Saxby's Coffee House | Haddonfield NJ was a great find on a rainy Saturday morning. From the moment I walked in, the place was buzzing with people and energy, which made it feel exciting and very local compared to big national chains. There were plenty of hot and cold drink options, baked goods to choose from, and lots of tables and workspaces with people either getting work done or catching up with friends. We ordered a hot black coffee and a hot mocha, both were spot on and very reasonably priced for Haddonfield. If you enjoy supporting local coffee shops with good vibes and solid drinks, this is a great place to do some work or spend time with friends and is definitely a must stop. read more

Love this location! The staff are so nice and helpful! So many different coffee sones I don't drink coffee but there are also lots of add ons for tea and tea lattes. The matcha vanilla raspberry latte is so good! Lots of window seating so you can people watch while taking a break from shopping. Tables are also available. It's located on the main shopping street so it's easy. A clean bathroom is also available. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserves attention. I showed up at Saxby's coffee in Haddonfiels during regular business hours, only to be completely ignored at the door. Employees inside saw me -- made eye contact -- and then proceeded to act as if I didn't exist because they were fratenizing with one another. No greeting. No acknowledgment. Nothing. Just awkward avoidance, as if I was somehow an inconvenience for trying to give them my business. When the manager finally did approach to open the door, 10 minutes after the poster opening hour, she was visibly upset with me because I interrupted her fun time. This isn't just unprofessional -- it's flat-out rude. In a time when small businesses claim they're struggling, you'd think basic customer service would matter. Apparently not here. It's been years since I've visited Saxbys, but the staff here made my day. They have an extensive selection of speciality drink flavors, and their seasonal cold brews looked phenomenal. I ordered the medium "Cafe Vienna" (vanilla + cinnamon) iced latte with oat milk and it came out to around $7. I complimented the barista's Taylor Swift TTPD hat, and they gave me a friendship bracelet in return The absolute sweetest, very patient and kind. First time back this year, as usual prices went up, size of small coffee didn't get bigger though, now $3.15. Saxbys is a chain coffee shop with locations around the greater Philadelphia area. I've only ever been to the Haddonfield location since I live here in town. I've been here several times over the years. It's a perfectly fine coffee shop with plenty of food and drink options, but nothing that makes it truly stand out. I was last here on a Saturday afternoon in November. We were here for about an hour with a steady stream of customers the whole time, and there were five employees working quickly and efficiently behind the counter the entire time. Kudos to them for their hard work and putting out drinks quickly. Nothing terribly special about the menu or the decor that makes it stand out. Good place to grab a drink and walk around downtown Haddonfield, or to meet a friend for a bit. I'm not a coffee drinker but I do enjoy their chai and their sandwiches. I wouldn't want to stay much longer though and nothing super special about it to make me want to be a regular. read more

Our first experience here was great. Such friendly staff and the iced berry love latte was delicious! So delicious we had to stop by again yesterday for a second time. It felt like the staff was less friendly, but maybe it was just a long day for them! The latte was good, but not as fabulous as the first time. I got the Bananas for Strawberries smoothie and vegan breakfast bagel sandwich with pesto. Since going vegan (and even vegetarian), I have not had a sandwich this good in so long. It tasted fresh and like an upgraded Dunkin Donuts with the pesto and spinach. The smoothie was classic and refreshing. The ambience is cozy and you will likely find people working or studying in the restaurant. There are outlets accessible on the walls which makes for easy charging. Just had the most unfortunate experience at Saxby's. Im a customer of 5 years and have never had a problem with this location. Today was an awful ordeal. I called the the establishment about five times. The first couple of times were ignored and on the third time someone picked up the phone and put it down so I could hear the commotion but no one was answering to take my order. Then they clicked the phone off and I called two more times and they ended the calls immediately. The main reason I was calling because I know it takes some time to prepare breakfast sandwiches with orders. The employees were acting childish with the phone so my friend and I drove down there to order in person. When we arrived there was no line at all, it was about 10:20 am and I started providing my order. As we are ordering the women there start trash talking the caller in front of us! It was so absurd. Then my friend used her phone while I was ordering to call to see if they would pick up the call but instead they denied it again. My friend spoke up and said I just called you and you denied my call. Their response was I'm sorry we've been so busy. I responded with that's fine but there's no one here now. There was a total of four staff there. When they found out we had been calling they were snickering and being very rude. The women who took our order gave us a stamp card because she felt bad but it was quite the ordeal. Then a man brought our food out to eat there even though we asked for it to go. Then he brings it out wrapped up and rolls his eyes at my friend. I believe our meal should have been fully comped because of how the employees treated us. We were bullied and treated unfairly and I don't think this is how Mike wants to run his business. If this situation would have been rectified to the best of its abilities I wouldn't be leaving such a negative review. I truly think staff needs to go through a hospitality and care course so they can learn to treat individuals more appropriately when they are serving them. I hope to hear from the owner on how he can resolve this situation for me since I've been a long time customer and this is the first time I've truly been appalled. read more

