I should lead with my personal coffee connection. I am a coffee enthusiast, I have 7 different methods of brewing, have had multiple burr grinders, and typically buy expensive single origins from boutique roasters all over the country and world. To be honest, Talk N Coffee is traditionally something I would've been uninterested. However. On my first visit today, I was supremely impressed. The owner and roaster was extremely friendly and was more then happy to answer my weird questions and riff on grinders (he had just gotten a new one). He demonstrated excellent knowledge and passion. I selected something I traditionally wouldn't, the Fire Cracker coffee, one flavored like a Rocket Pop, and I was supremely impressed. The flavors are clear, but don't overshadow the coffee. Beans are single dosed, which is EXTREMELY uncommon outside of metros, and each one is handled with immense care. And for regular coffee lovers, like my wife, who love their Dunkin or Starbucks, the flavors offer the full flavor without the sugar. A peanut butter cup cold brew with milk goes twice as far as a similar drink elsewhere in flavor with probably 5% the calories. Highly recommend, even for fellow snobs. read more

Last week I was looking for a coffee shop on my drive from Jersey back to the Philly area. Talk N Coffee only added a few minutes to my trip so I decided to give it a try. It ended up being a great pit stop, so if you're making a similar drive or if you live in the area, I would recommend a visit. I ordered a "Caf'e Mocha" which is described on the menu as "a cappuccino with a shot of fudge." It looked like they just shot some Hershey's chocolate syrup in there but regardless, it tasted great. The staff member preparing it asked if I wanted to add any sugar, but it was very smooth with no bitterness, so I didn't feel like it needed anything additional. I'm sure the chocolate syrup added a good deal of sugar, but it tasted pretty balanced to me. I also picked up a sample bag of coffee since the woman working told me that the owner roasts all the beans in-house. I went with Butter Pecan, but there were many tempting choices to choose from. Besides the sample bags, there are a good amount of other coffee and tea products available for purchase. This seems like it would be a good place to pick up a gift for a coffee- or tea-lover in your life. Even though it was a short interaction, service was very good. I ran into a couple of regulars in the shop today. "This is the best coffee within a 50 mile radius" what a compliment. I explored their offerings and did not feel rushed. They were gearing up to start the roasting process unfortunately I couldn't stay until it got started, but it was pretty cool to their process. The aroma was pleasant and refreshing. Not overpowering at all. I left with a cup of coffee todays offering was "Fire Cracker" with raspberry, vanilla and blueberry". For me the blueberry took it. I was concerned with the flavorings but it was nice and smooth. Even black it was refreshing. I took home a few one pot samples for $2.99 a piece and a flavor addition. It's extremely hard to find a "Mom & Pop" coffee shop anymore, but TNC has been top notch for years. I think their sign says that they have been open since 1992; which is a testament to the word of mouth in the area. When a place is good, you keep coming back. I've purchased bags of ground coffee(that they grind for you on the spot) for a few years now and have never been disappointed. My favorite, and I think those who I gifted it to, is the seasonal Irish Potato. It tastes JUST like the homemade ones that I have grown up watching my Father make and now I make, around St. Patrick's Day. I will probably be stopping by against this Fall, for Pumpkin and other Fall flavors. Last but certainly not least, and potentially the most important thing in regards to a business.......the customer service that I have dealt with has been the uttermost of friendly and kind. I don't know if she's the owner or just works for TNC, but this older woman who has waited on me each time, is one of the sweetest women I have met. She reminds you of "everyone's Grandmom." This is a review of the online shop of Talk N' Coffee. I ordered two bags of coffee and the package arrived damaged. The package was torn open all the way across the top and someone had put it in a plastic bag with a piece of tape on the side. Also, crumpled inside was the packing slip. The thing that bothered me the most was that one of the bags of coffee had a tear at the top of the bag. I was not comfortable in consuming the bags of coffee. The first thing I did was take cell phone pictures of the damaged package and then I called the post office. The post office told me they could not help me because I was not the shipper. Before calling the company on Monday, I was ready with my pictures to email them and was also prepared to return the damaged package to the company for a replacement. When I called and informed them of my problem, the person I talked with said he would mail me a replacement that same day. I asked if I should call the post office again and about returning the damaged package to them. He told me there was no need to do anything. I, then, threw the two bags away. Two days later, my two bags of coffee arrived in perfect condition. There is only one word to describe their customer service and that word is OUTSTANDING! On a side note, their organic flavored coffees are delicious (especially the Hazelnut). What's better than organic coffee with 100% chemical solvent free flavoring. read more

