My husband and I shared the Sandra O. (fried chicken with Korean BBQ sauce, cucumbers, and other veggies) and the Curt C. (salmon, asparagus, avocado, lettuce, and ranch dressing). Both sandwiches were good, though the menu described the Curt C. as having smoked salmon, and it definitely wasn't smoked. The sides were also tasty (house chips, spiced apples, bourbon sweet potatoes, and fries), but the servings were too small given the price, which is why this is a three-star review rather than a four-star review. The lunchtime ambiance was nice. Seemed very family friendly. One small complaint: the large windows have no shades, which meant the sun steadily crept into our eyes as the afternoon advanced. read more

The people complaining about Jerry's are typical Lincoln Square entitled parents. When I was there the other night, one of the parents asked the waiter to remove the Halloween decorations because they scared her precious spoiled brat. Jerry's is great. It is not Potbellys or Costellos or Subway. It is a high quality, great food, inventive restaurant and bar. The drink list is fantastic. The sandwiches are always great. And the service is always friendly. It's amazing how much better things are when you're not a jerk to the servers. I really hope the entitled parents of Lincoln Square don't put this place out of business because those of us who enjoy good food and drink would like it to stay. read more

This is the site you use to report food poisioning. http://www.foodbornechicago.org/ You will need it after eating at Jerry's! We split cheese curds and had a couple of sandwiches that we didn't share, so not sure if it was the cheese or some kind of sandwich spread, but the next night we got to enjoy 12 plus hours of being so ill that we slept on the bathroom floor. Let me just say that the food was no where near good enough to endure that. read more

Nice ambiance, newer restaurant, and in a great location. The food was just not very great. I'm a vegetarian and was hoping for some fresh veggies as a side or on a salad, but I was disappointed. The fries and side Cesar salad were still tasty though. My boyfriend's spicy chicken sandwich was good, but spicier of hot sauce than expected. Good beer list and homemade potato chips too. read more

This place is kind of like TGI Fridays landed in Lincoln Square. The ambience is very cookie cutter. Also, apparently this is one of the only kid friendly restaurants in the neighborhood because at 7 on a Saturday literally every party except for ours had small children in it. The only good thing about this place is the beer list and it's not worth it. read more

The WORST restaurant and a sad addition to The Square. Today my partner, our 9 year old and I were shopping in the square and decided to eat at Jerry's. Worst mistake of our lives. I ordered a burger, my partner ordered a Cobb salad, and the kid got some mac and cheese. 5 mins after ordering the brought out the kids meal without the rest of the food. 20 minutes later our food came out, and of course our kid was already done with their meal. Once we got our food, our table had zero napkins or silver ware. When we asked our waiter, he seemed annoyed to help us. My partners salad was not a Cobb salad. It was something with terrible dressing and no Cobb toppings. The whole experience was just awful. The staff seemed stressed out, their owner/manage seemed like a micro manager and only added to the frantic vibe. The worst $50 I've ever spent on a meal. Will never go back and recommend no one spend their money here. read more

Never go to this place for brunch. I ordered an egg sandwich with a side salad assuming that egg sandwiches always had eggs that were at least over medium. I got the sandwich and the egg was over hard and I concluded that it was stupid of me to have made that assumption, so I ordered an over easy egg on the side. I got another hard egg. Also the lettuce in my salad was black. My husband got a Bloody Mary but it was too spicy to drink and full of cilantro. Solid F. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I've been to the one in Andersonville and loved that one. My experience here was not good. To start, the service was horrific! It took at least 7-10 minutes before my waiter even approached me and it was dead in the place. He was not very friendly either. I ordered and the food runner dropped my food about 15 minutes later. I realized I didn't have silverware or napkins and had to hail the waiter down to come over. Then it appeared as though he was annoyed I was asking for them. He never came back for drink refills after giving me the napkin. Again, I had to wave him over. At the end, I had to ask another waiter to ask my waiter for my bill. So, overall horrible service. The food was just ok, not great and nothing I would go back for. Very disappointed. read more

Pretty tasty sandwiches but it's hard to find what you want. There are too many choices! And they're all $12+. The staff weren't very friendly or helpful. Considering they're surrounded by young families, they don't seem to know how to handle strollers. Like I said, tasty sandwiches but a few dollars more than they're worth. read more

