I don't understand why this spot is so crowded. I got two breakfast sandwiches and an iced latte. Idk who they get their bagels from or if they make them in house but man they are just not good (not fresh) and the egg in it was completely overcooked. My latte was just ok. It was $28 for everything which is wild for the quality. And overall the cafe is just dirty and unkept. Again not sure the hype. I don't think I'll come back. read more

Stopped in here while killing some time on a random mid morning in the area. Decided to get some coffee and vittles before starting the day. We walk in to a very spacious dining area. The vibes are "cozy, coffee snob but they're cool about." We decide to go with an Americano for me, a cappuccino for the misses, two breakfast sandwiches and a peanut butter chocolate muffin for The Little One. Meh. My Americano tasted like TEA. Like straight up Earl Gray. I let The Misses try before I told her what I ordered, and she said, "why did you order TEA?" By that point, it was busy and I didn't feel like making a fuss about it, but if you dilute my DOUBLE espresso so much it tastes like tea, or you just straight up gave me the wrong drink, we are off to a bad start. The misses Cappuccino cup was half full, and half of that half was foam. And the part that wasn't foam wasn't even good. I'm sensing that you just shouldn't get anything involving espresso from the ol Brown Dog Cafe. The breakfast sandwiches were also.....meh. They worked, but absolutely nothing you couldn't get microwaved from Starbucks or Dunkin. Now the muffin was an absolute winner. I'll give Mimi her credit here. Maybe they should turn into a bakery and forego the coffee stuff. ANYwho...I don't see a reason to go back. Our table was dirty where we sat, and we actually just cleaned it ourselves with wipes before sitting down. We cleaned it ourselves after for whomever would come in after us, since it was clear the staff weren't going to do it. It's a cozy place to settle in and eat a muffin and maybe a regular coffee, but I certainly wouldn't be ordering another Americano from them anytime soon. read more

Went here for a quick drink and snack. Very spacious and cute inside with many people working on laptops. Outdoor seating area as well! Kind baristas working here. I got the iced London Fog Matcha (really good) and the Ham and Cheese Croissant (not that good, would pass next time, tasted a little strange and couldn't taste the ham). We made a quick stop at Brown Dog Cafe a few weeks ago to try some coffee for the first time there. It's a cute spot, bigger inside than I thought! It's definitely Brown-Dog vibes inside, if that makes sense. Lots of wood fixtures and very cozy. My iced coffee was pretty tasty. The staff were nice, but it did seem like they were a bit tired, totally understandable though since it was a weekend morning. We'll definitely be back to try more drink flavors and snacks. read more

I was looking for a place to stop and get coffee before work and stumbled into this gem! Not only is it located in a cute strip with easy parking but as soon as you walk in the atmosphere is very cozy and bright! They decorate very well and looks like a great place to work from home! Lots of outlets! But the workers were very very kind and helped with picking out their favorites for the season food wise and drinks! I 10/10 recommend and will be coming back here for my morning coffee from now on! read more

We ordered two iced lattes--one oat, the other almond. As we were waiting, we looked for seating , but everywhere was dirty. From the couches with weeks worth of crumbs stuck in the crevices, to seats next to the windows where I counted five dead flies on. We decided to take out drinks to go. The espresso wasn't good. The food is good. The service is excellent. They offered my foster dog a pup cup the moment they saw him come in. The ladies at the counter were very sweet. It's a cafe where you order at the counter and pick up your food before grabbing a table of your choice. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, with some music playing in the background. Very relaxing. PS. Excellent cafe with such a cute open vibe! It's a great spot to meet with friend a or get some work done. You have to try their house made syrups- the lavender in an iced latte was amazing. An absolute win. To be fair, the selection wasn't vast by any means, but that's why we check menus before we go, people! Came in on a Saturday morning around 11 and it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. I think a big part of it is the cafe itself is very spacious! Solid wood furniture and a warm ambiance, tables spaced a respectable distance from each other (COVID or not, nobody wants to be jammed literally back to back with strangers!) and huge windows in the front to let in all the lovely light. I got an iced mocha with- get this- FLAVORED cold foam. They have a few varieties (mocha, vanilla, caramel) but I decided to try the Beehive (or Honey Bee? I forget, something with "bee" in it) cold foam. Let me tell you- HEAVENLY. Honey, brown sugar and cinnamon topping my weekend treat and I was so pleased with it! The baristas were really friendly, joking around with each other and us. The girl working the reg was super cute and helpful and the man behind the espresso machine worked that thing like a pro. My friend got a small oat milk latte with whipped cream and it was so good that she got a second one before we left, which is unlike her. I asked for a quote directly from the source and got this: "Oh, an oat milk latte with whipped cream- just delightful! Creamy, smooth, not bitter, just how I like it!" Get: Smoked Elderberry Oatmilk latte Oof it pains me this café is far away from me....great cafe! Easily in the top 5 cafes I've been to in 2021, possibly top 3. As soon as I walked in here, I loved the large amount of space and large tables that are separated from other patrons. I also love the whimsical décor. It's unique. Talking to the barista, I could just tell he knew his stuff and I was ready for a splendid cup of coffee. I asked the barista what is special here and he guided me to the Smoked Elderberry Latte where the sugar and elderberry has been smoked for hours. He said if I didn't like it, he would make me something else. (love that). It delivered. It's special....You can taste the espresso. It's not burnt but its powerful and is not covered by the oatmilk. The elderberry and sugar make it a sweet drink but it really doesn't hit that too sweet mark. This cup of coffee is special...I haven't had anything quite like it They use elixir coffee beans..this is the first time ive tried it. I could feel myself work here for hours. Jazzy Christmas music playing in the background. There is some natural light that comes through. But its dark but the use of edison light bulb makes it feel dreamy rather than dreary. I was excited to try another cup but as this was my second latte...so I had 8 espressos so far, I figured I might need to calm my caffeine consumption. I will def be back to try other coffees on their menu. I'm a fan! read more

