Not impressed. I was really craving bruschetta and ordered takeout from here since it's a small restaurant with limited seating. Unfortunately, what I got was super heavy, buttered garlic toast with tomatoes and cheese in cups on the side. No balsamic drizzle either, which is kind of a key part of bruschetta in my opinion. The bread was greasy and smelled so strongly of butter and garlic that it honestly made me feel sick. It didn't feel fresh or balanced at all, just really heavy. Maybe it's my fault for ordering bruschetta to go it, but this just didn't resemble the bruschetta I was expecting. It ended up being a waste of money since I couldn't even finish it and had to go somewhere else to get dinner. Pretty disappointing experience overall. read more

This is my favorite pizzeria in a 45 min radius (yes, better than V Pizza!) it's a tad pricey but it's totally worth it for us. We typically get 2 medium pies for about $48 including the tip (med. GF pepperoni/mushroom/pineapple & med. pepperoni/onion/banana peppers). Their lunch specials are great for my WFH days. Their Gluten-Free crust is my FAVORITE that I've been able to find but be aware that it might not be fully "# ppm" Celiac safe (same oven & counter space). Whenever we call to place the order for pickup, they always ask "Gluten allergy or preference?". I am NOT Celiac, but I try to avoid gluten for other health reasons - I always answer it's a preference. Ambiance... ideal for pickup only. But I love hanging out in there during lunch... definitely not somewhere you bring your family "out" to eat at. read more

We've had there pizza before and it was really good. Decided to try a stromboli and a Italian sub. Had it delivered. The stromboli was small but wife said it was ok. The sub was terrible. Not a lot of meat. Hardly any lettuce, and very soggy. Very disappointed. With prices the way they are felt like we wasted $35.00. read more

Taste, sauce, amount of cheese all on point except for the size of the slice (could have been slight larger), and while I love NY style, I want to be able to fold the slide and not have the tip of it flop down (middle of the pizza is too think. Wow, the calzones and Stromboli here used to be huge. They used to be delicious.. yesterday, I ordered 2 calzones and 1stromboli. All 3 were in the same box. The flavor was not as good as they used to be. The size was about half the previous size but the cost was increased. Almost $60.00 for the 3 items. Don't think I will order again. We used to love Brooklyn Pizza. The pizza was as close to a New York pizza as you could find in Jacksonville. Not anymore. Sorry. read more

A Pizza Shop That Doesn't Sell Pizza? What a Joke. I've been coming to this place once or twice a week -- probably one of their most loyal customers. The pizza is good, no question. But the business? The service? Terrible. Tonight I took my wife here to grab some pizza and celebrate her birthday week. While waiting for our usual large to-go order, I asked to buy 4-6 slices. Not free -- buy. The same slices that are clearly listed on the menu. The woman at the counter said no. Her reason? "We don't want to make a pie just to sell slices because we might not sell the rest." It was 6 PM on a Saturday -- two hours before they close. And I'm already buying a whole pie. This made no sense. Let me get this straight: You're a pizza shop, it's dinner time, you're open, your slice prices are on the board... and you're refusing to sell pizza? This isn't about slices. It's about how you treat people who support your business. I've spent a lot of money here, regularly, and I got treated like a burden for trying to order more. That's enough for me. Friendly folks, decent storefront, good pizza. But good pizza alone doesn't make up for bad business. I'm not coming back. read more

Don't expect table service or fine china, but you can bet your bottom dollar on getting a great slice of pizza. The pizza is truly authentic New York-style--crispy, thin dough (not thin crust, though!) topped with the perfect marinara sauce. The sauce is rich with a sweet and tangy tomato flavor that hits all the right notes. We've tried their cheese, pepperoni, Hawaiian, meat lovers, and margherita pizzas, and you really can't go wrong with anything they serve. The margherita comes with dried basil and minced garlic. The meat lovers pizza features a fantastic range of meats: pepperoni, bacon, ham, and sausage. And let me tell you, it's not that greasy, balled-up sausage--it's sliced sausage. We also tried their garlic bread, garlic knots, and cheesy garlic bread. If you're a garlic *guurrrl* like me, you're going to be obsessed with the garlic butter they slather on their breads. It's absolutely addicting! Beyond pizza, they have a wide menu with many Italian dishes and desserts. We tried the filled-to-order cannolis and tiramisu. The cannoli was better than any you can get street-side in Little Italy, New York. The shell was crisp, and the filling was rich yet light, not overly sweet. The tiramisu was just as great--the ladyfingers weren't mushy and had the perfect coffee flavor, while the mascarpone was creamy, light, and airy. I have been here twice and both times the soda machine was out. The wings are ok. I had to get more sauce cuz I liked mine dunked. I am very curious about the coffee soda. We shall see how it is. New family ownership within the past few months! But they did say they kept all of the recipes! Their Mother(in-law I believe)was working at the counter and their chef were both as sweet as can be! So friendly!! We got the Lunch Pizza Special and added some toppings! I had to drive about 30 mins so we knew we might need to heat it up again! We actually at our first slices room temp and they were delicious! Put both the 2nd slices in the oven for about 10 mins to reheat and very tasty!! And you get a Can of pop which is so much better! The restaurant is your typical quick service pizza shop feel with the big pizza oven on display! Will definitely go back again! read more

