Every time I come I get the two Sliders. I LOVE the Sliders because it is the perfect amount of food wile I can still eat the amazing Onion Rings.

Ricardo J.

We came here today looking for a good greasy burger post-Saturday night overindulgence. The atmosphere and the service were good, but to be honest, the sides were better than the burgers. The regular fries were well cooked and came out straight from the fryer. The onion rings were very peppery and the batter was delicious. The batter didn't stay on easily, but it was well worth the struggle. The spicy curly fries were perfectly cooked, and also came out piping hot. All in all, a decent experience, but not one to run back to. It is nice, however, that they have good bar and a great atmosphere, both of which are very rare in Coppell.

Before arriving at the restaurant, I noticed the online menu did not have a cheeseburger. I was prepared to customize the JC's Classic by adding cheese. Fortunately, I noticed the signage for the Killer Burger, a triple-cheese bacon burger with their special sauce. When I also ordered the Nutella shake, she had to check with the kitchen first. So, I did not expect problems with my order. After a significant wait, I wondered if my shake would be delivered with my food. Just then, another employee notified me their milkshake machine was out of order. The news surprised me because the other employee had checked with the kitchen. Since I had no drink, I went back to get a refund and order a soda. After a short wait, the same employee who took my order returned to the register. She told me my credit card was not required, so I will see if a refund eventually appears on my statement. The Killer Burger was decent but also messy. Although I enjoyed the blend of the Swiss, American and Pepper Jack, the sauce hid their taste. The bacon strips would definitely please those who prefer theirs very crispy. By the time I had my last bite, half of the sauce dripped all over my hand.

I got the works burger with jalapeño, mushrooms, bacon and American cheese well done. The burger was big. I asked for well done fries and everything came out good just like how I asked. The fries were good Service was good and location was convenient! Would come back again

Great local restaurant! Friendly staff and good food! Especially tonight the onion rings! Lots of fun's games to keep the kiddos biliary and lots of TV's to keep up to date on sports!

Went here for lunch today and the burger was awesome. I love that the onion rings appear to be hand battered. I had the works which has mushrooms and Jalapeños on it. Very delicious and will definitely go back.

I was absolutely craving a great burger and shake for lunch and didn't want to drive too far. So I pull out the Yelp, pointed to Coppell and JC's popped up. Then jumped in the car and off I went! It was pretty easy to find in Coppell. I wasn't crowded and was early in the lunch period (around 11:20 am) I had already looked at the menu and ordered the Classic Burger w/ American cheese, fries and a chocolate shake. Paid by card (appreciated the clean pen/dirty pen process for COVID safety). Then I played Yelper and looked about the place as I waited on my order. They have a nice patio, a game room, a giant dinosaur, and LOTS of Big Screens on the walls. Tables of varying heights, a bar and lots of booths. The Bar serves adult beverages and with the near by booths, looks like a great place for an after work get together (when COVID is not an issue). The Game room looked like something kids to young adults would enjoy. My order, hmmmm. Not a big crowd, so all should be great, right? The hot food (burger and fries) came out but shake wasn't made. The counter person dumped in the shake base into the machine and was unsure how to make a shake. 3.5 minutes later, the woman in back made a chocolate shake. It was more of cold chocolate milk. The Hershey Chocolate syrup she put in was a little too much. The burger and fries were well packed. The burger was quite good and the lettuce, tomato and pickles were of good quality. The bun was fantastic! The fries were not that great. Thus 1/3 of the order was really good, 1/3 (fries) were okay and 1/3, the shake was terrible. 2 Stars may be generous.

JC's Burger Bar is a regional burger franchise that focuses on quality burgers, shakes, and now brews. There are several locations throughout DFW & this location has a full bar. Add some TVs, great service, and you have a winning combination....on paper. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located in a strip mall in Coppell, JC's is nice, open and clean. It's counter service, so you order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your order. Bonus - this location has a full bar with plenty of TVs. If JC's is trying to create an atmosphere for game day, they have succeeded. 1 Star. Service - Fantastic people here. We had a large group and even though it is counter service the staff checked on us & even refilled our drinks and beers. 1 Star. Food - I wanted to love the burgers here, but unfortunately, I only sort of liked it. I ordered the Nooner & The Works in slider form. Maybe I should have ordered the normal size burger because the patty was very thin & dry. The Nooner had a fried egg which helped give the patty some much needed moisture but both sliders were a letdown. Also, the buns for the sliders reminded me of dinner roll buns. Great at Thanksgiving but the yeast rolls weren't my taste. Next time I'll try the normal burger. 1/2 Star Will I Return? - Maybe - and if I do, I'll order one of those awesome looking shakes and a full size burger. The atmosphere & service are great so I feel a return is needed. 1/2 Star My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Dana K.