This was my first visit to Jerry's. I liked the space and ambiance. We shared the hummus with pita. Hummus was average. The pitas came grilled and fried--very good. My partner had the Brutus salad--Caesar with blackened chicken. Very nice. Large salad with fabulous Caesar dressing. I wasn't particularly hungry and it was kind of chilly out, so I chose the chicken, seafood and sausage gumbo. Thank goodness for the Crystal hot sauce. This might have been the worst gumbo I've ever experienced. I detected no celery, onion and just a like bit of something green. Perhaps it was green pepper. There was no depth of flavor that a good roux might have provided. And I think the soup had been made last week. There was no brightness or freshness of flavor. It could have been in the freezer for a year. Very disappointing. On the bright side, my coffee was excellent. Service was mediocre at best. Our server never checked on us. We were there for over an hour and the music selection was entirely Led Zeppelin. Now I'm a fan, but the volume was loud and give me a break....90 minutes of Led Zeppelin....not every cut was a favorite. I'll go back, but no soup from me. read more

Great service. But overall, food was just ok. Worth trying once, but that's about it. The mashed potatoes with pablano gravy was legit, but the special lamb burger was just ok (and overcooked). read more

Came here thinking I could find a breakfast sandwich. I couldnt, but tried the nacho grilled cheese anyway. I'm sure the other sandwiches are great, but I didn't leave satisfied. The sandwich just wasnt the melty cheesy i was looking for. Maybe next time. I do love that this place is roomy and kid-friendly! We need more places like these in this neighborhood! read more

I was in last night, and I actually really enjoyed it! There were definitely still some start-up issues (waiters bringing food to wrong tables), but the food was great. I got the shrimp poboy with Mac n cheese and slaw. The sandwich itself was awesome. I'll definitely come back just for the poboy. Shrimp were fried just right, and the Italian roll was fresh. The slaw was great with it;'Mac n cheese so-so. My boyfriend got a fried chicken sandwich (with pickles and hot sauce), and he was similarly enthusiastic about his food. In terms of the atmosphere, it sits right in the middle of the square with lots of Windows- it will be a huge plus in the summer. In the winter, it makes the restaurant pretty drafty, though. Also, the decor seems really thrown together randomly. Not sure I love it, but like I said, POBOY. UPDATE: Came back end of March, just for the shrimp poboy. Sad to say that whoever cooked it the second time didn't fry the shrimp right. The breading fell right off...gross. Jerrys needs to figure out these issues fast! Consistency is an issue for them. read more

Ummmm yeah, not sure why my family and I tried this place again... the first time we went I was thoroughly unimpressed. Servers are rude, service is slow, and menu is overpriced and the font they use on their menu gives me a headache. As much as I want to support all of the businesses in our beloved square, I can not will not recommend this place. Stay. Away. read more

We just received the most ridiculous service at this place. It took them an hour and 20 minutes just to bring us our appetizer. Then another 20 to get our food, which they got 2 out of 5 meals wrong. Honestly, I was just about to order a pizza from somewhere else for delivery right to my table. It was well over two hours for lunch. Wasn't even that crowded. They took some money off the bill after mildly apologizing. Didn't feel that sincere. No manager came over. Don't think there even was one. I dont really think that they understood what an unpleasant experience that they had created for their customer. Felt like the parents were on vacation and left the place to be run amuck by the kids. The food was fine, but we have never had such a bizarre experience at Jerry's.......really hoping that this isn't the new normal. read more

Great Location. Terrible Service. I am sitting outside at Jerry's writing this. Our server was totally incompetent. This is also not the first time this has happened here. I can say for sure that until this place gets better management that I will not be back. Bread was way over toasted. Forgotten sides. Forgotten drinks. No place settings. No condiments. Basically had to ask for everything. Server hovered over a baby with a tray of drinks and hot coffee. Not smart. Passed drinks and coffee in front of children. Bad. Train your servers better read more

Well, we tried. Sat at bar, got menus, then bartender ignored us or forgot. He served other people who came after. He also brought drinks out to the floor and took an order there. So after about 10-15 minutes we left. Maybe they will serve you? read more

Overpriced. Ordered three sandwiches (two burger, grilled salmon), taste average. Expected more considering they're about $15 a piece.