Sadly, this place is lacking a lot. I was hoping for some good pizza... but unfortunately, when I ordered the slices during the day... they just added the toppings to an already cooked and sitting cheese pizza on the counter at room temp. I saw they were hiring, and applied... got a call back, and worked 1 day. The people in the back making the dough balls don't wash their hands and don't wear gloves or anything to keep their hair out of the food. All of the dishes sit in water and are covered in rust, and not cleaned properly. The quality is nothing to be excited about and the price isn't that great. If you want rubber pizza and the entire staffs hands in your food... go here. read more

First of all this is the best pizza to get in north east Florida. Second of all it's a crime to say anything negative about their traditional cheese or pepperoni. The only reason for someone to not think this is not an 8 out of 10 is because they're used to bad florida pizza. Inside feels like a real ny pizza spot. I've loved this place for atleast half a decade that I've lived in this neighborhood. Love my favorite cheese pizza, but, they have all choices from veggie, to all meats, to pepperoni, to Sicilian, to combination of veggies and meats. Absolutely love their homemade recipes of the margarita sauce that's sold there as well. Have made some great pastas at home, for the significant other, using that sauce! When I saw my small pie, my eyes and mouth were so excited! The cheese was all that and they weren't stingy with the spinach, mushrooms, and mixed bell pepper chunks! It was delicious! The red velvet cupcake had a tempting cream cheese center that called my name, and I answered! It was not super sweet, a huge concern of mine, but just the right balance. I went in the late afternoon, so the cake, itself, was a little dry but the cream cheese center really helped it out. I will definitely be back for more on the menu!

I am the director of Just 4 Kids Learning Academy on Losco Road in Mandarin. Our summer camp children (ages 5 to 12) had just finished a community service visit to Augustine Landing Retirement Village where our children sang songs for the residents there and visited with them before going to Tijuana Flats at Bartram Park to eat lunch. We had 45 children and 6 counselors eating in the outside dining area of Tijuana Flats when one of the owners of Brooklyn Pizza (next door) began taking pictures of our children. When approached by one of our counselors asking this owner to please not take photos of our children without prior permission and their parents' permission, this man proceeded to cuss out my summer camp counselor using extreme f words and the like, all in the presence of our children. Of course we immediately reported this abusive behavior to the manager of Tijuana Flats. We trust that they in turn took care of this issue with the Brooklyn Pizza owners as at the time of this incident, our children and counselors were patrons and guests of Tijuana Flats. Obviously, this establishment (Brooklyn Pizza) does not care for children and displays this dislike in front of them. We felt everyone should know of this businesses character towards children and those individuals who have dedicated their careers to protecting and caring for them. read more

I consider myself a pizza connoisseur. I have made thousands of them and probably eaten just as many. I heard good things about Brooklyn Pizza and tried them just recently. I was having people over, so I got two regular crust pizzas, a couple sandwiches and a Sicilian style pizza. The regular style pizza was great, just about as good as you can hope for around here. It is on par with the better pizzerias around Jacksonville. The sandwiches were good, too but nothing special besides the homemade bread which is pretty good. The Sicilian pizza is what sold me and will have me ordering again. This thing is a 17 dollar monster of a pie. Fresh garlic and basil were the only toppings and it was delicious. The crust is fabulous. Plus, the thing is gargantuan and lasted me for days...warming up the leftovers in the toaster oven is almost better then fresh. I ordered them again to see if the quality was consistent and it was. Summary : Great food....get the Sicilian.....wish they delivered though. read more

Beware and read my previous review to get the full horror story *****This an update after my first review on July 8th, I had to go to the emergency room right after eating a couple small bits of a Stromboli at Brooklyn pizza because I was doubled over in some much pain. The hospital stated that I had food poisoning, I was given meds after being discharged and I am still experiencing some pain today July 17. read more

I normally see the door open, which put me off since they leave the pizza on the open. I went in and was ignored for about ten minutes while the girl working sliced meat, took a bite of her food and sip of her drink, then sliced meat again. The slices are okay but the dude that runs it is super flaccid. His way of life involves consistent cigarettes and littering. This pizzeria is great if you love having cigarette remnants spewed into the parking lot in front of this "business". Welcome to NY slob town! :( read more
