster than my Dad (ha-ha). Didn't need to worry since by the time my seafood pasta plate came I was getting full from the soup, and scallops. The pasta was EXTREMELY good and flavorful, not just a lot of salt. My Dad said his crabcakes were good also. We could not eat everything, and had the rest the next day, a great treat. Can't wait to go back! read more

We were the youngest ones in the crowd but thats ok! You can order any of the food to go, it all comes from a clean, organized cooler.
