So I haven't been to this place since it opened a few yrs back. Burgers were good then. Decided I wanted to come because my getupside app gave 6% back on my meal purchase. Came in and looked at the menu. Everything looked good but settled on the Works Burger no grill jalapeños with sweet tater fries. I'm not a fan of jalapeños. There was really no one here, and the service was quick. The only gripe I had about the burger was that it was a little too well done. Like my burger moist, this one was a little dry, but the flavor was pretty good and liked the bacon and grilled onions. The sweet tater fries were great! Burger 6 outa 10 only cause it was a little dry Sweet tater fried 6 outa 10 nice and crunchy Service 8 outa 10 no issues and register guy/bartender was friendly. More than likely I'll be back. The price tag was a little steep $18.18 for a burger fries and 2 dollar tip with a water, but again I used my getupside app for the money back. We came here today looking for a good greasy burger post-Saturday night overindulgence. The atmosphere and the service were good, but to be honest, the sides were better than the burgers. The regular fries were well cooked and came out straight from the fryer. The onion rings were very peppery and the batter was delicious. The batter didn't stay on easily, but it was well worth the struggle. The spicy curly fries were perfectly cooked, and also came out piping hot. All in all, a decent experience, but not one to run back to. It is nice, however, that they have good bar and a great atmosphere, both of which are very rare in Coppell. read more

Before arriving at the restaurant, I noticed the online menu did not have a cheeseburger. I was prepared to customize the JC's Classic by adding cheese. Fortunately, I noticed the signage for the Killer Burger, a triple-cheese bacon burger with their special sauce. When I also ordered the Nutella shake, she had to check with the kitchen first. So, I did not expect problems with my order. After a significant wait, I wondered if my shake would be delivered with my food. Just then, another employee notified me their milkshake machine was out of order. The news surprised me because the other employee had checked with the kitchen. Since I had no drink, I went back to get a refund and order a soda. After a short wait, the same employee who took my order returned to the register. She told me my credit card was not required, so I will see if a refund eventually appears on my statement. The Killer Burger was decent but also messy. Although I enjoyed the blend of the Swiss, American and Pepper Jack, the sauce hid their taste. The bacon strips would definitely please those who prefer theirs very crispy. I was absolutely craving a great burger and shake for lunch and didn't want to drive too far. So I pull out the Yelp, pointed to Coppell and JC's popped up. Then jumped in the car and off I went! It was pretty easy to find in Coppell. I wasn't crowded and was early in the lunch period (around 11:20 am) I had already looked at the menu and ordered the Classic Burger w/ American cheese, fries and a chocolate shake. Paid by card (appreciated the clean pen/dirty pen process for COVID safety). Then I played Yelper and looked about the place as I waited on my order. They have a nice patio, a game room, a giant dinosaur, and LOTS of Big Screens on the walls. Tables of varying heights, a bar and lots of booths. The Bar serves adult beverages and with the near by booths, looks like a great place for an after work get together (when COVID is not an issue). The Game room looked like something kids to young adults would enjoy. My order, hmmmm. Not a big crowd, so all should be great, right? The hot food (burger and fries) came out but shake wasn't made. The counter person dumped in the shake base into the machine and was unsure how to make a shake. 3.5 minutes later, the woman in back made a chocolate shake. It was more of cold chocolate milk. The Hershey Chocolate syrup she put in was a little too much. The burger and fries were well packed. The burger was quite good and the lettuce, tomato and pickles were of good quality. The bun was fantastic! The fries were not that great. Thus 1/3 of the order was really good, 1/3 (fries) were okay and 1/3, the shake was terrible. 2 Stars may be generous. read more

Everyone deserves redemption and JC's Burger Bar is no different. Maybe they were having a bad day last time. Maybe I was having a bad day last time. The world will never know. But I digress... Came in a few weeks ago (sorry for the delayed review) and was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. Always a sucker for a good Patty Melt, I ordered one, with fries, and proceeded to pay and sit down. Here's the thing with Patty Melts that so many places mess up: the bread. If it ain't rye, it's a lie. Rye bread makes all the difference. Additionally, I can't stand when I get a Melt and the grease is soaking through the bread. So gross. This Patty Melt was perfect - rye bread toasted, perfect amount of cheese and burger - nothing sloppy. Fries were crispy. Add a little mustard and chef's kiss. I even considered ordering a second burger. But alas, the m a big(ger) guy and I'm trying not to be. So for now, I'll have dreams of Patty Melts from JC's. Until we meet again. read more

