Yes, I KNOW it's a pizza joint. And while Jenk's pizza is good, with some pretty creative selections, I Love, (with a capital L!), their pasta's! Sadly, they no longer serve my uber favorite pasta. 'Jenksy', as we lovingly have nicknamed the owner, used to make a Pasta Carbonara that would make me tear up with happiness. But, really who can resist bacon, onion and white sauce on anything? Certainly not this Foodie. Naturally the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp would fall next in line to my first pasta love. But another one of Jenksy's masterpieces is the Gnocchi Rosato. This is a truly delish dish. Little potato gnocchi topped with Jenks homemade sauce. I have an affinity for good gnocchi and this is definitely good stuff! Jenksy never over cooks his pasta, has generous portions priced between $8.00 to $9.00 bucks, and on top of that Jenks Pizza delivers!! All of which makes this place aces in my book. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews. Great service, generous portions, incredibly fair pricing, and best of all FLAVORFUL FOOD IN ST JOHN'S COUNTY. I ordered the calamari appetizer, gyro platter, and a peroni for myself. All of it was well portioned. The calamari was served with an in house marinara that was absolutely perfect. I saved most of it to take home to the kids for later. The gyro platter is served with fresh pita, thin sliced beef, a generous amount of tzatziki, a mini Greek salad, and some French fries. Given that everything was separated, I was able to control how much of what flavor was on my food, which I appreciate. I would have liked a few more kalamatas. To be fair, I didn't ask. I'm certain it wouldn't have been a problem. I ended up getting a medium pizza and some mozzarella sticks for the kids after school snack. All of this was for under $40. I see literally no downsides, and will definitely be returning with the family. I am especially eager to try their family size takeout pasta dinners. read more

We've ordered delivery from here several times and it's always been so good, I just never think to post, but I will say it's so much better than chain takeout pizza. We called ahead for pick up. Ordered three pizzas. One had waaay too much sauce on it. So much that we could not pick up a piece, had to use a fork. It tasted good enough. I won't be going back based on the way the male employee treated the female employee. The woman rang me up while the man got the pizzas ready. When he came to the counter he said he was going to ring me up. She cheerfully told him that she had already rung me up. Then he chewed her out right in front of me. Totally awkward and wrong. I really, really wanted to like this place because it's close to my house BUT...it didn't turn out so well. We ordered an extra-large pepperoni pizza. I will say the cheese, amount of sauce and pepperoni were good and the bottom of it was cooked well. The crust is no bueno. Very, very bland. No flavor to it whatsoever. If only they could put some flavoring on it, maybe coat it with with some olive oil or butter than sprinkle some italian seasoning, parmesan, garlic powder over it and THEN bake it? The only point holding this from 3 stars in my books is the service. Very inattentive. The Pizza is actually good, the pastas were good too, but missing items that came with the meal, I was shy to ask for them. Not the end of the world but, I would expect this to be better. We didn't finish all the food and the waitress never offered anything for us to take out. Missing salads, service plates etc.. she put the food and went to the counter to chat with her co-workers. Just, no good. Pay attention, do your stinking job and stop babbling. We may still have take out but inside dining? no. Have to say, the place is neat, the waitress was friendly but.. poor employee. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this pizza. I have tried the meat lovers and the cheese and both were very good.

I will not ever go back here again. I should have trusted my instincts when I saw the cook come out the restroom and scratch his full head of hair with his hands and then proceed to cook pizza. But I didn't, because my husband look annoyed at me thinking I was being over dramatic when I stated I wanted to leave. The pizza was good however, my wings were undercooked. When I stated this to my server she said they do this all the time. When she took the wings to the back, apparently stated she spoke with the cooks about it. When I asked for it to come off my check she said they would not let her take it off. To be fair, we did eat most of it since most were fine but 2 wings. Though this could have very well left for a lawsuit to happen, if I get sick. I hope this isn't the case. Customer service was horrible! read more

Food tasted frozen and was not evenly cooked. Service was mediocre. No flavor in the food yet still extremely salty and tasted less than mediocre. I love supporting small businesses but I would have enjoyed food from a chain restaurant much more. Don't use the parmesan packets unless you love salt. Salad and bread is very basic, you could probably make the same salad at home and buy the bread at your local grocery store. Could be good if more effort was put in. Disappointed. read more

