The staff is very nice and helpful. However, there is a wheeled bin for prepaid FedEx/UPS drop‑offs that is frequently situated directly in front of my rented mailbox which customes and NON customers can go to the store to use. Sometimes other customers move it for me to be nice, and sometimes I have to move it myself. The store is often crowded at peak hours the staff sometime appear very busy with notary services, which can contribute to delays. Parking is sometimes difficult in the shopping center where Jensens is located. I have also experienced delays when retrieving packages: I find a delivery‑notice slip in my mailbox, go to the staff to get the package, and then sometimes wait longer than expected before the staff can help me due to notarty customers. These recurring issues make the visit inconvenient and frustrating. I hope the owner will relocate or better manage the drop‑off bin, address staffing during peak notary times, and improve package pickup procedures. I cannot recommend this business. read more

Consistently excellent experiences here, with quick walk-in help for everything from package drop-off to notarizing documents to passport photos. We thought their prices were reasonable, especially considering the convenience and reliability. No charge for dropping off FedEx and UPS packages (which I thought was standard until another place charged me for a FedEx drop-off), and we've had no problems with tracking/delivery after drop-off. Deceptive business practices and customer service with bad attitude. I just paid $2.17 for them to print a shipping label because the sticker on the package wasn't sufficient. I would've gone home to print, but the guy working made it seem like he was doing me a courtesy. They wanted the box sealed better, but a few pieces of tape weren't included in the $2.17, so I went to my car for Scotch. The employee was short with me, and he left me hanging a couple times. Not going to bother with this small business anymore. Might as well hit up the chain locations, which don't nickel and dime and, to date, have provided better customer service than Jensen's. read more

Definitely go here if you want to be cheated by gross charges. Jensen's offers printing, which is great. You just have to email it to them or bring a USB. A single printout is less than $.30 or so. However, for them to open up your email and press print, that's $1.95. They call it a "computer fee". Ridiculous. This is just a way for them to cheat their customers out of $1.95 because they can. It is a vile business practice. Don't print anything here. Ever. 1 star because the employees are nice and I can throw my packages in their bins without having to go UPS or FedEx only spots. read more

The store is convenient and the employees are super nice, but the owner is a JERK. Theyre remodeling at the moment and since I drop packages off once in a blue moon, I didnt know that. No problem. The owner came up to me and told me other places to go. No problem. But then it got weird and unnecessarily antagonistic. He starts to go down the list of ways that he notified the public (website, sign on door, etc). Im not responding and just sort of scrambled because it had been a long day and I was thrown for a loop with the closure. I'm human, these things happen. Im not mad about it. I guess my lack of response triggered him because then I get a real snarky "If I could have phoned you at home, I would have" I asked him to please not drag me-I was just trying to drop off some packages. Some more snarky words in response and justification of the behavior because "he's been getting it all day". I say "well, I just got here, dont take it out on me" which got me one of those syrupy sweet, passive aggressive "you have yourself a WONDERFUL afternoon" Ugh. If this is how he treats his customers during a remodel, I hope he's not surprised when he doesn't have any after the remodel. read more

I have dropped off a fed ex return and after the week's gone, fed ex didn't have a record of it being scanned. I have called this business and came to the store to ask for assistance and all the answer I got from them is "that's between you and fedex." They have accepted and made business with that package and yet they have no accountability at all. I asked if this ever happened before, and they say this is a unique case and it never happened before. I will inquire to BBB as to where their liability ends. All I was asking from them was a guidance in what next step I can take and they sounded so apathetic. read more

