Left my cart in the middle of the store and walked out. Rotten, I mean rotten, produce (others were complaining, too); heard produce manager was on vacation -- that's no excuse!! Isn't there an assistant? Prices are outrageous compared to other supermarkets in area - Shoprite for instance. I go there once in a while because it's a smaller market for me to walk (have back and leg issues). To make matters worse, 2 young men approched me and asked if I wanted to go to Church on Sunday. What??!! They repeated it twice because I was looking at them like they were from Mars. I told them I was Jewish and go to synagogue. They asked me AGAIN!! I politely said, "leave me alone." I'm going to go ahead and agree with the others who complain about the deli service. Each time I have gone I not only get an attitude but the process of ordering deli meat almost is awkward and uncomfortable. The person there has no social skills and definitely not a people person, he belongs in an office behind a desk somewhere maybe even a basement or a warehouse. One time he practically almost argued with me over what I was ordering so you know what? This Acme is one of the smaller and less crowded grocery stores in the area. I have never had an issue with customer service. In fact, I can't say enough nice things about the butcher at ACME. He was kind enough to help my mom and I select the appropriate size meat for a party and even cracked the ribs and trimmed some fat for us. Selection and inventory here is typical to any grocery store. One of their unique features is their BOGO cooler in the back of the store. Here you'll find meat items close to expiration at discounted buy one get one free pricing. ACME also has $5 hoagies, granted they aren't as fabulous as a Wawa hoagie, but they're good and can easily be split between two people. read more

Two cashiers open on a Friday night? One express and one regular. Unacceptable ACME! Acme is always higher priced than the Shop Rite less than a mile away but they do have some great sales. Utilizing sales I was able to get 5 bags of groceries for less than $40 this time. My prescription plan changed so i have to go to the pharmacy inside Acme (Sav-On) so I'll browse the sales while I'm waiting. read more

For a supermarket chain that is on its deathbed, you'd think they would at least try to help the customers. Not the store on Lenola Rd. It was early evening, I walked up to the customer service desk with a question about an item that I was carrying. There was only me, no other customers, on the customer side of the desk. On the store side of the desk was an employee on a phone call. She saw me, did not address me, but continued the phone call. I figured it was store related business she was discussing. But as she continued to ignore me, in the stillness of the empty store I could not help but hear her side of the conversation, saying words like "No, I don't want that." and "That's not the one I want." It was a personal call. A personal call that started before I arrived and went on for 4 minutes before I walked away. In addition to the $6 item I had and then put down, we had a cart full of groceries we also abandoned. News flash: without the customers, the store will close. By all means DO NOT WORK HERE, Amce force's you to join a their union which is bullshit, the union does nothing for you you have to wait 2 YEARS JUST TO GET BASIC HEALTH INSURANCE. I personally never shop here the prices are horrible, I worked for a few months then quit, you don't even get a employee discount. While working here I constantly found food that was expired, even food that was newly shipped to the store. They sold Easter candy from 2020 and I quit in January 2021. The overnight manager ( Mini Mike) is verbally abusive, inpatient, and a Horrible gossip he talks shit and bad mouths EVERYONE, Chris, the 2 managers Timmy and Robin, Cindy, Brian, and Myself included. I guess if I had no education or skills and only worked retail at age 60 something I'd be miserable too. The whole store is in disary, never have I seen a grocery store this messy. I come here at times since it's so close to work... today, I stopped in to get some lunch. As I was waiting in line to pay, I noticed that an elderly woman was at the cashier. she was clearly having issues understanding how much to pay or what items were on sale. The cashier, let's just call her D, was so rude. She was rolling her eyes and sighing every time the elderly woman asked a question. When "D" handed the elderly woman her change, not only did she not look at her, she intentionally placed her hand in a location that the elderly woman would need to stretch to retrieve it. WTF?!?!?!?! But the worst thing about the whole scenario is that "D" and the next customers in line were making fun of the elderly woman as she left. How horrible is that? I've been here hundreds of times and I've never seen anything like it. So maybe this is just an isolated incident... maybe they need to have some customer service training. But what I saw from "D" was just disgusting. read more

I have been going to this Acme location for many years. In the past, I would have rated this store as 3 stars (average). Within the last year, this store has improved so much, I am now giving it 5 stars. The quality and selection of their products is fantastic. The employees are very friendly and extremely helpful. During our most recent visit, my wife and I had an issue redeeming some of our coupons. We didn't realize it, but they had recently expired. The manager (Katie) was called over and very promptly provided a manager override honoring our coupons. Katie did not have to do this as the coupons were in fact expired. Just another example of the very helpful staff. Thanks again for all of your help Katie, you are the best! read more

The prices on the shelves do not reflect what it is actually rung up as. Attempt to ask for help and be prepared for a 30 minute Charlie Foxtrot. They close an entrance after like..8:00 p.m. for some rando reason. You have to go to the pharmacy for a pregnancy test. I feel that should be illegal, considering, PHARMACIES CLOSE AT PECULIAR HOURS. Just because your pharmacy is closed doesn't lessen my possibility of being pregnant*. Their buyers are missing their frontal lobes...apparently they think all we want is their store brand "Equaline" products. Their produce is old and expensive. *Please note, I would love to be pregnant, but am not. But if I get an inkling, I would like to take a test sooner than later because I enjoy wine. And wine and fetuses don't go well together. read more

