From an alcohol standpoint, this airport location is okay if you have a decent layover and plan on waiting for quite a while to receive service. This is mainly due to staff shortages at this location (two people to accommodate 25-30?). Either which way, the alcohol choices are decent (tends to favor more mixed drinks), as well as about 5-6 draft beer choices at $5 a pop. Bottled domestics tend to be close to $8, while imports range from around $9.00-10.75. Food? Oh c'mon now! The choices are pretty much a couple of hot dogs, nachos, and three White Castle Sliders. Its pretty much a joke, yet I understand why this is set up like this: it favors the traveler that wants a quick bite while running through the terminal to catch their flight. But seriously, if you want a decent meal (not a great one), look no further than across the hallway to Dickey's BBQ (yet with less alcohol choices). Other than that, you may be better off stuffing your face with vending machine garbage. The music here is actually pretty good (thank you Pandora & Spotify). The customer service is slow, yet understand that there really are two employees that work here to service a throng of customers. If you offer pizza to go, it should be able to fit in the box without stacking it. This was clearly microwaved because the crust was so tough and chewy I couldn't eat it. All the cheese had fallen off before I got it because they had to stack the slices to put it in the to go box. The pizza was $13 and I was barely able to eat any of it. Even if the plating had been appropriate, the pizza was terrible. The menu was extremely limited. Other than salad, this was the only vegetarian option. What's funny here is that as I sat down to right this review, a representative from DFW came up to me asking me for my opinion of the airport. My immediate comment was "the Flybar sucks." I mean really, a "bar" with the only white wine available as moscato, is a bad sign. Further, the "fly sticks" that are shown on the menu aren't even carried anymore. Where do you go for a drink when your late night flight is delayed in Terminal E? Unfortunately, trapped in Terminal E lead us to Fly Bar. I CANNOT believe how horrible my brief experience at this bar was. There are plenty of bars in airports and I have never been to one so rude and disgusting. It was packed and everyone was trying to pay and everyone was being ignored. All of the tables were dirty, the counter was dirty, all of tr waitress' mouths were dirty. I asked if I could sit down and one of the waitresses said no. She wasn't joking, the seat was free, she was just being openly rude. A kind older woman came up to ask if she could get a hot dog to go and I have never seen a patron yelled at like they did her -- they said no, then they yelled across the bar and asked another girl working there if she could make her a hot dog to go and the girl yelled "FOR WHO? DOES IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE TIME FOR YOUR BULLSHIT?" Every patron was exchanging "oh my god" faces every half of a second, as soon as one of the employees would FINALLY take the customers money the customer would immediately leave as they had been waiting for 10+ min-- hence they have received an absurd amount in tips. I sat at the bar for 15 minutes until I decided to leave. I hadn't even been asked what I would like even though I blatantly had $20 and my ID in my bag. I've never been so outraged at a bar! Granted, from what I've seen of it, it doesn't look so hot. But I'm usually here to drink, so the food is no big deal to me. Food review mainly. Came here with a group. It's the kind of place I guess where it's alcoholic drinks first, and thoughts of a food menu second. Honestly they would be better off coordinating with the other food Court restaurants to offer some of their grub in a waitered service, rather than this menu of hot dogs, rather poor salads, and sandwiches. They should focus on some bar food staples, and then work with some of the other food options within the terminal or airport to offer some other more interesting items, maybe even something more local to the area. There are limited sit down dining options in the terminal, so why not offer better choices and even charge a little premium for the offering given the table service (even though it was quite in attentive.). Good god, this is a train wreck of an airport bar. Nothing comes out quickly, they have no idea what you ordered, and the place isn't even that big. How can you mess up giving alcohol to thirsty travelers? The guys sitting next to me at the bar started a drinking game about the number of times the staff screwed up, looked frazzled, or completely melted down. They even ran out of pint glasses. If I had the time I would have walked to another bar, but their proximity to my gate forced my hand. The one positive is that they mispoured a drink, so I got a freebie. This was gross. I travel a lot across the country. Fly Bar, by far, is the most disgusting airport bar/"restaurant" I've been to. Couple this with bad service and you have a nightmare. 1. Self seating, but I waited for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment so I decided to move sests (should've left then). 2. New seat and table were completely broken and unbalanced. I set my backpack down and the table toppled to the side. 3. Slow service still (see #1). 4. Luke warm, EXPENSIVE beer. $9.25 for 16oz. Even that is a bit unreasonable for airports. 5. Half of the food wasn't available on the menu (mini spring rolls, healthy choice options) so I ordered chicken strips. These were GROSS. The chicken tasted rank and old and wasn't edible. I'd rather go hungry than get food poisoning. 6. The tables weren't wiped down between guests unless the tables were a mess. For sanitation's sake... come on! All in all, if you're hungry in DFW Terminal E... go to Dickeys. Cross your fingers I'm not throwing up in four hours from the bite of chicken I did eat. Bleh. read more

I feel terrible for the poor gal waiting tables but she is clearly in over her head. The menu is very limited. Only 1/2 of the tables are full and the wait staff is both preparing food and bartending. My food came--it was wrong--but I decided to go for it rather than try the ordeal of sending it back with hopes of ever getting lunch. This is the only bar in this wing of the airport, so there is nothing to compare it to. The service is extremely slow, but the staff is usually very friendly. The manager (who has been there every time I've been) is extremely friendly and if she notices you've been waiting she makes sure you get taken care of. She also recognizes when you're a regular and tries to give you a little quicker service. Beer is a little overpriced and they are often out of stock/off tap, but its an airport, what do you expect? I've only ordered food once-- got the salad with chicken on top. It was okay. It was literally lettuce, two tomato slices, a cut up chicken tender and a side of whatever dressing you selected. Again, you get what you pay for, and its airport food. I will obviously be coming here again, since it is the only bar in the section of the airport. But it is definitely not brag-worthy. read more

I was waiting for someone to land and they ended up having their flight delayed by 4 hours, around hour 2.5 I got smart and decided to take a seat at the bar. Thankfully, Sam gave awesome service and even gave me a heads up that the car rental company might try and pull a fast one on me for being late. He played with my daughter (who after 11 hours traveling was losing her mind!) And somehow attended to all the patrons single handedly. Legitamtely, there were at least 20 people here and he is making food, drinks and somehow attending and giving great service to everyone. I have never been so impressed by a bartender. read more

I take late night flights, mainly because it seems I am always flying to Phoenix on Spirit and the only flight leaves near midnight. I always stop by Fly Bar and have a pre-flight drink. It seems to be the only bar I can shut down. I guess I'm getting old. Every time I stop by the bartenders are super friendly and make amazing (strong) drinks. They get me ready for those ridiculously small seats I have to cram my big butt into for 2 hours. read more

My husband and I got to the airport and had a very delayed flight. We stopped here to watch some NCAA basketball and have a drink while we waited. The people working were extremely rude, dirty, and dismissive. They were out of 90% of the food and drinks that they offered; which didn't matter to my husband and I at all. However, it was very strange and was a huge inconvenience the most of the other folks who stopped while we were there. Faster service at the bar, and since the bartender takes bar seat orders as well as making all drinks, those sitting at bar get drinks before tables, even if they arrived after tables. Took forever to get my card back since waitress either forgot to run it or became too busy with other tasks. I could see someone missing their flight because of this slow service. Tried to order again, had to flag another one down to order, then yet another to remind her about our drinks, and finally got them and our check.