Needed some documents notarized and the website claimed no appointment needed and they had a notary around during normal business hours. I called to confirm and indeed it was all true. Had a document notarized and was in and out in about 15 minutes on a Saturday. Prices are in line with most others....but the major plus is that you don't need to make an appointment. It's a shame that all the mom & pop print/copy shops have gone out of business but also nice to see that there are a few standing strong. I mean, Bob Dylan said it best, "the times are a changin". Anyway, I was near the neighborhood, needed to print out a few things in a hurry and this was the best option I found on Yelp. I called over and they were quick to answer the phone and let me know that they could take care of my needs. Rad. The color copies were .75 each and all in all was a quick job. So, given the rona I am trying not to venture too far from home. When looking up UPS dropoff points this is one that came up as closer to me than my normal UPS on 24th during pre-rona times. Given all the suspicious to bad reviews, I wasn't super stoked on wandering in with two prepaid packages - one from my own business ups account and one amazon return. But, I didn't have any snafu's dropping them off. The counter worker did require: - A package release form releasing them from liability and confirming the package contents and that they contained no hazardous substances. - A peep at my ID & DL number. And they do not provide drop off receipts (whomp whomp). Seems like a lot of trying to protect themselves from liability while also not affording you any protection in the form of a receipt - which, well, does seem a bit lopsided. But, they are a small independent mail business and in light of that you can see that there's a lot at stake. Especially as the world contracts away from physical interaction. I don't know. No real complaints. I dropped off the UPS packages a bit after 1 and they appear to have gone out the same day as they have already been scanned within the UPS system, so, that's pretty efficient service as far as I'm concerned. Given the quick pickup, I would consider using them for future shipping needs. It also looks like they have PMB's on premises. tl;dr: I experienced minimal wait & no side-eye. But, they do have more shipping requirements than your average commercial store and somewhat less service in terms of providing receipts than I've experienced at other third party outlets. But, if it's close to you. Then, hey, that's a win! read more

Went to drop-off a UPS package there: - They ask you to sign a waiver in case they loose or steal the package (never saw that anywhere else!) - They don't provide you with an official UPS drop-off receipt - They make you understand that you are not welcome here All this kind of make sense when you know that they don't make any money when you drop-off a package which is already pre-paid. read more

Needed notary, copying and express mail during Covid. Have a family member with cancer and needed to get something out fast, as socially distanced and safely as possible. Jensen's was amazing! I called and found out when they were likely to be quieter. Since there are windows on both sides and there is a big covered roof outside, they handled everything outside and so safely. They almost always have a notary on duty and it was far easier than the alternative I was considering which was calling a mobile notary who could meet me in a parking lot. Jensen's also has copy and express mail so it is one trip rather than lots of trips with more exposure. They were incredibly nice, even helping me get copies of the notarized forms without having to go inside, and made it possible for me to get everything done fast and safely. read more

I'd give more stars if I could! I was a customer for 6 months, mostly to receive packages while I prepared to move out of state. All of the people in this business were completely customer focused, treating me and others whom I observed while there, with respect, kindness and professionalism. I never was there witnessing anything less. While there is a US Post Office just a few steps away, they do not meet the same standard of excellence. They offer an incredible number and variety of services, and their prices are very reasonable. As I leave California this is one of the very few businesses I'm sad to leave behind. read more

