We showed up about five minutes before closing tonight and started to walk in when someone stopped us and let us know they were closing in five minutes. We hate being "those people," so we turned around, got back in the car, and started searching Yelp for somewhere else to go because we honestly had no idea what to do next. We're here for a conference, and I had been SO excited to eat at Twisted Root. I lived near the Dallas location for years and have missed this place so much. Tonight, though, we were tired, hungry, and honestly at the end of our ropes after a really hard week. As we were sitting in the car trying to figure out where to go, someone who I'm assuming was the manager came out, knocked on our window, and told us to come inside. I honestly almost cried. We told him we were completely fine getting our food to go, but he insisted that we come in, sit down, and eat. The entire team was incredibly kind to us, and I don't think they could possibly know how much that small act of kindness meant in that moment. In the last seven days, we've lost two family members, and we're all reeling a little. I had to be at this conference, so I brought my husband and kiddo with me because I didn't want to leave them alone and because I thought all of us could use a little fun and togetherness. Today had actually been a good day, but it was exhausting. We got delayed leaving the hotel for dinner, and when we realized we had missed our chance to eat here, I was genuinely so disappointed. Except apparently we hadn't. I know letting a family come in five minutes before closing and serving them burgers and fries may not seem like a huge thing. But tonight, it was huge to us. We needed that burger and those fries in more ways than your team could have known. Thank you, Twisted Root. You guys have officially earned forever-favorite status with me. We were craving a burger so we decided to visit Twisted Root in Coppell for dinner. This is an order at the counter kind of place but we wanted drinks also so the cashier rang us up and served us at the bar. I ordered the perfect margarita and my husband ordered a Yuengling. I liked the margarita - very smooth. It was a little sweet for my taste but I normally order skinny margaritas so that's probably why. As far as food, we split some fries and we both ordered burgers and they were great. I got a bison burger with blue cheese and bacon. Only minor thing was the bottom bun was pretty soggy but I just took it off and still really enjoyed the burger. They have several flavors of pickles in the front and it's self serve. They also bring all kinds of sauces which were all good. I sampled all of them via dipping a fry in them. I had to hunt down a knife to cut my burger but otherwise the service was good. I've been coming to Twisted Root for years (at several of their locations), and it is always so good! I decided to try the Burger of the Month which was the Big Back Burger. I enjoyed it. The staff was also nice and patient, even though we came during the lunch rush. The only reason why I can't give a five star review is because the tables were beyond filthy. I set my straw (wrapped in plastic) on the table and it got stuck. I attempted to clean the table myself and it helped a bit, but it was so filthy. This spot was such a pleasant surprise! They have a super cute outdoor eating area. It is perfect for nice weather. I really enjoyed their complimentary pickle bar, which had a bunch of fun and unique flavors (such a cool touch!). I always enjoy coming here for a good burger. Their burger is different and tastes great. I like the ability to just craft my own with everything I like on a burger. Fries are good and crispy. Of course, all of their pickles is a great extra. Plus we can take our dog and get him a patty to chow. My only advice is that the soda dispenser does not seem like they are managing it. When I tried the Diet Coke it clearly was not mixed well and was more soda than syrup. The root beer was fine. So, some worked. But, I'm a Diet Coke fan. Nice airport burger, but as expected for the airport ...over priced. It wasn't super crowded so I was able to order quickly and find a table for myself. My number was called in less than the 10 minutes they say it may take. I ordered the Steak Burger which comes with mushrooms, Carmelized onions and steak sauce. Lettuce and tomato is served on the side and I didn't use it. The sauce tastes super similar to A1. The burger was bigger and better than most fast food (and more expensive). The bun was so soft it squished when you pick it up - but that's a good thing! Buns are smaller than the burger so you're not overwhelmed with bread. Burger was moist and fresh and tasty. I ordered onion rings and they were crispy with real whole onions and minced like some places (Burger King!). Went to Twisted Root for the first time in a long time, first time on a Saturday evening. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and the vibe - live music (a little loud for our old ears), open windows, lots of people. We were delighted that our super picky son not only ate the grilled cheese but wanted another. The second one was really soggy though. This place place featured in season 6 of Triple D, and boy does it live up to expectations! The inside is very unique, and the best way to describe the theme is "Texas". There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. I was indecisive about what to get, and the server was very helpful in helping me narrow it down. My husband and I have been to a few different Twisted Root locations and to be honest, we were pretty disappointed in this one. We really were excited since this isn't far from where we live- and on the Friday night we went it wasn't too busy! It is located in a really cute area in Coppell they are building up with new homes and businesses - we had high hopes. Our first issue was lack of instruction when you walk in. There was no formal line and everyone was just standing around. And once we ordered they didn't give you any instruction on what to do next other than take the buzzer and wait. The wait was very long, especially for it not being busy and we eventually just went and got a table instead of standing around. The burgers were fine, and the fries too, but for 2 burgers and fries- and just a water- we paid almost $30 for mediocre food. It also wasn't super clean, none of the staff cared about wiping down tables when anyone was finished and were too busy chatting up front. It is a cute location in the dining room, but I doubt we will be back due to the price, food quality and and lack of attention to cleaning up. read more

The burgers are great, I had a millionaire burger that was super good the onion strings are good, fries are just okay I would go for fried pickles or onion strings than the fries. The pickles are all pretty good too, that is a neat idea. The place itself is a huge place good for groups and a nice looking restaurant. They also have different meats like elk, and camel and others I can't remember but those are kind of taxed. Whole menu is overpriced but not crazy.