I ordered 2 pizzas, one buffalo chicken and a cheese pizza. I have never tasted anything so SALTY! The buffalo chicken pizza was incredibly salty and more greasy than usual. I first thought it's because of the buffalo chicken sauce, but when I tried the cheese pizza, it too was also very SALTY! Even my kids couldn't handle the saltiness in the cheese pizza. So I decided to call them, and inform them of the issue. But they simply replied with a sorry and suggested to ask for less cheese next time I order, assuming it was my fault. I did not even order the pizzas with extra cheese. They couldn't even replace the pizzas. I have never been this frustrated and disappointed with their pizza. read more

I've tried to give Jenk's the benefit of the doubt. They've delivered approximately 10 times over the past few months. The quality of their food is... abysmal. Their pizzas are overpriced for their portion size; their cheese has a grainy texture which absolutely suggests bottom-of-the-barrel quality. Their crust is regularly chewy, aka undercooked. And then there's the sauce. I've had a LOT of red sauce in my life; theirs is absolutely inedible. What pushed me over the edge to write this review was a calzone I waited over an hour to receive recently. Sausage, pepper and onion. The sausage was flavorless save for salt, the peppers virtually non existent. The onions, however, were a stand out! Crunchy, raw red onion. In 48 years I've never, until now, experienced raw red onion in a sausage/pepper/onion order. And I love onion. Crunchy to the point where my wife looked up and asked "WHAT are you eating???". Save your money. Eat elsewhere. And this is advice over multiple orders. read more

Their pizza is the best in Jacksonville, in my opinion. I have tried all the chains and nobody comes close. Since their ingredients are purchased from local suppliers daily, the price has to be slightly higher, but that is well worth avoiding the cardboard that the big chains put in the box. Their other dishes are great (those I have tried) and I keep meaning to try more dishes, but I go there hungry and find it very hard not to get the pizza. I know the Lasagna is awesome, the baked Ziti rocks... well, you get my point. Make your own assessment, I did 2 years ago and don't shop anywhere else! Also as a cancer survivor, I have to carefully watch what I eat (my entire stomach was removed in 2008), so the quality has to be in the product before it goes in my mouth, since I have no stomach creating acids to aid digestion! Jenk's Pizza is somewhat of a staple in the area. It's not the best pizza you are going to have, but its dependable good pizza for the area. Its a local business to support as apposed to a lot of the chains in the surrounding area. Ever been traveling on 95 and eat a slice of gas station pizza? If so, then you've had Jenks. Jenks really does try to make a NY style pizza; but falls on its face... Hard. The dough looks great, but is dry and almost has a stale taste to it. Not the chewy, almost rubbery quality of pizza joints up north. If you can get beyond the crust, the sauce is barely covering it.. And has zero taste... The cheese was all texture and no flavor. Aside from the two pizzas, we also ordered two subs. The meatball was horrible. No sauce and zero flavor... And meatballs seemed like they were microwaved. Zero sauce. Minimal cheese and absolutely no taste. My daughter got a cheese steak and said it was good, but this is coming from someone who's staple diet are dinosaur chicken nuggets. I do look at the reviews, but locals must have never, ever been north of the mason-Dixon line.... Anyway, sorry Jenks... I don't understand the bad reviews about the pizza. I guess I must have gotten lucky the 3-4 times I've been, because the pizza is always fresh and flavorful. I've had pizza everywhere and this pizza isn't super high-level "best pizza I've ever had" pizza, but jesus, it's a local little pizza shop that's cheap and is pretty good. Not even sure how this place is still open. I had a bad experience here about 6 months ago. Pizza was soggy cardboard with no flavor. Decided to give them another try since I was craving pizza by the slice. Well, the one thing you can say is they are CONSISTENT!!!! Consistently bad! Again, I asked for crispy crust and it came out a soggy mess. Gross!!! On tap of that, the owners or managers were sitting up at the pizza bar eating and had their child there that was 3 or so running around the restaurant screaming while they were all laughing.
