The first step to a problem is admitting that you have one...and on that note...my problem is I love pizza! That is, my family and I love pizza and we are self-proclaimed pizza snobs! Hubs is from NY and I'm pretty sure if anyone in his family ever gets cut they'll bleed marinara. Ha! After all, you are what you eat...right? Seriously...a good pizza is a beautiful thing! There are certain ingredients to a pizza that you just can't reproduce...water being one of them. Water has a greater impact than you think. That said, I do love New York-style pizza and honestly, no place down here has perfect NY pizza and that is probably because of differences in things like the water or whatever...but there is one that is close though and that is Primo Pizza! I must say, Primo Pizza is as "close" to being as perfect as you can get and is by far the best pizza in this area. How can I not give them 5 stars? OK...some may argue since we all have different taste buds and even NY pizza is different and territorial. To me/us, if you are used to the pizza in Brooklyn, Long Island, etc...this is your place!!! The prices are fair and you get a lot of bang for your buck! They actually have a large menu and offer a lot more than pizza. We haven't tried anything else on the menu...yet!!! We always say we are going to try something else, but the pizza is so good we just end up salivating thinking about it and get pizza! There is indoor dining, carry-out/pickup, and a delivery option. The owners and staff are always super friendly when we go there to pick up. Doesn't matter who picks up in our family...we are always greeted fondly and get a chuckle from something. Moreover, they have a uniformed discount with proof of ID too. They are a family-owned business and considering the pandemic, the price hikes, etc....most folks are happy they weathered through it and are here. The store/restaurant is located in a small strip mall. Always easy to get into, but can't say the same for getting out of it. Depending on the time of day, it can be quite tricky and/or frustrating. You can go around the corner by the ACE Hardware store to proceed onto the back road, but depending on which way you turn and the time of day or the day of the week...it can present a different set of interesting issues. The parking can be tricky at times because quite frankly...there isn't enough of it. If you don't see a spot, just drive around the corner on the end by ACE hardware, you'll find a spot down there and it's just a few more steps. I wish they were located in Palencia Commons, but they aren't...so where there is a will, there is a way...and we always find parking and get that pizza home warm! Oh, forgot to mention...there is a restroom inside as well as a small bar. As for all the other pizza places...Fahgettaboudit...just come here for a smile and a slice! The pizza does not disappoint!

Definitely Primo Pizza is a can't go wrong choice if you're craving a really good NY Pizza! I also had Primo Pizza's meatballs' "so good!". Locally owned and operated Nick is an awesome pizza man. Top ingredients!

Atmosphere is very quaint. The pizza is fast and high quality ingredients. Staff is super friendly and has real Cheers vibes. I'll definitely be back

Our taco Tuesday got turned upside down when the wait at a nearby Mexican restaurant was too long for crew ... especially when the little ones have been complaining of being hungry already for an hour. We stumbled into Primo Pizza. What a pleasant surprise! Counter service. About 5-6 tables and a small counter top bar. Sports on the tv and friendly staff. We ordered the primo special pizza. Meatball, basil, onions and *hot but not too hot peppers The Antipasto salad was delicious and plentiful. The dressing was probably the best I've had! kids split mozzarella sticks and a cheese pizza. We'll definitely be back taco Tuesday or not Authentic (as best to my knowledge) NY style pizza.

She was patient and very helpful as well. I ordered a bacon and mushroom pizza. My go to pizza. The places is simple: ovens, slice station, and the prep counter. Exactly what's needed for a pizza place. The mural on the wall listed the 5 boroughs and had the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as the Statue of Liberty. I mean, New York is there. The pizza came out fast and I got back. Here's the thing: Florida is notorious for having lackluster pizza. There's no ways around it. The pizza was cooked perfectly, thin, and a thicker crust. Perfect for folding. The sauce: not too loose and not too thin. Good amount for pizza, regardless of location. Flavor wise, not bad. Cheese and toppings had the right amount so it could incorporate into every bite. Now going back to my statement on Florida pizza. It's better than other Floridian pizzas I've had. It scratched the itch and I definitely enjoyed it. They'll get my business when I come back to Jacksonville!

Walked in, plenty of tables available at least 6 tables and 2 bench 4 seat tables The pizza came out really quick... Almost like they were prepared before us even ordering. After waiting 20 mins to speak to the only server, the price of 2 pizza, one regular pep and one of their house special closed top pizza, both 16 in, the price was $60 with water for drinks. The pizzas came out in 15 mins max.... The pepperoni was good, and the cheese was ok. The house special ground beef pizza taste more like green peppers and halved garlic cloves than anything else. Both were mediocre at best. I can say, that I did enjoy the style of the closed top, which we may try this place once more, and try the closed top as their chicken Alfredo. Btw, the closed top cooked better the next day in the oven. Bottom and top both crisps up like it should have been initially. Overall, not worth the price, but I will try once more just to confirm.