Saw Jensen's Mail & Copy was like 10 ft away & they had no line so decided to go there instead Well, there was no line for a reason..... Flippant staff; took my package & didn't offer a tracking receipt; didn't scan it; just threw it on a pile of other boxes When I asked for a record of my dropping it off, he handed the package back to me & told me *I* could write the tracking number down but they would not enter it into their records So with a handwritten record I wrote for myself & no service at all, I've definitely experienced better! This place is run by jokers and fools. I came in to get two sets of two keys. I handed the gentleman behind the counter my keyring, which held the set of two keys. "Two copies of each, please." The guy helping me handed the keys to his co-worker, who made me a total of two keys, not four. "We don't have the other key," he explained. "Great. I'll just take the two, then." Which kinda bit, since I need two separate keys to enter the establishment in question. The clueless keymaker quoted me a price of $4.97. I handed him my cc. "You can't charge under $5." To which I retorted "Why didn't you tell me you couldn't copy both keys??!" I was so irate that I threw him a fiver and blew out of there, cursing the bastard under my breath. This place has tumbled BADLY. I've had a box there for ten years and it WAS like a small friendly family store. Everyone WAS kind, polite, and helpful. Since I can only get in about once a month they WERE so good about holding things for me. But the other NEG reviews are right. Flip, rude, and poor service have reached this place too. But this IS my fault; my box was TWO DAYS past due after ten years!! And I'd come in with only a few bucks after a month away. No MONEY, NO MAIL! Oh, they wouldn't take just one months rent in cash for the moment - had to be six months minimum. And that's what I get for being a FORMER regular. You're only someone I used to know. BTW, if you're rude as I ultimately was, (YES) they will point that out with no insight regarding their own behavior. It's not just the big box stores that are killing the small businesses. What's the matter with you, guys? This is a nice neighborhood place, a family business, which I thought Yelpers would appreciate, support and patronize. I live in a neighborhood for 4.5 years, and this place has been there for me all along. Copies, mailings, passport pictures, notary service - check. Packaging for some atypical items - check. They packed my camera for mailing, and were super-patient while I was whining, "what if it breaks"' and all that. It didn't break, of course. The owners and staff are always friendly, and they know me by name. Also, their collection of vinyl records and a vinyl player fascinates me. Okay, they have a $5 credit card rule, but you know what? I can live with it. The Alemany market, where we buy most of our groceries, does not take cards at all, and no one seems to mind. read more

I went to have copies made... very simple. I had 14 black and white pages and 4 colored. However, when they first made the copies they did them all black-and-white and didn't collate them for me. So we had to do them over. That's when I pointed out that the colored copies have to be colored. It was supposed to be $.14 a copy. So then he ran all the pages through the color copier. He then proceeded to charge me $32. $.75 a page instead of $.12 a page! I explained that I could take all the other pages in black-and-white and just needed 4 colored ones. But they're demanding $32 for 36 copies. They didn't try to help me at all and just kept arguing. I tried explaining to them that they could help other customers in the future with this kind of issue. That they should've explained that the price would be over 6 times more than they originally quoted. And now I was stuck having to pay this astronomical fee that I did not expect. Really horrendous customer service. They should at least try to act like they care about helping their customers rather than arguing with them. read more

I had to ship a painting of my grandfather and grandmother. It was of extremely high sentimental value (and no other real value). So I thought of the folks here. I have had them pack and ship my holiday gifts here since moving into the neighborhood in 1993 and never had a single thing get damaged. They have limited business hours, they're rude and inattentive, and worst of all - wait for it - they charge up to THREE DOLLARS to drop off already-prepaid UPS packages. That's right - just to drop off a prepaid UPS package, they charge THREE DOLLARS. The owner was totally defensive and rude about it when I asked for some justification, and even admitted that this charge isn't levied by all independent postal supply places - just his. Charging customers for a service that costs the store nothing at all is bad business. I'm taking mine elsewhere. read more

Canadian Passport Photo seekers! After rejecting my photos taken at another place, the Canadian Passport Office recommended this place as being closer to my home. I found this place to be very fairly priced - considerably cheaper that my first try. NOTE: My original photos were well done in terms of measurements. However the "expert" did not notice that the the subjects' shirt must be of a dark colour in order to provide contrast with the background. I don't know if Jensen's would have know this. Be sure to have a dark shirt on when you get your Canadian photos done. read more

Oof. I made a huge mistake and brought some documents for fed ex overnight. They charged me 76$ and had I just driven to fed ex on Marin St, it would have been $39.60. I agree this place definitely charges full retail for the services they offer, so since they are content to test the waters of supply and demand, don't let it anger you; they will be there when you really need them, and yes, you will pay. Sounds like most of the customer service conflicts that yelpers are b*tching about arise from employees diligently doing their jobs and complying with store policy, even the policies that involve sometimes saying 'no' to a customer. This can be frustrating, but it's more a sign of the times. It's refreshing to see relatively low-level employees who actually care about doing their jobs. In fact, the employees have always been polite, efficient and kind. I'd hire the people who work here. I enjoy the music they spin on their record player. You read that right, they play freaking vinyl records. Jazz, swing & such. So there's no way they are totally evil. Whining about a $5 minimum to use credit cards is petty, yelpers. Merchants pay fees every time their customers pay with a credit card, which is why some gas stations have two sets of prices. Credit card companies bleed this country like vampires! read more