I've been to this location many times for the bar atmosphere, but this was the first time I've brought coworkers for lunch. All three of us were happy with our orders. Salad was good sized and salmon portion on top generous. Onion rings are hand dipped and always a winner here. Both burgers were cooked the way they asked and sweet potato fries cooked to a perfect crunch. Coworkers asked why I hadn't brought them here before and asked for it to be added to our lunch rotation of places to eat. It's a nice atmosphere, clean and a top notch staff. Coppell needs to hang on to this place and we'll definitely be repeat customers.

Cassie B.

The burger and onion rings are very tasty. If you want a quiet atmosphere, come around 5pm. People start coming in after 6pm. It's a nice place and they keep it very clean!

Brandon L.

Very much enjoyed this place! Looked fairly new when I went and had a cool vibe to the whole place. Lots of TVs and a couple of outside games to enjoy. Patties are fresh, which make the burgers much more delicious. What put this place over the top for me is the fact that they had curly fries, and on top of that spicy curly fries! Not many places have curly fries nowadays. Good place if you're in the area.

Richard S.

The place is a very lively and energetic place to get a burger if you are in the mood for something a bit more exciting than the run of the mill burger joint. The interior is new and clean. There are plenty of seating options including booths, large tables and outdoor seating. There is a bar on one side and a few games in the back. You walk in and order at the counter then seat yourself. The food is delivered to your table. The drinks are self serve and include the typical sodas and iced tea. FYI you need to get cup tops from the cashier, not at the drink area, as I eventually found out. There is a complimentary ice cream machine . The menu has a lot of variety including beef burgers, turkey, chicken, salads, tacos, and the usual sides. The beef burger was Ok. It was overcooked a bit and lacked seasoning, in my opinion. I selected grilled onions and grilled jalapeno for an upcharge but there were hardly any on the burger. The turkey burger was better but be aware that it is different than the typical turkey patty : it seems fresh ground and has a good amount of seasoning. If you want a more clean taste then go for the grilled chicken. The cashier was friendly but he didn't know the size of the burger patty and he didn't realize that chicken soup was on the menu.

Don R.

I've known about JC's Burger Bar in Coppell for a while, but hadn't gotten over that way to give it a try. I finally made time to try it out and wasn't disappointed, but I was surprised at how much more they had to offer than the typical burger joint. The menu offers a variety of specialty burgers (including a gluten free bun option!) as well as appetizers, chicken sandwiches, soups, salads, tacos and shakes, so there's likely something for everyone. The restaurant is larger than most burger joints, including a number of outdoor tables, a bar area and multiple televisions to watch the game. There's also free self-serve soft-serve as well as a small arcade in a separate room in the back. If you're looking for something new and have little ones, don't let the bar scare you off, as it's definitely more a restaurant vibe than bar. On this occasion, I had the opportunity to sample the Jalapeno Sausage & Cheddar Burger and the BBQ Bacon Burger. We also opted for the onion rings. Their burger is a single patty - probably 1/4 pound with good flavor, that you can tell is fresh-cooked, and the bun and toppings are all good. While soft, the bun didn't fall apart, which I appreciate. Although the burgers were good, what really won me over were the Onion Rings! Crisp, not chewy, and a crunchy, peppery, well-seasoned breading. These are probably my favorite onion rings that I've had in the entire Metroplex. I may be back just for a plate of onion rings and a beer - be a good gameday snack! There are also so many other items on the menu - including some pretty good-sounding shakes! - that I'll have to make my way back sometimes soon. JC's Burger Bar is definitely a place I'd suggest if you're going to be in the Coppel area and, if you're on the East side, they also have locations in Mesquite and Richaardson.

Between me and my friends, we've probably ordered curbside pickup about 8 separate times from JC's. Overall, the burger patties themselves are pretty average (generally overcooked but ok), the toppings i would say excellent and the fries/onion rings are excellent as well. Out of the 8 times only 1 time have we gotten ketchup after requesting it - i'm not sure what the deal is, but even tonight when i called to say i had arrived for curbside i told the individual to please give me ketchup. Sure enough no ketchup was in my bag. It seemed like not a big deal at first, but now i'm like yall outta ketchup or what? read more

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of JCs burger bar!! The burgers are huge and delicious, and although sometimes the size and quality of the burger vary from visit to visit, we never have a complaint. Their fries are puffy and crunchy and the stuff of dreams! They are so kind and provide ranch for me on the side since I can't have ketchup with my fries. The ambiance is fine, it's definitely catered to a younger crowd with all of the games and arcade in the back. The workers vary and tend to be on the younger side but we have had nothing but excellent service. The only downside is sometimes it can be loud or you can have an odd experience trying to eat from teenagers choosing this as their hangout spot but that comes with the age. The only complaint is sometimes there can be a bit of stickiness or mess from a lack of staff and a lunch rush. Overall, we are huge fans of this place and it is our favorite burger place in the metroplex! read more