Totally agree with the other lone (and 1st) review, the staffing at this store is dysfunctional and the merchandising is poor at best. And, to make matters worse many of the center-store packaged product prices are not competitive to other merchants in the area. There are some perks, if you live nearby it's of course convenience. The other nice perk is that Lancaster brand steaks are very good and at this Acme they're always fresh, good grill cuts, and they are very reasonably priced. read more

I come here on Fridays and Saturdays when their new sale items come out just to buy the fresh fruit. At this time it is excellent at a good price went on sale. As the days go on the fruit bowls particularly the watermelon don't seem fresh and look like it is sour and sitting out for days. There are not many cashiers and the checkout process is slow. It is a small store and the aisles are crowded. I have gotten some of the best buys on the clearance rack in the back. Overall very average read more

I do not like the new set up in Acme - Lenola Rd. The self checkout was faster, now I'm waiting 15 minutes to check out with 2 items. And as for more of a customer-cashier interaction, they don't seem to interact any differently than they have before. I really wish you'd bring back the self checkout. read more

The employees are great & product selection is adequate but I cannot understand the decision to take out the self checkout lanes. Sometimes I need only a few items & I don't feel like waiting in line & dealing with a checkout lane. I will go to Shop-Rite & go through self checkout. Your staff is great and really friendly but for the life of me I cannot understand why you would get rid of the self check out. During the renovation process, you would only have two checkout lanes open with lines stretching down the aisle. For someone that stopped in for three or four items, the self check out would have been great to get customers like me in and out of the store but you felt the need to get rid of them. Now you are opening up a battery of express lanes. Not really staying competitive with other local markets in my opinion. read more

Customer service is horrible at this Acme. This is a smaller Acme but that is not the real problem. The customer service is really poor. The seafood counter closes at different hours. They will tell you it closes at 7pm but I was there at 6:30 and they were already closed. No one seems to know whats going on or really cares. Too bad. Went in here to buy some Canada Dry cans 4/$10.88 (Diet). Went down the aisle and not one to be found. Wasted a trip.....but it get's better. I wanted a "rain check". I go up to "courtesy" only to be ignored by JOANNE. I clear my throat a few times - nada! "Excuse me, can I get a rain check?" I'll be with you in a minute. She still hasn't even cast an eye in my direction. I ask her "why" there is no diet CD. She tells me that "it's the duty of the CD driver". I worked for Coca-Cola Bottling for 36 years; but rather than argue; I watch her, ever so slowly, start to look into their weekly circular. Page after page looking......looking....(it's on the very front page) so I think that maybe she's looking for "something else". Then she says "I have to go check". Like I'm making up the sale and I come down in the pouring rain to "glom" a rain check. So, off she goes down the aisle leaving me and an ever growing number in back of me to see what the price is. Finally I spot another red shirt (Jerry). I said to him "Is there a manager I can speak with?" He says "I'm the manager for today". I tell him about Joanne (who is still MIA) but finally comes around the bend. Joanne decided to fill out the dreaded "rain check" while in the soda aisle to keep everyone waited with bated breath on the final decision. Jerry says to her "did you check the display, Joanne?" Joanne don't want to do ANYTHING. She refuses to look at the display and doesn't want to give me the "rain check" until I start making some noise. I told her I'll be speaking with her store manager tomorrow. She says "Go ahead, I have witnesses" (whatever the hell that means) but "this woman" should NOT be dealing with any customers with her horrible attitude. Rather than doing something she obviously doesn't know the first thing about; she should have paged Jerry (since the courtesy was having a long line) to see if he could lend a hand, which he could have since he told me "It's on the FRONT PAGE of the circular" and since she has no idea there even IS a display...............do I have to go any further? Anyways, the manager's name is Robin Fuerneisen and we shall become acquainted tomorrow. read more

We use the store only because it's closest for both food and Pharma has great hours and nice staff. Also in the same mall you get an unusual number of great restaurants and little shops. It has the basics on food but no pizazz. Trader Joes Marlton and Shoprite there cheaper with more selection and yes, more pizazz. read more

Just left Acme in Maple Shade. I actually liked going there for shopping. I did get some good buys. I was surprised to see some of the reviews about the lack of care and customer service until tonight. I kept smelling something very strong at the store and then turned to go down the aisle after the produce. I almost got sick the smell was so strong. I told my husband that it smelled like spray paint. He areed but with a sinus problem not as aware as I was. It got stronger as I went through the aisle and I was now tasting it and smelling it. I turned to the next aisle and there was a young man spray painting the very bottom under the shelf next to the floor with black spray paint. He wasn't wearing anything over his mouth or nose and evidently had been doing it for some time. That's a great deal of spray painting. I would think this would be illegal in a food store or any store during business hours. I would also think that their employee should have been protected. This is a complete lack of concern for both the shopper and those doing the work. I think it is time to find a new store. I found the checkers and others to be friendly and helpful, but whoever is in charge doesn't seem to care at all. read more