I dunno, man. You'd be kind of hard pressed to find a tastier coffee shop around. I moved to Collingswood near the end of 2020 and in all my time of exploring the surrounding areas, Saxbys remains one of my favorite coffee spots in the whole of the northeast. As a disclaimer, I've not had their plain coffee. I usually get a simple latte, or, if I'm feeling fancy, a specialty drink. So this may be more of a "dessert-y" type coffee place, I'm not totally sure. But if that's your jam, I've probably tried four or five of the speciality drinks over time and my god. They never miss. (They have one called a Campfire that's toasted marshmallow and chocolate and another called a Cinnamon Bear which is white chocolate and cinnamon. It gets even more delicious from there.) *The caveat: As dope as this place is, it's usually poppin' off inside. That is to say, don't necessarily expect to nab a seat because chances are the lobby is bursting. (I checked the one star reviews and someone mentioned the attitude on the older barista/manager during a busy time inside. I dealt with him today also during a busy time, and honestly? He's obviously just trying to do his job. People, let's cut food service staff some slack, okay?) Come to Saxbys! read more

Sticky tables but great coffee and sandwiches. Unfortunately, when I went there one of the tables was very sticky. Not pleasant. Anyway, the pesto grilled cheese is amazing! So crunchy. I'm told the router was under the register, which isn't too far from me but the cashier suggested I move my seat. I've come to saxbys many times before and love the experience every time. The sandwiches are amazing. They have great options for vegans for food and drinks. Highly recommend trying their different coffee flavors. Although, I am not a huge fan of their matcha. The matcha was very powdery/grainy and not well mixed. Their coffee is excellent along with the caprese sandwich. Haddonfield is also a great town to sit outside and enjoy coffee and sandwiches. Definitely recommend if in the area. read more

The workers are horrible here. If you're ever in the mood to be looked down upon this is the place for you!! The workers are incredibly rude and the coffee is mediocre (good coffee could've justified poor customer service but here it doesn't). They act as if I'm an inconvenience to them. Don't order anything that's too complicated (milks, cold foam, syrups) or you've committed a sin. Don't ask any questions or you're the idiot. Don't even breathe or look at them. There are a million drink options, something for everyone. The space has limited seating which is inconvenient but not a deal breaker. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the drinks have a sort of "fake" taste my guess is it's the syrup they use. Great corner coffee shop for small snack and meals. Positives are that it offers coffee, tea and other warm and cold beverages that are pretty good. Also offers meals that are brought to your table. Great fast service and friendly staff. Seating is limited in some areas to the left of the front door but I assume it for wheelchairs or strollers. Tables fill up fast, there could be a couple more two tops! Dogs are allowed which can be good or bad, depends on your preference. Negatives are that there is one bathroom which gets busy quickly and backed up. The bathroom isn't cleaned often and runs out of supplies quickly as well. read more