The food is good. The wait for the food is awful. It's hard to believe that it takes 40 minutes to cook a few burgers. Even when Twisted Root is super busy they can still crank out food. JC's has a long way to go. Also the ice cream is free which is nice, but it is super grainy and not very good. I wanted to love this place so much, I really did. We left Great Wolf Lodge to have dinner here with the kids. It was empty but it was a Sunday night so no biggie. The four of us ordered burgers, three ordered shakes and my husband ordered the spicy curly fries. The food arrived hot but the burgers were okay, not delicious. The burger I forgot to get pics but they were good I'm not wow"d but . Maybe cuz I ordered turkey burger it had good flavor for a turkey burger. My daughter got a regular burger and she loved it . I got a side salad and thus the 4 stars for me ...the dressing was in the small sauce container and I like a lot of dressing / ranch on my salad and I didn't have enough for my salad cld not finish the side salad no dressing :( The salad was decent your norm croutons lettuce cheese cucumbers and small tomatoes .. this place is cool If u have kids they have an area for the kids to play arcade games and a big chalk board for them to write on they have sweet tea non sweet tea and mango ur normal Dr Pepper coke fauna orange sprite and so on .. the jc killer sauce tasted like thousand island dressing not any type of hot sauce idk why I think hot with a name like " killer" but it was aight . They have this big dinosaur statue if ur kids like dinosaurs...they have a full bar And my fav part of this place was the seating has high bar seating U sit high and it has a resting bar for ur feet :) you can also sit outside but it's too hot in Texas ! All and all the food was good 2 nice size burgers one was a kids meal came with side of fries and a drink and i got a side salad and one Dr Pepper just under $25 ... their burgers are bigger than Smashburger so that's a plus ! It's definitely worth a good burger ! read more

Highly disappointed, because this place looks great but our order was incorrect and missing items, everything was cold and either tasted old, the bread was stale. I Ordered through Grubhub. 4 burgers only got 3, the burgers were cold, the buns were HARD. Order an order of 2 grilled chicken tacos, only got 1 taco. Ordered 4 sides to go with our burger, only got TWO of them. I was left hungry and disappointed. The website says this location closes at 10, google says 8pm. Never have a been so disappointed with a food place. I called to place an order initially and was left on hold for 5 minutes!! The phone doesn't ring sometimes when you call so you're left assed out! Decided to try this new place because of the impossible burger offering. Ample amount of parking. I dined in around 5:15pm. I didn't have a wait to order. I ordered the impossible burger (no onions, no cucumbers, add pickles) on white bun instead of wheat and regular sweet potato fries. The restaurant had about 10-14 customers, including me. My food came out promptly but half wrong and half right. I asked for pickles and no cucumbers. My burger had neither. While waiting for an employee to walk by or near me, I noticed the majority of the wait staff was in the kitchen or in the kitchen area. After about 10 minutes passed by I finally made contact with one of the servers and requested a side of pickles. Overall, the burger is somewhat what I expected with a plant-based burger but not what I envisioned. Also, I'm going to say the majority of the waitstaff are high school students who are doing a great job with having a job during the school year but I would suggest the manager(s) limit the fraternization when customers are present. Another perk is you can serve yourself a free ice cream cone! read more

A relaxed atmosphere outside, we enjoyed the view. Our server was quick to greet us and bring us menus (though they DO have a QR menu available on every table). We added some goat chips too! Of note, they have a rotating burger battle that is always fun to see, and try. We didn't get one this time, but am always up to try one. This was my first time here, and we had actually spied the current Burger Battle online before we arrived. It was a tough call, but Hatch chile season only comes around once a year, so we went with the "Hatch Me If You Can" burger with chiles, queso and tortilla chips. DELISH. But the real star of the show was the Cobb salad. It was loaded with goodies -- goat cheese, bacon, avocado and more -- but the absolute BEST part was the tempura battered jalapeños. WOOO-EEE. Those things were tremendous! And hot tip: there's a happy hour with $6 sangrias (I think they're called Rattlesnakes?). Whatever they're called, they were YUM. And yum again. A couple of less-great notes: the bathroom was kind of annoying. TP was out in every stall, and ladies, can we all agree that if you have to scoot back over the toilet in order to shut the stall door, the stall is too small? There is plenty of room in the bathroom, so that was a frustrating trip to the loo. Another hot tip: get the sweet potato fries! They seem to be less frequently ordered, which means you're more likely to get them hot. We were initially delivered someone else's order, and before I realized it, I did have one of their (cold) fries. Overall, a really tasty meal with some standout items. I'd definitely come back -- especially for that Cobb salad and those jalapeños!