I stopped in here on a whim with my brother and was blown away. They make all their coffee in-house, you could even see the roasting machines in their back room. The smell is euphoric. They have a daily flavored coffee pick of the day, chocolate covered espresso beans, flavored teas and on your way out order something from the coffee bar. This is my second time coming here. I saved my review the first time because I wanted to love this place and my I didn't the first time. The second time was more of the same. I love the idea of this mom and pop owned coffee roaster. I've only met the female owner and she is absolutely delightful. But the coffee doesn't blow me away; it's ok, not great. And when I make a cup to go they offer mini moos instead of half and half. I think if I spend $2 on a medium coffee I should be offered real half and half instead of chemical laden creamer. I stopped in here because I am always looking for good coffee or cappuccino. The name led me to believe that they serve coffee and probably have a seat or two to sit and drink it and talk. They don't. I don't blame this place. This is a pet peeve I have with Yelp that they don't have as part of their survey that you have a place to sit and EAT IN. Yelp has ignored this...but I digress. These folks are coffee roasters and in addition sell cups of coffee out of carafes or they'll make you an espresso or cappuccino to order. I bought two half pounds of beans to go (I'll update this review once I have had a chance to grind and brew them.) and we ordered two cappuccinos. These are made with the house blend. The cappuccinos were a bit milky - more like lattes - and I could hardly taste the coffee. I would rather support a small business like this one rather than the coffee chains but it is hard to do so when the product does not support it. Perhaps they were having a bad day as they have a sign hanging out that they were voted best coffee in Gloucester County. There is no place to sit inside. There is a high top table that has sugar and other condiments so it's really a grab and go kind of place. Hopefully the beans fare better. Update on the beans: I'm just updating this, many months later but I had the coffee many months ago. It was definitely fresh, and roasted in house. The beans were a bit wet. I put my coffee in the freezer. It seems to stay fresher longer. However, the beans stuck together upon removal. I guess they are still steamy when they package them. Since I have a mill, and not a chopper, getting the coffee out was a pain. It's fresh, and good but not without challenges. read more

I first patronized this fine establishment in 1998 now over twenty years ago and can tell you that Steve and Elaine are passionate about coffee and have a very unique approach to operating South Jersey's best roast operation. I love this place dearly and Steve and Elaine along with the amazing and sweet Jackie are customer service experts with respect to how they treat the customer and educate the customer on all of their amazing offerings! Steve brings his over 1/4 century of roasting experience to the table and has won my allegiance many years ago. If you are in the Deptford NJ area and love fine roasted coffee as opposed to substandard commercial coffee for your home-brewing methods, you owe it to yourself to pick up a pound! WOW! I am by no means a coffee connoisseur. But when I visited Talk N Coffee for the first time on the arm of my wife, I was blown away! The aroma of the store when you first walk in the door is refreshing. There are countless varieties of coffee to choose from... Caffeinated and Decaf... even flavors I never knew existed in coffee (like Snickerdoodle)! The staff is so warm and friendly, you just want to set up shop and camp there for awhile! Their pricing is very fair. But don't dare use the "c" word (cheap) when you talk about Talk N Coffee. There is nothing "cheap" about the quality of products and service. read more

I really liked the vibe of this place, very small and family owned and very welcoming. We came in early and were greeted warmly and they even pointed out the roaster they have in-house. As for the coffee, I've had better, but I have also had much worse. I just got the drip coffee they had brewed, and my GF ordered a latte. Yes there is a reason Talk N Coffee is five stars and they whole heartedly deserve every star. I'm slowly learning more and more about various blends of coffee, beans, etc, but any questions you have can directed to the staff. The friendly female owner will answer any questions that you have and is very engaging with her customers. My buddy bought beans here for a coffee beer that he brewed, and it came out great! They also have hot coffee to go, which seems to be their featured blend. Every town could use a Talk N Coffee but until then, you'll just have to travel to this one to get your fill. read more

I was recently gifted a bag of Talk N Coffee's French Roast and I have to say it is one of the best coffees I've ever had! My husband and I like our coffee very bold with a nice oily sheen across the top and this definitely delivered.
