Wednesday night and we had all the Italian feels. We were craving some delicious creamy pasta and crusty bread with a generous helping of butter- The bread did not disappoint! Thick slices of bread in a warm basket and butter for days.... I was very impressed with my chicken fettuccine Alfredo- large portion, creamy goodness. My friends were not very happy with the lack of flavor for their shrimp scampi. They did enjoy the large portions of shrimp. They split a dish because they were not hungry enough for their own entree. We did enjoy our time at Bruno's. When the check arrived we noticed a $10 split charge. This wasn't mentioned on the menu or by our waiter. The manger kindly removed it. That was not a highlight- it did kind of ruin our experience, but we appreciated the time the manger took to clear it up. We would understand if it was a policy or printed somewhere for us to see but this made us feel kind of like it was sneakily done. We were willing to look fast that

Always a good, predictable experience at Bruno's. Nice classic atmosphere with views of the canal. The (live) piano music in the background is a nice touch. While "Bruno's Special" was good enough, I'm not sure I'd order it again. Too many other options to try on return visits.

Went to this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not busy because we only saw 2 other tables with customers. Our waitress was not attentive. We told her this is our first time and the restaurant and told her we don't know what to order, she proceeded to give us more time to look at the menu but was hoping for her to give us recommendations but that was not part of her service. I ordered chicken alfredo and my friend ordered risotto. We had to ask her for the complimentary bread when our food arrived. She did not give it to us willingly. She did not ask if we wanted a drink other than the water that was provided in the beginning. I wanted a glass of wine but did not order because she did not ask and we were already ready to leave. When my friend went to the restroom, she saw our waitress at the bar drinking wine. WOW but could not even ask if we wanted a soda or wine. TWhen we left, there were other staff by the door and NO ONE told us "thank you" " good night" not even our own waitress! It was dead silent and we never felt so unwelcome! Never again!! We were so mad we decided to take our chance to eat here since it was only 10 minutes away. The food was okay but the service is horrible. The check had a name of Figuera and I am guessing that is the waitress name or maybe it was the lady who brought us water. The waitress is an African lady with some sort of french accent?? This place will never get a penny from me ever again.

I came here for my bookclubs Christmas dinner party, and it was perfect. They had enough space for about 23 people; they gave us two separate servers, and one, in particular, was just amazing. I hate I can't recall his name, but we received exceptional service. The Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo was super tasty, and I LOVED the cheesecake.

A beautiful place, with good food. My friends and I went on a recent trip to the DFW region. Great atmosphere, attention to detail and service.

We came her because we were celebrating a birthday. If it was not for the service or the view, I could have easily rated this place a two star. For the appetizer we ordered the shrimp and fried zucchini. The shrimp had completely no flavor and if it wasn't for the sauce to dip it wouldn't have been appetizing. The zucchini was served with a side of marinara which tasted straight out of a can. There was also complimentary bread which tasted like left over microwaved bread. For the entree I ordered the orange roughy which was served with a side of rice and artichokes. I ordered a side of steamed veggies and the carrots were rock hard and luke warm at most. Others in my party ordered the chicken parmesan which was served with penne pasta. They stated the pasta tasted from a box and the marina lacked seasoning. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and chocolate cake. Both were mediocre at best. Unfortunately all the dishes lacked any flavor and after reading a few reviews it was quite disappointing. There are photos of celebrities photographed in the restaurant which seemed dated and possibly there has been a change in the chief because the food would not have anyones recommendation in my opinion.

I had heard a lot of hype about this place and I was excited to try them and came here with a group of friends from work. When you first walk in it's pretty impressive. Right in the entryway are pictures of the owner with several of the Dallas Cowboys including the owners and every coach. When you walk into the dining room it is elegant with beautiful views for the area. It overlooks one of the canals in the Valley Ranch area and create a scenic setting for a pleasant lunch while overlooking the water and the pathways around the water. The service was good and the warm bread that they bring you what is soft I am delicious. I ordered the lemon chicken piccata. I have a real problem when I pay almost $15 for a piece of chicken that is fatty. You cannot tell me that no one in the kitchen notice this when they were preparing the chicken breasts. I would say about one-fifth of my chicken breast was inevitable because of the fat it was grisled with. Overall though the taste was good and everything else about the experience was pretty decent so I will probably be back again and give them another try and adjust my review accordingly.

I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels!

What surprised us, however, was being charged $2 for a small cup of hot water with lemon. We were never informed that there would be a charge, nor was it mentioned when we requested it. In all our years of dining at restaurants, both locally and internationally--this is the first time we've ever been charged for hot water with lemon. We were also charged for an extra serving of rolls. Initially, I requested a roll without garlic, but the server explained that the rolls were already prepared with garlic butter, so we agreed to have them served. That was perfectly fine since my husband and son ate them. Later, after we had finished our pasta, the server offered another serving of rolls, he mentioned he has non garlic butter on them. We politely declined, but he said they were already prepared and would serve them anyway. Because of that, we assumed they were complimentary. We only realized when we received the bill that we had been charged for the additional rolls. While we still enjoyed the food, we believe these charges should have been clearly communicated beforehand so customers can make informed decisions and avoid unexpected surprises on the bill. I will remember this if I wanted another puttanesca next time :( From my previous 4 stars, I'll put it down to 3 because of those unacceptable charges

Now, I want to clarify my comment... because this time warp was a really great thing! The decor was true 80's. The music was also from the 70s/80s. Heck, the people working there might have been working there since the 80s too. It just had a consistent 80s feel. And it was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time! My husband and I walked in 15 minutes before the restraint closed, and we were met with a smile from the greeter. No one rushed us, no one complained that we were coming in at the end of their shift. Instead, everyone treated us as if we were the first customers of the day. I enjoyed my meal and tipped the price of the meal because of the outstanding service we received. Now for the food. I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich. Nothing fancy. And yet it was delicious! My chicken was tasty, tender, and cooked perfectly. I honestly enjoyed every bite. And if everything wasn't already amazing in the restaurant (the nostalgic feel, great service, and great food) I noticed their prices were very reasonable.