We hate being "those people," so we turned around, got back in the car, and started searching Yelp for somewhere else to go because we honestly had no idea what to do next. We're here for a conference, and I had been SO excited to eat at Twisted Root. I lived near the Dallas location for years and have missed this place so much. Tonight, though, we were tired, hungry, and honestly at the end of our ropes after a really hard week. As we were sitting in the car trying to figure out where to go, someone who I'm assuming was the manager came out, knocked on our window, and told us to come inside. I honestly almost cried. We told him we were completely fine getting our food to go, but he insisted that we come in, sit down, and eat. The entire team was incredibly kind to us, and I don't think they could possibly know how much that small act of kindness meant in that moment. In the last seven days, we've lost two family members, and we're all reeling a little. I had to be at this conference, so I brought my husband and kiddo with me because I didn't want to leave them alone and because I thought all of us could use a little fun and togetherness. Today had actually been a good day, but it was exhausting. We got delayed leaving the hotel for dinner, and when we realized we had missed our chance to eat here, I was genuinely so disappointed. Except apparently we hadn't. I know letting a family come in five minutes before closing and serving them burgers and fries may not seem like a huge thing. But tonight, it was huge to us. We needed that burger and those fries in more ways than your team could have known. Thank you, Twisted Root. You guys have officially earned forever-favorite status with me. And please come back to the Austin area someday. But maybe think Liberty Hill/Leander/Cedar Park. Just saying. Most importantly, your Coppell team deserves ALL the love. Thank you so very much for the kindness you showed our family tonight.

I kept it simple and ordered the "All American" burger with a side house salad. My food came out quickly and was nice and hot. I also liked that they had a variety of housemade and regular condiments available, plus a pickle bar in the corner--which is a fun touch. The side salad was anything but basic. It was fresh, colorful, and vibrant--definitely a win if you're a visual eater like me. The balsamic vinaigrette paired well with it too. As for the burger, it was solid. I liked that they serve the veggie toppings on the side so you can customize it exactly how you want. Just a heads up: burgers are cooked medium by default unless you specify otherwise. Overall, everything tasted great, but the portion was pretty filling--I only made it through about half of my burger. Prices were reasonable as well: $11.50 for my burger and $4.50 for my side salad. Honestly the burger was one of the best I've had in some time. It was fresh and delicious. I added bacon... because it's America! The wings were cooked to crispy perfection and the sauce was sticky hot and sweet. I'm definitely coming back to try some more deliciousness!

My friend and I spent $27 total for 2 Phillys that were small (about a 5 inch long cheesesteak each) and 2 tiny Philly rolls that I couldn't taste any flavor in the rolls other than just fried tasting. The service is friendly, and portions are huge, and there's no doubt you'll take your portions home. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Jackie's Ham 'n Eggs sits in a Lewisville strip mall. Inside you'll find plenty of tables with blue and white checkered tablecloths. There's some artwork on the walls that remind me of eating at someone's home. But other than that, it's a plain restaurant. 1/2 Star. Service - "Good people" work here. I scheduled a UYE at Jackie's and the number of attendees will vary, but the staff (shout out to Heather) was so nice and welcoming that I was put at ease. I even met the owner, and I could tell from our short conversations that they really care about making sure each person goes home full. 1 Star. Food - First, when I said their pancakes are huge, I'm not exaggerating. Take a look at the photos and see for yourself. There's lots on the menu, but I was there to eat the pancakes. My short stack had two pancakes, and while they were big and wide, they were also light and fluffy. I channeled my inner child and ate from the inside out, making a small pool of syrup in the center. Don't do what I did, because they'll give you a pizza box to take your leftovers home, and mine looked silly with a big hole in the middle. Now, the best part of my meal was the price. You get tons of food for a good value. 1 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. The large pancakes may be a gimmick to get you to try them, but their kind staff and family welcoming atmosphere will have you coming back. 1 Star.

Don't get me wrong, the food was good too but the staff here really is something else! The giant sized pancake did not disappoint. I I got the traveler light which was eggs, meat and one pancake. The pancake was quite thick but still fluffy. Other than the size it was a basic pancake enjoyed with syrup. My meat was corned beef hash, subbed in for a small upcharge. It was spectacular. I couldn't get enough. They also have their own hot sauce which went great with the eggs. Besides that, it's a nice size restaurant, good for groups and lots of parking. I wish they were closer to where i live because I can see myself coming down here often if not for the drive.
