I'm not usually up this way, as I live in Virginia these days, but my dad passed pretty suddenly earlier in the month and his funeral was this past Saturday. My mom was feeling like she needed to get out of the house yesterday, so I agreed to go with her to this TJ's location. I get pretty anxious in grocery stores so I tend to go in the early morning, so mid-afternoon on a Sunday was nerve-wracking for me. The parking lot is easy to navigate, which is nice for a TJ's location, and the store is well laid out too. Everything appeared to be well stocked. I want to give one of their workers a shoutout. I am not sure of his name, though. Essentially what happened was that my mom and I turned down an aisle. There was a man standing to the side with a cane, but he was...literally just standing there, so my mom scooted past him with the cart, said "excuse me" and kept walking. I was behind her and overheard the man's wife announce, "Yes, they can go, you have a cane after all!" in this really snarky, nasty tone. I turned and was like, "Was that really necessary? We buried my father YESTERDAY" and called her a not-nice name (if she replied, I didn't hear her -- I was seeing red). A worker nearby WHIPPED his head around and I thought for a second I was going to get kicked out of the store, but instead, he walked up to my mom and offered to help her put a heavy item in her cart. The checkout girl was pleasant too. Thank you to that worker for the small act of kindness at a time when we needed it. I appreciate that TJs workers seem to all practice active empathy no matter the location. read more

This is my favorite grocery store. Things are priced just right. I prefer getting fresh cut flowers from here because of the price and the quality. The produce is of great quality as well. Do try their salad kits which are delicious. They also have ready to eat meal kits. Some of the favorite things to pick up from this grocery store are juices, coconut water, fresh produce, ready to eat salad kits, frozen Indian food, canned fizzy juices, potted plants. Also they have an amazing customer service, the staff is great, super nice and helpful. Have had the same experience in every Trader Joe's store I have been to. Who doesn't love Trader Joe's? This location is not as big as the one I normally go to in Northern Virginia. The flower selection here is extremely subpar as well, because they are normally known for having a large flower selection. They do always get in the new items that I enjoy trying! The employees here are super friendly and they will bag your groceries in the reusable bags you bring, which is super nice! They seem to be doing a pretty good job at handling the COVID-19 madness. When the store gets too busy, there is someone outside diligently tracking the number of customers allowed in to shop. People wait fairly patiently outside in a line, not a lot of room to distance though. There are always wipes to disinfect the carts prior to entering the store. Inside, everything is well stocked with lots of seasonal products available. The staff is busy but helpful. Honestly, it's fellow shoppers that can aggravate! Overall a good shopping experience given the circumstances. read more