Add some TVs, great service, and you have a winning combination....on paper. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located in a strip mall in Coppell, JC's is nice, open and clean. It's counter service, so you order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your order. Bonus - this location has a full bar with plenty of TVs. If JC's is trying to create an atmosphere for game day, they have succeeded. 1 Star. Service - Fantastic people here. We had a large group and even though it is counter service the staff checked on us & even refilled our drinks and beers. 1 Star. Food - I wanted to love the burgers here, but unfortunately, I only sort of liked it. I ordered the Nooner & The Works in slider form. Maybe I should have ordered the normal size burger because the patty was very thin & dry. The Nooner had a fried egg which helped give the patty some much needed moisture but both sliders were a letdown. Also, the buns for the sliders reminded me of dinner roll buns. Great at Thanksgiving but the yeast rolls weren't my taste. I've been to this location many times for the bar atmosphere, but this was the first time I've brought coworkers for lunch. All three of us were happy with our orders. Salad was good sized and salmon portion on top generous. Onion rings are hand dipped and always a winner here. Both burgers were cooked the way they asked and sweet potato fries cooked to a perfect crunch. Coworkers asked why I hadn't brought them here before and asked for it to be added to our lunch rotation of places to eat. It's a nice atmosphere, clean and a top notch staff. Ordered the works burger, fries and drank water all for around 15 bucks. You would think you would get a ton of fries for the $3.50 price and a half pound burger piled with grilled jalepenos, onions cheese and mushrooms. Not so much. What you got was an overcooked and dry quarter pound patty with a sparse helping of the aforementioned ingredients and one slice of cheese. This place fancies their burgers by the names given to each and the price, but I honestly would have had a much better meal with a decent price at Wendys or Braums. There are just way too many burger options in the Coppell area to have to pay 12 bucks for a subpar burger and 3.50 for frozen fries and then go home feeling hungry. Avoid this place and cook out on the grill or go to Sonic. read more

The place is a very lively and energetic place to get a burger if you are in the mood for something a bit more exciting than the run of the mill burger joint. The interior is new and clean. There are plenty of seating options including booths, large tables and outdoor seating. There is a bar on one side and a few games in the back. You walk in and order at the counter then seat yourself. The food is delivered to your table. The drinks are self serve and include the typical sodas and iced tea. FYI you need to get cup tops from the cashier, not at the drink area, as I eventually found out. There is a complimentary ice cream machine . The menu has a lot of variety including beef burgers, turkey, chicken, salads, tacos, and the usual sides. The beef burger was Ok. It was overcooked a bit and lacked seasoning, in my opinion. I selected grilled onions and grilled jalapeno for an upcharge but there were hardly any on the burger. The turkey burger was better but be aware that it is different than the typical turkey patty : it seems fresh ground and has a good amount of seasoning. If you want a more clean taste then go for the grilled chicken. I've known about JC's Burger Bar in Coppell for a while, but hadn't gotten over that way to give it a try. I finally made time to try it out and wasn't disappointed, but I was surprised at how much more they had to offer than the typical burger joint. The menu offers a variety of specialty burgers (including a gluten free bun option!) as well as appetizers, chicken sandwiches, soups, salads, tacos and shakes, so there's likely something for everyone. The restaurant is larger than most burger joints, including a number of outdoor tables, a bar area and multiple televisions to watch the game. There's also free self-serve soft-serve as well as a small arcade in a separate room in the back. If you're looking for something new and have little ones, don't let the bar scare you off, as it's definitely more a restaurant vibe than bar. On this occasion, I had the opportunity to sample the Jalapeno Sausage & Cheddar Burger and the BBQ Bacon Burger. We also opted for the onion rings. Their burger is a single patty - probably 1/4 pound with good flavor, that you can tell is fresh-cooked, and the bun and toppings are all good. While soft, the bun didn't fall apart, which I appreciate. Although the burgers were good, what really won me over were the Onion Rings! Crisp, not chewy, and a crunchy, peppery, well-seasoned breading. These are probably my favorite onion rings that I've had in the entire Metroplex. I may be back just for a plate of onion rings and a beer - be a good gameday snack! There are also so many other items on the menu - including some pretty good-sounding shakes! - that I'll have to make my way back sometimes soon. I ate here twice last week. I really like this place and it is so close to home that I will continue to eat here. Everything they are doing they are doing well. The brioche bun is great. Toppings are fresh. Sides are good. Free ice cream! But the burger....is a little dry / over cooked. It's a good party. It has great flavor. It just needs to come off the grill sooner. I ate a regular one day. The second time I downed the Toddzilla (3) 1/2 pound patties. I asked for it to be cooked medium. It was still well done. Guys - you got a winner here. It's a great place. I might have given these guys 5 stars, and if it were just about the burger , I would indeed. Damn, that was a good burger, actually, a great burger. The fries just didn't do it for me and since they are part of the experience, and you can't do 4 1/2 stars, then I had go with 4. Back to that burger though. I tried the Ultimate Turkey Burger with curly fries and tater tots on the side. Ordered about 15 minutes before I pulled up to the restaurant and the food was ready to go! Tater tots were nice and crispy and the curly fries were well-seasoned. The burger tasted pretty good too! The wheat bun had a unique flavor and added a fluffiness to it that made the burger top notch. If you want to elevate your dining experience, I would recommend getting some of the JC Killer sauce on the side. The food is something you should try out for sure :) The restaurant looked a bit too packed for Covid times. I didn't really see much social distancing since the tables were pretty close together. Seemed like there were games/activities taking place with the hosts not wearing masks and standing really close to each other which I found quite concerning.
