Oops - we were too eager to dive into the individual chocolates that we bought! My daughter and I absolutely love chocolate and wanted a little taste-a taste-a before we headed home. Not only were the chocolates like works of art, beautiful, but they were rich and creamy as well. Many had floral decorations on them. There was a nice selection of unique Father's Day cards too. To be very honest, I've not spent even a minute in this shop. However, I have received chocolates from here as gifts for a couple of years around the holidays. The dark chocolate bark with peppermint is just incredible. The "candy cane" peppermint is dusted for a touch of flavor on a dark chocolate thin slab. The chocolates mixed box is delightful. Can't help but get vibes from the movie "Chocolat" whenever I come here. The same elegance, quality, and passion from the movie are all on clear display. Enter this exquisit shop on Kings Highway and you'll be smothered in an otherworldly aroma of chocolate. Seriously, the rich smell is reason enough to visit. The chocolates themselves are luxurious, decadent, and worth every penny. Bonus points for frequently collaborating with my favorite brewery - Kings Road Brewery right down the street - when creating chocolates. Stopped by this cute little local chocolate shop on v-day. Bought an 8pc box that I chose the flavors (pre picked boxes are available as well). Chocolates were amazing - got a variety, but most notable were the pomegranate pistachio (suggested to me) and the passion fruit and normally I am not a huge fan of chocolate and fruit flavors. I have visited chocolate shops across the US over the past 15 years with my personal favorite being Marie Belle in NYC... until now. I stopped in Mecha today and was instantly impressed with the high end display and overall build out of the space. Melissa, one of the owners introduced herself and explained her vision and passion for using unique flavor profiles with her chocolates and caramels in addition to having the classic pairings one would expect at an artisan chocolate boutique. I decided on a six piece of assorted "sea salted caramels" and a six piece of "fall favorites" caramels and ganaches. Both packages were beautifully wrapped and had guides to identify what each piece was. At only $12 per six piece, the quality of these chocolates are a steal. In NYC I've paid in excess of $20 for the same thing of lesser quality. What really blew my mind was the Thai Ginger caramel, Spanish Rosemary caramel, and pumpkin pie ganache. You could tell Melissa loved talking about sweets and is passionate about what she does. I wish Mecha nothing but success and plan on returning this holiday for some perfect stocking stuffers and welcome gifts. read more

I can not say enough positive things about mecha. I stumbled upon a stand at a local farmers market and have been a loyal customer since. The owner is the sweetest woman and you can tell she truly cares about quality and customer service. After the farmers market closed for the season I started visiting the shop. I have tried (most) of her seasonal boxes and a few of the barks. I love that a lot of the chocolates are made with dark chocolate and they have so many fun flavors! The fig and almond bark is also incredible. And while you're there get the hot chocolate mix! It's the best hot chocolate I've had in my life. read more

Wow what a find! We've tasted fine chocolates from all over, including San Francisco, NYC, and Brussels. Michele is making true artisan chocolates right here in south Jersey. She is creative with her recipes, and has a good palate. She is using very fine ingredients, and has beautiful molds. The result is wonderful chocolate at an affordable price.