Carryout lunch on a Tuesday when several other shops were closed. Large and clean inside with a limited, but appetizing sandwich menu. I went with a turkey, bacon, guacamole, and havarti on a croissant and my wife ordered chicken salad on a croissant. Both were very good and came with chips. It was a good stop. The emphasis apparently is about coffee, latte, teas, and expresso. Maybe next time we'll do a sit down and try their beverages with a sandwich. read more

Absolutely adore this place!!! I work from home and sometimes need a change of scenery. This is my favorite place to go! It's always a good vibe and it's a bonus that cute dogs are guests too. Their drinks are made well and the food is good too. The chicken salad on a za'atar croissant is my favorite! Don't sleep on the fall menu - "Sweater Weather" might be the best coffee I've ever had. The barista who wears the cutie bandanas is my favorite - she is so sweet, but also doesn't over-sweeten the drinks! read more

I have been back many times and remain so thankful that this place is local and that I can support it. If there's ever a problem with my London Fog, they are very quick to fix it but I would say 90% of the time it's prepared really well. And the baked goods are just amazing and I haven't run into any further problems with them, as a matter of fact, I seem to keep wanting more! I also love the low-key m, warm atmosphere. The Brown Dog Cafe took over what i think used to be the Treehouse cafe, another coffee shop that closed down. They had a large interior but it wasn't super full with chairs and tables, instead focusing on a few larger tables for groups of 4-6. The heart of Audubon and the surrounding area is growing and it smells a lot like coffee. Beautiful interior. Spacious, modern and cozy. Parking is via street and not too bad. Pour over coffee is from a roaster in Philly named Elixr. One of my favorites. Brewed a bit lower in temp than what I'm used to but was a good cup. Looking forward to trying their espresso next but ultimately if you're looking for coffee, this is a great spot. read more

Really pleasantly surprised to find this new coffee shop that just opened up in the former location of the Treehouse Cafe. It's the only place I know serving Elixr Coffee Roasters coffee in South Jersey, which for my money is one of best local coffee roasters in the area. We ordered a latte and some of their single origin Ethiopian as a pour over and we were not disappointed. The Latte was expertly made with perfect consistency, and Elixr's espresso has always been some of the best in Philly. Besides the coffee the space was completely redone in what I'd described as refined but comfortable decor. Atmosphere was great, the owners were friendly and I'm excited to see how they grow the business. What was a quick pit-stop for some afternoon coffee turned into discovering possibly the best coffee shop in South Jersey and certainly my go-to coffee shop for the foreseeable future. read more

I really wanted to like this place because I love seeing small town centers thrive. My friend and I stopped in after lunch at Lesbiveggies (yum) and both ordered her regular drink, a macchiato. I'm not sure what the barista did to them--perhaps she burnt them? All I know is that they were undrinkable; it was not subtle. My friend gets this drink all the time and has had them in Italy. She couldn't drink it. So I brought them back up to the bar and politely told the barista, who proceeded to say, no, that's how they are supposed to taste, and had we ever had one of these before? They are different from coffee. I assured her--again, politely--that we had, and that it was my friend's regular drink, and she just shook her head and said there was nothing wrong with the drinks. The owner then stepped in and quite begrudgingly said he could make us something else, so we got cappuccinos, which were fine, and we appreciated that gesture. What we didn't appreciate was the eye-rolling from the young barista and being told we were wrong--especially when we were not. How about you just apologize, you must have made a mistake, no problem, we'll make you another drink?? Not so hard. The best part though is that on the way out we were standing ten feet from the owner, who was not wearing ear buds and showed no sign of being hard of hearing when he spoke to us earlier. I said, "Thank you, goodbye!" and he did not look up, so I repeated it, quite loudly this time. Again, he did not look up. Seriously, dude? Whatever. Neither of us will ever return. read more
