Custom Slice of Pizza with 3 Toppings
    Ricardo J.

I love good local pizza places that offer up their pies by the slice. You can walk away feeling like John Travolta at the beginning of Saturday Night Fever. The sun is out, you can hear music playing, people are walking by saying hi, all of that. Me? I eat mine ashamed like a troll in some parking lot, away from people and their spying eyes, sitting in my car hunched over like I got punched in the gut. The only gut punch you get here is a full shot of pizza goodness to the belly: perfectly crisp pizza heavily topped with good quality ingredients, not greasy and well-balanced. If you don't believe me, just look at the photos I have posted here over the years. This is a great spot for pizza on the go.

    Ravioli
    Chris F.

The food tasted good but seemed a lil bland when I ate the pizzas but the Ravioli had the flavor that I was looking for. It was warm with just the right amount of everything. Flavor was all balanced. The service was also great. You go in sit down and they hand you menus. The ambiance in the room had its ups and downs. It was little too quiet but it was just that I was the only one in there.

    Take out menu.

Went in just to see what they have and was pleasantly surprised with all the choices. I have lived right next to this place for YEARS and I'm really disappointed in the fact that I didn't start coming here much earlier. The menu has something for everyone. I chose something very simple, pepperoni pizza and ceaser salad. Delicious. I will definitely be adding this place to my rotation.

I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. I can't put my finger on it. It's "clique-y". Every time I come, I walk into an empty restaurant with no host. And it seems I've walked in before they opened. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels!

The owner of the restaurant took our order and offered good suggestions. He raved about their Tiramisu and we wanted to try if for dessert. The starters we tried were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta bowls come with breadsticks and is perfect for one. The bowls are not shareable but the flavors were excellent. Do try the tiramisu for dessert. It is highly recommended. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. The restaurant offers beer, wines and cocktails with a full bar service. Pricing: Not an inexpensive restaurant but it's worth the money you pay. Will I return? : For sure!

If you are looking for a charming, "no-frills" spot for classic Italian-American comfort food, this is a very dependable option. The absolute highlight of our visit was the staff. The people here couldn't have been nicer! They were welcoming and extremely accommodating, especially when it came to customizing my order. Food: * House Salads: We started with the house salads featuring their homemade tomato vinaigrette. It was unique--it tasted like they might incorporate some of their tomato sauce into the dressing base. It was okay, though perhaps an acquired taste if you prefer a sharper vinaigrette. * Eggplant Parm & Custom Pasta: I ordered the Eggplant Parm and asked to swap the side pasta for angel hair with vodka sauce. They were happy to do it for a small upcharge. The eggplant itself was quite good! My only critique is that the sauce was very chunky (I like a smoother sauce) and the portion of it was a bit overwhelming, but that might just be a personal preference. * Fettuccine Alfredo: My husband went with the classic Alfredo. He described it as a "solid 7/10"--nothing was wrong with it at all, just a standard, reliable version of the dish that satisfied the craving. Final Thoughts Cafe Italia is a sweet little place that is a decent option if you're hungry for the classics and want to be treated like family. We're glad we finally checked it off our list!