I have been thinking about this for awhile. You need to know that I LOVE TRADER JOE's! The experience ... their unique products ... through the years I have frequently complained that the powers behind TRADER JOE's have chosen not to overly expand thus insuring a special experience but .... Yes, but ... and some of you are going to think Dave, the experience is special. Yes it is. Dave, the food is excellent. Yes it all is. BUT ... This Trader Joe's might have one of the THE WORST parking lots of any business that I have ever gone to. This past Saturday's visit almost resulted in two accidents as lustful Trader Joe shoppers to be rush to steal a parking space. Should this be the cause of a 3 star rating after all bad New Jersey drivers is just a reality of life and their driver ed courses were not taught by the staff of Trader Joe's? My answer is, yep ... this ongoing problem for a business that has been situated in this Route 73 location for many years should have been addressed by now. Putting a staff member out on the blacktop with a Hawaiian day glow vest and a brightly colored traffic flag could be very helpful to all. So, after watching two bumpers miss the side of my car one as I entered and one as I left made me realize that this is a business issue deserving of a WARNING WARNING ... only well trained and considerate drivers allowed in the narrow parking area for this store. But ... and perhaps this is the more difficult truth. We all wanted to go to Trader Joe's on Saturday well maybe not the mother-in-law who is sadly starting to choose to avoid social situations. We all wanted to even knowing about the parking reality but when we finally walked out ... we didn't have one single item from the visit. Oh no JOE ... the prices bit a little too much and the selection was limited unless one is headed immediately home to a freezer or refrigerator, which we weren't. I nearly fell backwards when I saw the price of the blueberries ... oh my loan time. And, regular Trader Joe shoppers will understand this one ... it just seemed that on this Saturday the stock levels were lower than on other days. Joe's can be hit of miss. Now, the staff all had those awesome Trader Joe smiles ... friendliness is awesome and I have often thought that TJ's might be a good place for me to work. The store is clean and the free ice tea was cold and fresh ... So, three stars but ... one little truth. Tomorrow, I will be back in the neighborhood but this time immediately after my appointment I will be headed right back to where there is a freezer and refrigerator. And, yes tomorrow I will again fight the bad drivers attempting to find that one open parking space that allows us to head into TRADER JOE's for something good albeit a bit expensive to take home to consumer ... great cheeses; I think I will get cheese ...yea cheese that's it. I had clearly used and disheveled Trader Joe's reusable bags embedded in between food items in my CART. That I walked in the store with in. she had the audacity to say at almost the end of the transaction, did I already buy these dishelved bags because they had a tag on them. The fact that this individual said this when it was more than apparent they were already purchased is disgystung. Why on earth after spending almost 300 dollars on items would someone neglect to purchase a 2 dollar bag!!! She doesn't need to be employed there. Then she ripped off that tag. What's not to love about Trader Joe's? The prices are good, the customer service is top notch, and there are always enough registers open to get you out lickety-split if you are in a hurry. If you need help, you can always find someone, and they will stay until you have found what you need or your issue is resolved. The store is just big enough to have the basic foods you need (although not everything), but not so huge that you get lost in it and can't get out quickly. This location is particularly friendly! Oh, and did I mention they have mini shopping carts for kids?! My kids beg to go shopping with me when it's to Trader Joe's - not sure if it's the shopping carts or the natural lollipops they give them at the register when we check out... :D read more

I am now beginning to see why people prefer Trader Joe's over your standard-issue grocery store. The short answer, the level of service they provide is unbelievably good. The checkout experience is the absolute best at any grocery store, hands down. And the Marlton location is no exception. I now prefer going out of my way to visit this Trader Joe's because of that. Plus, they have some great quality products (and sometimes unique ones depending on the season). Depending on the product, the price can either be a fantastic deal or slightly above average, but not ridiculously higher. Most of the products I get are very affordable for what they offer (minus some produce that includes the cost per item, not per pound). Overall though, they have the most friendly workers working. That alone is reason to shop there before the larger grocery store chains. read more

I'm having the Marlton Board of health close them down tomorrow because of what happened to me and my friend when we came to shop there today. I was in the retail business and I know NO food operation can remain open without toilet facilities for employees and customers if not for anything but to wash their hands and any food utensils. there was not even anyone there who could give me first aid. There is a cult following for TJ's, and if the parking wasn't so hopeless and horrible at this location, I'd come more often. Otherwise come and expect cutthroat competition for a parking spot. I picked up some items I'd been craving for a while - the little chocolate chip cooks and the divine dehydrated mandarin oranges. In my shopping bag to try for the first time: zhoug, falafels and their soup dumplings, all of which came highly recommended. The carrot cake was delish, and so was the rustic Tuscan bread loaf. BURRITOS! Where do I began. For some reason Whole Foods started losing it's luster and I thought why not try Trader Joe's a few miles away. I now have a new awesome favorite grocery shopping destination. As I sit here now wiping the chicken burrito debris with a napkin, I wonder why I never decided to shop here after passing it so many times. (don't worry the review is coming...) Today at 8:30 I decided to go here because I didn't have anything at home to eat. This was suppose to be a quick grab dinner/weekend food and go home trip. It was, but it was also a journey to foodie enlightenment! Okay, I've never seen so many flavorful packaged healthy meals. I prefer preparing all of my meals step by step but I'd never seen a selection like the one here with such affordable prices. So I grabbed a few things (pictured) and proceeded to the check out. These healthy options are great because my schedule is jammed packed and this place has so many options you can keep you diet healthy, and exciting. Now, during the quick trip I went down every aisle (it's really not a gigantic store) and I was constantly overwhelmed at some of the great prices. I especially love the spice area which had awesome spices for 1.99. They also had their store brand hot/cold cereals at decent prices. The multivitamin section was nice, a lot of great vitamins at fair prices. I wanted to buy omega 3 fish oil but they only had horse pill size. The fruits were a little pricey and I still may opt for my local farmers market for those. Over all I can see myself becoming a regular of Trader Joe's. The staff people are great. Very, very friendly. The cashier asked me if I'd found everything okay and I explained I really just wanted to buy these burritos my friend always brings to work. She promptly told me to follow her, and she took me right to the burritos. These burritos are fantastic! They have great quality ingredients and they're only 2.99! If you are in the mood for a burrito I'd say give these a try. I didn't think frozen food could be made which such quality. Complimented with excellent customer service this place is certainly a 5 star establishment. There is always room for improvement but thus far I have no reason to complain. I was in Trader Joe's on Sunday and I can't believe I never gave them a review. As everyone else has mentioned, their customer service is top notch. Trader Joe employees are extremely friendly, happy, polite and helpful. What ever they are on, I want some. Trader Joe's has these little sample coffee and taste testing stands, which I love because I am usually hungry and tired when I go there. This marketing concept works great too. Usually whatever we sample, we end up buying. The return policy is great at TJ's , no questions asked, just bring it back for a full refund. Trader Joe's has an excellent selection and the prices seem reasonable. The expanded store makes things more efficient and they have added some checkout lanes. I have only been to the Marlton location. I would give this Trader Joe's 5 stars but sometimes parking can be crazy and head ache inducing. read more