This is a really nice spot! I was recommended this place by a friend who goes here to study frequently. I went on a weekday morning, and it was actually packed with people studying/working in the cafe. It's definitely a nice environment to sit and work in, but it was a little more crowded than I expected. Their variety of drinks is great - they have non-dairy options and non-coffee options - I had one called Vanilla Love, and it was great. This is a nice corner location in downtown Haddonfield. Parking is really hard but that's to be expected in this area. The inside is spacious but pretty drab and lacking in any aesthetic. Tables are always a little grimy and not very well cleaned. There are weird long tables and high tops that aren't very convenient for 1-2 people or for working for a few hours. It's more of a spot to grab and go, or to meet a single friend. It also gets really noisy. Coffee is decent for a chain store. Service is pretty fast even though I always see only one person making drinks. It takes longer to order as there's usually a line and only one person at the register. The worst part of this coffee shop is that they let everyone bring their wet, barking, germ-infested dogs inside. This HAS to be a health code violation but it seems like the norm in Haddonfield (the Starbucks down the street also allows dogs). This is incredibly unsanitary as the dogs are right near where food and drinks are made and served. I've also observed people's dogs fight and bark inside--not exactly a warm or inviting experience. We're considering reaching out to the township or county health board because the amount of food businesses in Haddonfield blatantly allowing non-service animals inside is troubling. With most places not being that clean to begin with, this only adds to the grossness. read more

It was okay. Nothing special. The customer service wasn't great. We asked the gentleman taking or order how he was doing today and he looked the other way. Then I asked what his favorite cold brew was (because they have four options) and he completely ignored me. Don't know if he didn't hear me or what. We order salted Carmel cold brew, it was okay. I enjoy the taste of coffee and this tasted like straight water and Carmel, and salt. We ordered the egg sandwich. Two huge slices of bread, maybe had some butter on it, but was dry with egg, and two small slices of bacon. Again nothing to rave about. I had the GOAT. Goat cheese, egg, spinach, and red pepper aioli. Good flavor but again nothing to rave about. The waitress that served us, was literally running through the restaurant, seemed to be in an absolute hurry and seemed like there it was BUSY, but it wasn't that busy. read more

I stopped in Saxby's quickly on a recent Sunday afternoon during a ride with some friends on our bikes. The place is on the corner and is pretty spacious with several tables. I hope they move some seating outside now that Spring has long last arrived. The service was very good and there are quite a few selections. They have a good variety of food items also and a lot of families were there. Its is pleasant inside and the other customer's seemed happy. It did seem a bit Strabucks-esque. The coffee to me was just OK and still no match for La Colombe in Philly. Saxby's should do well. It's in Haddonfield and the town can support two coffee shops easily right in town. I'll give it another go sometime and try some food but I like to support the independent places like Jersey Java that is also in Haddonfield, but just outside of Kings Highway main shopping district and the coffee is better too at Jersey Java in my opinion. read more

Came here to get some school work done and really enjoyed myself! It was pleasant and quite. Typical coffee shop feel. My coffee was tasty and made well. Nothing spectacular. I think the location is the best thing this coffee shop has going for it. Right in the heart of Haddonfield! The menu is lengthy and I didn't have the opportunity to order any picky foods but I will likely be back to try! It was a tad crowded and the only available tables were kind of messy. (Understandable) but I would have preferred a clean table to enjoy my coffee and complete my work on. I look forward to spending more time and trying more beverages and foods! Cute place! After giving Saxbys a few more chances, here is my verdict: My mind hasn't been changed all that much. The one girl recognized me a couple weeks back and asked if I had cut my hair (I did) and we talked for a bit, which was nice, though as I sat at a small table doing some out of the office work for a couple hours in the middle of the day, the manager seemed perturbed, even though the shop wasn't full or anywhere near full. Nonetheless, I went back up to place another order to not feel so awkward. I *did* find a drink that I like: the cookies and cream blended creme. However, it's way too expensive to regularly buy! Plus, I need caffeine. The iced coffee, even when sweetened, just wasn't all that great. Like I said previously, I waited many months, eagerly awaiting Saxby's arrival, but alas, it was a bit of a letdown. Luckily, there's still Starbucks. read more
