Avocado toast not it. Bread was hard and too much citrus. But the shop is cute af. One of those places you can order a coffee and get tons of work done. Long version: Avo Toast- two bread options: whole grain and sourdough. I'm not a sourdough person so by default it's whole grain. The bread was a tad hard so there goes the bread part lol. The avocado spread itself was too acidic-ky. They overdid it on the hit of citrus. Coffee- I opted for the Dubai pistachio kataifi latte. It tasted good, however, there were barely any notes of the pistachio flavor I was hoping to taste. Can't call it dubai pistachio and not have the flavor come thru. It was lowkey disappointing. The cafe is itty bitty; enough for maybe 5 people to hang out. They had a few outdoor tables/benches and It looked like they were adding more seating on a little patio very soon. So cute. The ordering process (for lack of better words) is idiot- proof. Theres a touch screen where you place the order yourself, but they also have control of it on their side, so if you need help they can help! Super innovative. Most of the espresso+milk drinks ( latte, shaken espresso, etc.) were around $8.50. For Starbucks I'd probably say no thanks, HOWEVER for a local shop like this with unique flavors, I am absolutely willing to pay that. I felt that for the latte I got, it was 100% worth it. It tasted like a legit slice of banana bread and was decently sized. It seems like they put a lot of time, effort, and money into creating the flavors, which I really respect. I worked at a coffee shop for some time and it is lots of work. I appreciate seeing cafes have individuality and genuinely try hard to create something people will love. The manager took my order. I know she is the manager because I saw the TikTok of her guessing drink flavors by getting them thrown at her, actually hilarious, sorry queen. (They are slaying the social media marketing). She was kind, helpful, and didn't make me feel rushed when ordering. And the girl who made my drink was very quick while making sure the quality was the best it could be. I love supporting locally owned businesses, and I love to support locally owned women owned businesses even more. I ordered a shot of espresso, and was impressed with the quality of the pull. The barista mentioned the beans are from Evermore, and I love their coffee. I also ordered a sandwich. First I tried to get the El Cubanito but they were out of the ham to make it. I pivoted to the Pavo Loco, and it turned out to be quite tasty. It's a simple sandwich, but the toasted bread they used was high quality. Prior reviews mentioned poor service but I was impressed with the customer service. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable, and my items were very good. It does seem like stock is an issue so that's something for them to smooth out.

To be honest, Talk N Coffee is traditionally something I would've been uninterested. However. On my first visit today, I was supremely impressed. The owner and roaster was extremely friendly and was more then happy to answer my weird questions and riff on grinders (he had just gotten a new one). He demonstrated excellent knowledge and passion. I selected something I traditionally wouldn't, the Fire Cracker coffee, one flavored like a Rocket Pop, and I was supremely impressed. The flavors are clear, but don't overshadow the coffee. Beans are single dosed, which is EXTREMELY uncommon outside of metros, and each one is handled with immense care. And for regular coffee lovers, like my wife, who love their Dunkin or Starbucks, the flavors offer the full flavor without the sugar. A peanut butter cup cold brew with milk goes twice as far as a similar drink elsewhere in flavor with probably 5% the calories. Highly recommend, even for fellow snobs.

She also ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The Blonde Hawaiian was delicious! The toffee nut with the coconut and vanilla was sweet and yummy. My mom's s'mores latte was good, but she did say it was a tad too sweet for her liking so if you're not into sweets maybe ask for less syrup. Bonus points to Rise N Grind though because I watched the barista use a mini torch to roast a marshmallow for my mom's drink. It was adorable and such a nice touch! She really liked the bagel and said that they were very generous with the cream cheese spread as well. You can grab a cub of coffee and then walk to The Shoppes at Medford Mill so it's a nice little pick-me-up.