If the worst thing I can say about an establishment is that the parking lot is jam packed because it's so awesome and everyone wants to be there, then they are doing pretty well! There's a reason people go crazy over this place. The food is amazing, prices and right, and employees are lovely. Every aisle is an adventure. I found so many delicious things here but I'll share some of my highlights. Curry chicken salad-phenomenal! Chicken masala frozen trays are so great and really good weekday dinners. Lentil chips are delightful with their roasted pepper hummus. Frozen French onion soup is really great with some croutons. And the pre-marinated chicken thighs kept me low carbing all week. It's not overwhelmingly big, it's eclectic, has friendly service and even cool handled & artsy shopping BAGS - real bags! Not only do they have the 'staples' that everyone needs (gallon of milk for only $2.79!!!) but they also have unique items (hello pappardelle pasta, which is hard to find at supermarkets, unique chocolates and a bevy of many other food products), greeting cards for only 99 cents and great little impulse items. I'm a fan of their pasta sauce, chocolates and cheeses. Even if I don't need anything, I really enjoy just strolling in here w/ my love and checking out the place! After 3 years in South Jersey, we've recently found this oasis in the grocery store wasteland. I'm not sure if it's because of the quick turns or the fact that they actually know what they're doing but the produce is FRESH all the time. The pre packaged nut / fruit packs are phenomenal and the selection of foods is enjoyably eclectic. We've enjoyed everything we've purchased from fresh chicken breasts to frozen Brie puffs. The only drawback is that it seems we aren't the only ones to dust off this gem. Parking is tough at times but worth the circle or two you may have to make to find a spot. read more

I've been to this location many times, but today I only needed a couple things. Literally, three things. I normally use my debit card, and for some reason it did not work properly. I wanted to shrink into the floor and I was just mortified embarrassed, Play was ringing me up and he immediately came to my rescue. He called a manager over and we tried to work through the transaction, but nothing seems to work I wanted to just run away because I was so embarrassed, but his super helpful manager came over and everything went through except $1.19, so I asked to do a return but at that point they would not let me and his boss and him paid $1.19 that would not process, I was so embarrassed. They did not make me feel bad at all they told me don't worry about a thing, and they took care of it and put a paid sticker on my item and I left completely OK. This might not be that big of a deal to most people, but there's usually never happens to me. I love this chain's foods because they make being a vegetarian easier (while working full time and not having the ability to cool 7 nights of homemade dinners). If you have a special need diet, this is the place for you (since TJ's was started in California). Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, organic, etc. can easily be accommodated with TJ's delicious and varied items. The majority of food available at TJ's is store brand, so while there are specials on certain items, there are not sales or coupons as is the case at the majority of grocery stores. There is a large variety of convenience items that don't taste or feel like convenience food, which I really enjoy. The Indian frozen dinners are imported from India, for example, and the lasagna has real veggies in it (not just shredded veggie pieces). It isn't homemade, but it isn't hamburger helper either. My one complaint is that this store is so good that it is ALWAYS crowded, especially on weekends. They do have every lane open, but the lines still stretch to the first aisle of groceries without fail. The parking lot is a nightmare, and I have decided to not shop here on several occasions after being unable to find a place to park. That being said, if you are able to go during the week, then you will be less likely to deal with crowds and crazy parking lot. :) read more