Food is good but reason we went was that they had gluten free bread offered on menus, but they don't have it. Also tried calling them but they don't answer phone either. read more

Okay, I said wasn't going to write this review 2 months ago, but I gave this place a second chance and the same thing happened when I was getting carry-out, so I felt like I owed it to whoever wants to eat here. Food's good, servers are good, the business itself seems like it's run by jerks. This middle aged woman, salt and pepper hair (manager? owner? some authority there) really made us feel like we were intruding. We were there later in the evening, we asked to sit at a different table than where she sat us, and I've never seen someone so visibly annoyed at a customer, rolling her eyes, mutter something under her breath, terribly rude! And she was even worse to the servers. I mentioned it to a nice server working there; she said this woman was the worst person to work for. Really put us off our meal. We had to deal with the same woman and the same rudeness when we ordered yesterday. Not going back! Plenty of other good sandwich places without salty managers breathing down our necks. No thanks! read more

This place is fantastic! I had the Doctor J veggie sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw. Simply amazing, everything was so fresh and delicious and the people are so warm and friendly. This is a must try and repeat! read more

Never got a chance to try the food, but the worst service. We waited an hour and a half for the food and just decided to go to Jimmy John's. We had all ordered pretty standard, slightly overpriced sandwiches so I can't imagine what the hold up was. Our waiter did not seem to concerned about it and just kept telling us they would be right out, and we had to actually get up and find him to get that update. Would not recommend to others. read more

a huge selection of sandwiches!! it's almost a little overwhelming! I do like how you can do a half sandwich/ half salad option. If you do get a full sandwich you can get two sides, definitely get the house made chips and try the peanut pasta salad! it's kinda like a thai peanut sauce. Ryan and I also tried the crab dip and its definitely one to try!!! It comes with house made chips and warm pita bread! yummmmm! I've tried a few different sandwiches and you can't go wrong! the fried chicken sandwiches are all good too. read more

I wish this had been a good experience. The location is great shame that the quality isn't great. Ordered and was surprised how fast we got our order.... well it was warm at best. I had the Mac and cheese and it was coagulated :( My partner had a sandwich that was cold as well. His side of beans was cold too?!? Really!! Your a restaurant, your job is to serve properly cooked hot food. I hate sending food back but honestly we had no choice! I am tired of paying ridiculous prices for subpar meals. We kick around Lincoln Square often but won't be back at Jerry's. In fact won't try the other locations either. read more

Loved Jerry's today for lunch! Had the Alice W. The 6oz draft beer options were great. Easy to try multiple drafts from their huge list! Highly recommend for lunch! read more

We'd been watching them build out, and have been to Jerry's three times, now, since it opened. The first time (Valentine's Day) we had sandwiches (I had the chicken sandwich) and were pretty happy. I still haven't tried the veggie patty, but I appreciate the variety that they offer, and that they'll swap out the guts for whatever you want (chicken, beef, veggie patty, etcetera). The serving of fries wasn't very big, which I actually like - it's more manageable than a giant basket. My wife would have liked them more crispy, though :-) The second time we came in the evening, for desert - I got the blondie, my wife got the brownie. Both were great, but it's worth noting that there was only a small scoop of ice cream, so if you're an ice cream person, ask for a second scoop! The third time we had salad, and I was really pleased: big portions, lots of good stuff, and again, they'll swap out anything you want (I wanted the fried chicken salad... with grilled chicken). Jerry's is a casual place, a little less "adult" than somewhere like The Daily, or Rockwell's, or even The Bad Apple, but the bar was doing good business. No waiting on a Friday night, but it was full only a few weeks after opening, and that's a lot of tables. So far, we really dig Jerry's, and it's probably going to be one of our go-to places. It's nice to have a broad choice of sandwiches or salads, with the possibility to go healthy or a bit unhealthy, your choice :-) read more

Literally everything was good. I ordered off of grub hub and everything came early, hot, and delicious!! The salmon dip is by far mine and my fiancé's favorite. And the sandwiches did NOT disappoint. 4 thumbs up!!!! read more

Would have rated this higher because the service was great (Dash, in particular), food was awesome. But the beer and drinks were DRASTICALLY overpriced. The 3 Floyd's I had is normally $6-$7 anyway I go in Chicago. I ordered it without looking and here? $10. Nah. read more

Great new Jerry's location, reminded me more of the Andersonville one, as I haven't been to the one on Division in a dog's age. Lots of windows facing the nice little fountain park area that's between Cafe Selmarie. Nice chilled out atmosphere. Granite bar top with little brass lamps spaced along the length of it. 80's movies on the tv. Draft list was pretty broad, and focused on US craft such as Allagash, Lagunitas, FFF, Pipeworks, GI Lolita, and a couple dozen others. A select handful of bombers on the bottle menu. Service was good, it was the middle of the day, so the bartender left to do other things, but we never had empty glasses. They was somewhat aloof, but willing to chat once engaged. Food was pretty good, I tried the Korean fried chicken poppers, which was a pretty substantial portion, and fresh made. The spicy mayo dip that came with these was great. There sure are a lot of entitled whiners slamming this place for no reason. Go and form your own opinion rather than reading some neurotic drivel on the internet. read more