I was in a rush for a notarization. All my last-minute plans could have been prevented by myself. I give Jensen's a 5 for quick convenience and reasonable notarization fees. $10/signature which is the standard even imposed by the Secretary of State. My printer wasn't working so I asked Jensen if I could use theirs. From my smartphone, I emailed my document to their printer's email. I had the notarization done right away. Presto! :) My experience with the service was excellent. It had a family business feel. We even exchanged laughs and jokes. No small talk, we dug for the reality and clicked. Definitely would go back whenever I'm in Diamond Heights for their other services. read more

I've been coming here for years! My family was in town for a quick visit and wanted to have a box shipped home, they didn't want to use the post office, so I suggested Jensen's due to the great services and the good customer service we have always received. They gladly took the box, packed it up and happily paid for delivery and packing and told it would be shipped to be there in several days. Later that evening we received an email from Jensen's saying that they had misquoted the price and it would be approx $100 more! We had already paid $50+ Since they had already closed, we called first thing in the morning to be told call back when the manager was in, we did and said we had already paid for the service, that the increase was not acceptable and that they should honor the price. They would not budge or admit an error, they refused to ship and we had to go back to pick up our box! HUGE inconvenience given the short amount of time we had and when we arrived to pick up package, they acted like we were in the wrong and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. We turned it around took it to the post office and had it delivered in 2 business days for less $$. I'm all for small business, but you quote a price, you should stand by it, that's just good business. Decades of support down the drain,don't trust and won't use again. Beware! read more

Do I really have to give them a star???? Besides being overpriced I can't believe their level of stupidity. I no longer go in there to copy, fax, or send packages because they are so ridiculously overpriced, but have on occasion used their notary. My 101 year old father needed to get some papers signed for his pension plan, verifying that he is receiving his pension. (Basically checking that he is still alive.) He went in and when the woman asked he gave her his name. She looked at him then turned to me and said, "He answered me in Spanish." I couldn't believe how stupid she was as I responded, "He gave you his name. He has a Hispanic name." What did she expect? That he should anglicise his name? Stay away!!!! read more

I use this place for copies all the time. The copy quality is great, but the service is what makes the difference. The last job I e-mailed in, I gave them instructions that didn't make sense. Did they put it aside and wait for me to come in? No. They called AND e-mailed me to get the instructions clarified, did the job and let me know when it was ready to pick up. I appreciate them "having my back" on this one since it was a very important project that I needed right away. I stopped in, checked it out and FedEx'd it off to my client. The FedEx pickup was just minutes after I stopped in. I wouldn't have had time to have had them do it over or start then due to my contradictory instructions. Thanks guys! read more

I have a mailbox here that I use to receive packages safely (without them being stolen on my doorstep or having to worry about a delivery person getting through my condo gate). I've never been disappointed. They promptly send you an email when a package arrives (with the details of the sender) and they even know me when I show up. Service has been fast & reliable. Let me just start by saying that I have been here several times and will probably continue to do so because they are very close to my house and have a parking lot. But let me tell you, you pay for the convenience. This place is a rip-off. Plain and simple. I will only bother to comment on my latest experience with them since other people on Yelp have already articulated some of the other frustrations with dealing with this place. I had to fax about 10 pages somewhere the other day and they wanted to charge me $2 a page! That is just outrageous. Instead I opted to have it scanned and e-mailed to me. That cost $.95 a page, still way overpriced but it was time sensitive so I went for it. In the end, the scans looked awful. They were not balanced on the page and it was so light that I couldn't read it rendering it unusable. Not that I could have sent since the PDF they sent was corrupted and I couldn't upload it anyway. In the end I went to Kinkos and faxed it from there for half as much as Jensens would have charged. As I said before, I will probably go back because it is convenient (the guys who work there are super cool and are not at fault) but I can't help but feeling fleeced everytime I go. read more