What to say about Trader Joe's? You walk into one, whether it's in PA, NJ, or some other state, and you see the same scene: a handful of crowded aisles filled with people who bring their own reusable bags and are on the hunt for carrot juice or free lentil soup samples. The only reason I frequent Trader Joe's is for their amazing soy chorizo. I buy 5 packs at a time. It's cheap, meat-free, and tastes better than real chorizo (seriously - try it). Trader Joes is perhaps the best food store on Earth. The End. First of all, if you come there thinking you can replace your nearby Shoprite or Whole Foods -- I encourage you to have a new perspective. Trader Joe's is not as complete as your standard supermarket. But (and it's a big but), they have tons of variety with products you simply can't find at your local supermarket. Veggie 'Bird Nests' (think fried vegetables & flour -- it's awesome!), Olive Oil & Salt Popcorn (I think the secret ingredient is crack but I said nothing), and Ginger Snap Ice-Cream are among a few of the options you can find at Trader Joes that you probably won't find anywhere else. And besides that, Trader Joes brings you the healthiness of Whole Foods, without the price of Whole Food. Or the attitude of Whole Foods. No preservatives, GMO-free, all natural products but with the prices you'd expect to see at your traditional supermarket. Heck, it's sometimes even cheaper. Trader Joes is a supermarket that doesn't excel at any one area persay, but they're very good at all the areas. It's a fun experience, with both healthy and not-so-healthy food, that's preservative/GMO-free, and at a decent price tag. So go check out Trader Joes... and the free samples & coffee bar at the back corner of the store. Especially that. TJ's is a great little grocery place. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. One thing you must try is their one of a kind Cookie Butter spread! AMAZING! They have a lot of unique products of their own brand like this that are fun to try. They're always updating their inventory, so don't get too attached to anything. I appreciate the variety but sometimes it can be a bad thing for this reason. A lot of their selections are sourced locally, which is a great practice. The food and brands they carry can't be found at any other grocery store. The ingredients are good too, no artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oils lurking. It's a reflexively small store with a small selection, but you could probably do small scale grocery shopping here. Four stars instead of five because they have the worst parking lot ever. It's very small and awkward. Going during any busy shopping time during the day is a nightmare and usually a spot within the immediate lot is not available, necessitating parking in adjacent lot by VS. read more

It's really useful to know what you need to buy at a grocery store and what you can buy at Trader Joe's. Some people think it's way too expensive, and yes, it would be if you get all of your groceries from here. The produce, meat, and cheese can really add up to a large grocery bill. If you ask me, this is the place to come if you want to throw a party and get a few random grocery items. They have so many prepared foods that you can whip up in no time. I highly recommend their truffle oil. It glams up anything you put it on - from popcorn to pizza. I also get my quick cook oatmeal and some organic apples from here on a weekly basis. The frozen items as well as the cereal are quite reasonably priced. They always have food to try at their demo station and coffee too. It gives you good ideas as to what you can make if you're entertaining. The staff are super friendly and always ask if they can help you get anything. You can also call ahead and ask if they have an item in stock - if they do they can put items on hold for you at the store Lastly, I want to mention that if you are unsure about whether you want to purchase an item you can ask someone if you can try it. They have done this for me at this location as well as others. I have simply said that I was curious what the dark chocolate covered edamame, gingersnaps, and cookie butter are like and they just pop open the respective lids and let me try it. They are so accommodating! If you are unhappy with an item you can return it for your money back! You can tell they really care about their customers here, and that's what makes shopping here so enjoyable. read more

I love going to Trader Joe's and I have always had a great experience there. Last night in particular was amazing! I was loading my groceries into the car and the handles of the paper bag broke off right in my hand and my bag with dips, eggs, flowers, and pasta sauce in a glass jar went straight to the ground. The glass jar broke all over inside the bag. A store associate named Hannah was at the door as the greeter and monitor of the line and she saw this happen. She came right up to me and took the bag from me and told me to sit tight. She went inside, got all new items for me and added in a couple extra things and brought it out in a reusable bag and told me it was on the house. I appreciated this prompt and amazing approach and made me really impressed with their customer service. Thank you for being amazing, Trader Joe's! read more