So so good. Not sure what the service complaints are about, maybe Jerry's has addressed it since the last reviewers posted but I just had an amazing lunch with very prompt service. It was like a well oiled machine: waiter took my order, bartender delivered my drink, another guy brought out my meal. All really smooth (and there were a decent number of customers). Only waiting that happened was them waiting for me to decide what I wanted! Nothing to complain about here. Don't let service deter you from enjoying these awesome sides! Oh, and the sandwiches are really good too ;) read more

There's no doubt that the location and patio are superb, but I've found be food and service to be entirely average in my few visits to Jerry's. The vegetarian sandwiches are lackluster at best and the soft pretzels aren't among the top notch in the area. A solid beer menu and tasty Electric Lemonade paired with summer in Lincoln Square keep us coming back, but I'm not sure that we'll visit often when the weather turns sour. Service has been up and down. We had one excellent server, but in subsequent visits the forgotten appetizer and a cumbersome, personality-erasing digital device for taking orders took away from our dining experience. read more

We arrived on a cool fall afternoon. The warm Tinga chicken in the Pancho V warmed my bones. The cider in the slaw made the leaves outside turn just a shade faster than usual. I've been to Jerry's three times since this location opened in this amazing spot in Lincoln Square. Decor and patio are good. My wife and I really want to like this place since we're local, but all the times have been not great. First visit was a few weeks after it opened and the food was nearly inedibly salty, and I like salty foods. Gave them a pass though and let them work out the kinks. Second visit, service was so slow that we just got an appetizer and skipped entrees. This last visit we were looking for a quick bite and mimosas for lunch and there was no wait for the patio, unlike the others around. So why not right? Two mimosas for $10 each and some biscuits and gravy to munch on. Mimosas were done right but the biscuits and gravy took at least 30 minutes and arrived cold. Cold rubber egg, cold dry biscuit, little bit of warm gravy (was flavorful but not enough). Waitress checked up on us and was accommodating and took the food off the bill. TL;DR - great location, repeatably sub par food, too risky for the price read more

For my birthday, my friends and I came to Jerry's. There were fourteen of us and we had Chris as our bartender/server. He couldn't have been more kind and attentive. The food of course was fabulous but his service made the night even more wonderful. Chris played great music for us, put the Cubs game on and made the night perfect! I could not speak more highly of Jerry's or the service they provide:) read more

Jerry's - Jerry's club!!! - Sandwiches Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Outstanding sandwiches and service. I have a hard time getting anything other than the Nutball (don't think, just order), but when in agreeable company, at least we can order two things and share. Last visit it was the fried green tomato with pimento cheese (and some other stuff) sandwich. BBQ beans and mac & cheese are my go-to sides, though there are certainly healthier items on the menu. The on-tap selections change to keep things interesting. Chris is always there behind the bar to let me know what I'll like. Love this place! read more

I would love to give a better, more meaningful review but we walked out after being seated and ignored for twenty minutes. There was plenty of seating and it seemed like the wait staff weren't rushed so based on the other reviews, I guess I shouldn't feel special or surprised. It's unfortunate that the Lincoln Square neighborhood has such better options than Jerry's even though it sits in the heart of the neighborhood. read more

Ok. I really, really want this place to succeed. So, this review is for my first try (eating in) and delivery. If I eat in again, I personally know to ask them to go light on the mayo & chutney, and for the love of god, all. That. Lettuce! Did this with tonight's delivery order, and enjoyed the sandwiches MUCH better. Is it just me that feels the lettuce is stacked higher than Mt. Everest on their sandwiches? It hides how good the sandwiches really are. Also, the sides (I LOVE their Mac & Cheese and potato salad) are more like Costco samples than sides (though when you order delivery, they're slightly larger). Sigh. Come on, guys! read more

this place is great for lunch! I ordered the cheese curds and the tomato soup for dipping. DELICIOUS!!! My boyfriend got a huge fried chicken sandwich and it was so crispy and definitely worth the money, especially since it comes with two sides. i finished off my lunch with a Brutus salad. it was very fresh and the chicken was so good!! the portions are worth the price and the staff was so welcoming. overall i would definitely recommend this place for lunch. Warning though: the menu has so many options, it may be hard to choose! read more

In addition to excellent burgers, the sandwich selection also includes some unusual creations. I had the 'pot roast sandwich' which included toppings that brought zest and uniqueness to the taste of the pot roast. It was extraordinarily delicious! The ales currently on tap were a big disappointment, however. Tasted two, but ended up only having water. Table service was extremely slow, and felt pretty much ignored by my server. He appeared once to take my order, and once to bring me the check. read more
