    Joe's Spaghetti

I love this place! Have been here several times, usually order pizza by the slice and/or garlic knots. Both great options. Today I tried the spaghetti and really enjoyed it. I always get treated well here. Prob my favorite local lunch spot!

    Incorrect hours

This place is barely open. The door says they close at 7pm, The reality is they apparently close at 5pm. Which I was told when I complained since I had come twice to find the establishment closed. According to the extremely unapologetic woman at the counter the owner just hasn't taken time to change the outdoor signage. Then she mentioned something about covid which I'm pretty sure was like 2 years ago now. Get your sh*t together people! Your customers time is valuable don't waste it by posting incorrect hours. They're lucky this place isn't actually in NY or someone would have thrown a brick through their window for pulling crap like that. THIS IS A LUNCH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT. Such a waste as its next to several developments with thousands of residents, has decent food and could actually be an awesome place. However, lazy owners that only want to work a few hours a day ruined what could have been a solid place. Maybe they'll sell and someone who wants to own and run a restaurant will buy it. Here's to hoping!!!

Best NY pizza place in North Texas

I love pizza. I love all kinds of pizza. I love going to New York and having their pizza. I now love going to Famous Joe's in Carrollton to get New York Pizza, pasta, stambolli or you name it from a real life New Yorker. How do I know he is from NY? Go there and you will see for yourself. He is no nonsense kind of guy who makes unbelievably great food. The many varieties of pizza by the slice, the traditional stromboli, calzones and pasta's are just like you get in New York from real New York italians. Not to mention the attitude. That makes you feel like you back on the Manhattan streets during lunch rush. order, pay, sit down and wait. If you want true New York itialian food, go give Joe some time and he won't let you down. They do full pizza's as well if you need to feed a group. Love this place and I make time to go there when I on this side of town. It's right off Valley view and the GBT behind the QT and Jack in the Box.

I love coming to this place. I eat here once a week and the pizza is always great. But today this is what I got served for a carry out order. They should've known this wasn't good when it was packed up. It was a to go order so they probably thought I wouldn't notice till I got far away. Just do better.

I came here for lunch and man was I glad I did! The places that serve true New York style pizza are all becoming too few and far between in the Dallas area. This place does it and does it well! They have several lunch specials that are pretty reasonable. I got the lunch special that has two slices of one topping pizza and a drink. I ordered two slices of hamburger pizza. The slices were huge and I could barely eat both of them. But most of all they were delicious. A true New York style complete with a brick oven cooking that gives the nice flavor. I have not heard a famous Joe's before but I'm glad I stumbled upon them and I will definitely be back!

Sooo, I visit here quite often, the man Rick, that left such a rude, unnecessary comment, is upset and trying to make this restaurant look bad... but let me tell you, its not. Sorry Rick, but Joe's a really cool guy, I think you should go during open hours and give them one more chance. It'll change your life! My coworkers and I drive for 20 mins during our lunch time to get here, because the food is amazing and the staff is great! They're hard working, Joe is shouting out orders in his New Yorker accent (we love this, Joe!), they make the pizza right before your eyes and that place is always packed. Every time I walk in, I feel like I've traveled to a NewYork pizzeria and that's freaking awesome! This is MY, little New York. In my opinion, Famous Joe's have the best cheese pizza, the pizza crust is my fav part... lol don't tell the crust haters. They also make this AMAZING pasta, the Arrabbiata Pasta, it's perfect, creamy and a little spicy... holy smokes, it's the best! Also, they have a never ending menu and so many more options. With that said, Thank you Joe, and your entire family/staff for the delicious food you make and for the good service! We, real Famous Joe's customers, appreciate you!

Honestly this is the best pizza I've had or found in my 10 years in DFW... and I'm a pizza snob. Go - you won't regret it.

I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. I can't put my finger on it. It's "clique-y". Every time I come, I walk into an empty restaurant with no host. And it seems I've walked in before they opened. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels!

The owner of the restaurant took our order and offered good suggestions. He raved about their Tiramisu and we wanted to try if for dessert. The starters we tried were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta bowls come with breadsticks and is perfect for one. The bowls are not shareable but the flavors were excellent. Do try the tiramisu for dessert. It is highly recommended. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. The restaurant offers beer, wines and cocktails with a full bar service. Pricing: Not an inexpensive restaurant but it's worth the money you pay. Henry checked on us often, was super patient, and just genuinely kind. Bernie kept our water full and was always nearby making sure we were good without hovering. They made the whole night feel easy and fun. The food was just as good. We started with the mushroom fondue, creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The bread was perfect, crispy and thin but still sturdy enough to scoop everything up without falling apart. We also split one of the toast boards and loved it. Great mix of flavors and just a really fun thing to share. They're also known for some really good favorites like the burrata toast, steak frites, truffle fries, and their charcuterie boards. Their brunch gets a lot of hype too, especially the French toast and eggs Benedict. And their seasonal cocktails are always a hit, really creative and well balanced. Bathrooms were clean, always a plus. Only tiny note, I wish there were more purse or coat hooks, every place needs those. Overall, we had such a great time. The service really stood out and the food totally delivered. Definitely one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit.

I recently ordered a pizza from here through DoorDash for the law firm I am employed in -- and mind you, I had mildly high expectations about this pizzeria as a first time customer, so of course I had the impression that the attorneys would enjoy it. There had been a large event taking place in the office, many important figures are showing up, but when it came to receiving and indulging in the pizza, turns out the pizza was ice cold. The attorneys were incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied let alone disgusted by the cold pizza. Not only does that look bad on me, but it makes this pizzeria look worse. What takes the cake is the complete lack of professionalism from the manager. I had called to make a complaint to which I was met with the manager telling me "I only make the pizza. if you have a problem with the pizza, call DoorDash", then hung up on me. So, I will say it again. If you're looking to get cold pizza, ruined expectations and equally horrible customer service. This is the right place.