I love this Trader Joe's! Everyone is so nice here as in every Trader Joe's, but the staff here really enjoy their jobs. I come here for everything: flowers, wine, snacks, appetizers for parties, ice cream, and even body (lotion soaps etc.) products. Trader Joe's really has great customer service. I once returned something, that i had already opened/used but did not enjoy, and they gave me my money back. Keep in mind this location does get busy post-work as it is on the way home for many people in the Marlton/Cherry hill area. read more

Trader Joe's seem to have different personalities depending on where you go. The one I frequent the most in Westfield, NJ has a rather small town feel to it. Indeed, it was once only about 2/3 of the size it is now. It expanded to accommodate its large customer base. Still it doesn't often get too crazy (outside of prime time weekend shopping hours) so whenever I do go to a crazy TJ's (I'm looking at you Union Square) it's a bit jarring. So it was when I went to this branch that i was surprised to find that in the late afternoon this TJ's was in full shopping hysteria mode. I got bumped into by multiple shopping carts, it was hard to get down aisles and the free sample stations appeared to be under siege. While a bit annoying, this kind of tells you the level of enthusiasm people have for this place, and I will tell you - had it not been so crowded this TJ's would've been more than spacious enough to glide through with a cart and a friend. Just be warned it can get a bit crazy on weekends. The selection and prices here were what you would expect. The layout is a bit different than what I'm used to. When you come in the registers are to the left and the store angles off to the right. The aisles are pretty wide. Compared to say, the Chelsea TJ's, I'd consider this a "medium" sized one. The folks working this branch were very courteous and friendly. Our cashier was very sweet and literally gave us service with a smile. To really appreciate this branch, I'd recommend going on an "off hour", like a Tuesday night or something. read more

While this place is Vegan friendly and you really can't beat some of the prices ($1.79 Tempeh!), I find the inventory to be a bit unreliable. In fact, I don't think I've ever left TJ's with every item checked off of my list. This doubly sucks because they have so many unique items that just can't be found elsewhere! To their credit, they always ask if I found everything okay. However, there isn't much they can really do at that point except apologize. I believe it's possible to put in a special order, but I can't rate higher until I'm able to walk in at my convenience at get what I need. I ventured out of the boredom of my parents' house to Trader Joe's this afternoon for my favorite snack foods and fresh produce. When I arrived, it seemed that the doomsday crowd had already hit and many of the freezer and non-perishable aisles were empty. Within minutes, their staff were diligently restocking with boxes of new shipments. I also had a pleasant conversation with my cashier where she gave me a recipe based on a new item I was trying. This Trader Joe's isn't different in size/what it carries compared to some of the others we've been to. People are nice, some items are really good (my family is very fond of the marinated mushrooms for instance), but have had mixed experience with some of the other items. Glad that they started carrying more meat items (sausages, prosciutto sampler, etc.). Like Fresh Fields, just wished they carried more "regular" items, as there's times where you don't need to be 100% organic/vegetarian. Overall, though, a good experience. I really love that you can stop in here and always walk out happy. My favorite item at TJ's is the Creamy Corn and Roasted Pepper soup. Super creamy, flavorful with it's poblano peppers and NO dairy in it :) Beautiful flowers, delicious cheeses, tasty prosciutto, cookie butter, israeli couscous, sushi.. all great things at the right price. The parking lot is a bit of a hassle, but once you get inside, friendly employees and quick moving lines. read more

My wife and I are big Trader Joe fans and I usually have good experiences but felt compelled to write this about my butter chicken purchase. We have purchased this product before and loved it. Chicken in a curry sauce. This time there was NO chicken inside. Guess the packer(s) forgot to put the chicken pieces in the box, so all I got was rice and sauce. I paid for the item, they forgot to give it to me. I needed that item immediately and I called the store asking to deliver it to me. I thought it was logical, they made a mistake, they should fix it. Manager Kyle refused to help me, offering his 'Sorry' instead. I'm very disappointed with is treatment. I'm a dedicated customer of this store I'm Marlton, NJ.
