A very tasty burger but the bun to meat ratio is a bit off. Buns are big. Needs to be just a tad beefier to match.

Our burgers didn't look like the pics I see in the customer pics on Yelp.. We paid $15 each for a burger and fries (no drink). The bun was a plain white bun out of a bag and cold (not toasted like the pics), the meat was cut from a ground beef tube, and the "swiss" was some icky processed stuff. For that price, I expect real cheese. The sweet potato fries were weird and terribly over seasoned, as with the "spicy" curly fries (not spicy, just overseasoned). We were in the area and looked up "good burger". JC came up and it is located next to Tom Thumb. The place is cute and quaint. I loved that it had several TV to watch the college games. We ordered in front and there were several good items on the menu. My husband ordered the burger and I ordered sliders. The meat was cooked to perfection. Finally got around to trying JC's Burger Bar the other day. Both the interior and exterior were almost immaculate, and built very much like SmashBurger. One of my usual burger places in Coppell, Mooyah, is now permanently closed. As a result, I was trying to add a place or two to fill the void. The menu here is pretty diverse, with burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, salads, and a decent grouping of sides. I tried the works, with both fries and their hand battered onion rings. The burger itself was a bit overcooked for my tastes, and I don't believe they asked how I wanted it cooked. However, if the mince is of any quality, I like there to be at least a bit of pink in the center. This patty was a definitive medium well to well done. You can certainly tell that they do in fact batter their onion rings on site, and they taste accordingly. Toppings were reasonably fresh, but it didn't seem as if they were particularly generous with them. While the gratis soft serve might be a gimmick, it's certainly one I approve of. It reminds me of Jason's Deli, but with burgers. Of course soft serve isn't just for kids, I think the vast majority of people appreciate it. The prices are in line with Mooyah, though Mooyah let you do either 1/4lb or 1/2lb patties, where JC's only does 1/2lb. While this isn't problematic for me, I can see that it could be for those with a svelte physique. Overall it's a good place to grab lunch, but there is room for improvement, and I also don't think their cooking process is distinctive enough to set them apart from the deluge of other burger forward restaurants. While there was nothing wrong with the beef, it's simply ground chuck. Adding two more cuts to the mix could really work wonders for it. read more

The burger was okay. It took a long time for my food to come even though it was pretty empty, I ordered through Grubhub. They put way too much condiments on my burger. Cheese is $1 extra and so is bacon but you barely see any. The patty taste like it had some type of mexican seasoning on it. Wow! (Not a good wow) we were sooo looking forward to trying this place - not so much now. The line was incredibly long due to only one cashier. The cashier told us they didn't want to open another register and overwhelm the kitchen. Ok - at this point we are still ok. My daughter and her friend got milkshakes and hubs and I got beer. Milkshakes were good, as was the beer. The wait was incredibly long! The food looked good as it was coming out so we were very excited. When we finally received our food - it was cold. The buns on all 4 burgers were cold - the burgers were "warm" - our tater tots were stale and fries were cold - the onion rings were the only things that were hot and tasty. This was sooo disappointing! My husband did send back his "cold bun and warm burger" and it came back "warm bun and cold burger" - so the rest of us decided we'd rather have warm burger and cold buns. I really wanted to like this place as the burgers are hand made and looked delicious! For $72 it was not worth it at all. Unless they get a better system in place - I would pass this up. I think this place is just ok. I wasn't impressed with the burgers. Mine was really over cooked and seemed plain. The fries are really good but definitely not the best burger around. My kids love that they have games available to play at your table and arcade games as well. The staff is young at this location and not overly attentive or friendly. The Juarez burger that I had was very good. I asked for medium rare was cooking to my liking and the beef was fresh. The toppings of guacamole and jalapeños and onions were very good as was the bun. We also ordered tots which ordinary and onions rings which came out cold. We sent the rings back and finished our meals and had to ask where they were. We read the reviews and decide to stop in. Well for me the place is very over rated. I ordered the JC burger with mayo and mustard. It arrived as a cold to the touch bun and the burger being the same temp. I also ordered the onion rings and received a Grand Total of 6. The latest, after 25 minutes waiting for my black bean burger (that I order every time) something very meat like came out. Not black bean burger. Guess I have to find another place for veggie burgers. Not worth the wait and errors. Tome before last asked for gluten free bun to please be heated because it always comes out stone cold. I became familiar with this restaurant because of AAdvantage Miles. It opened like two years ago? Loved the food. Loved the comfort/environment. I guess I took a break for whatever reason (trying other new restaurants). Upon returning, and I've been back 4-5 times in the last couple of months. The food is still delicious and the environment is comfortable. BUT... the size of their portions has decreased. The sliders were obviously small, but they've become "three-biters". I got the Boss Chicken sandwich this week and the big gooey delicious sandwich was noticeably smaller. And it's not like the prices have decreased. So, what was once an excellent $10 lunch, will now be $15+ for the same amount of food. read more

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of JCs burger bar!! The burgers are huge and delicious, and although sometimes the size and quality of the burger vary from visit to visit, we never have a complaint. Their fries are puffy and crunchy and the stuff of dreams! They are so kind and provide ranch for me on the side since I can't have ketchup with my fries. The ambiance is fine, it's definitely catered to a younger crowd with all of the games and arcade in the back. The workers vary and tend to be on the younger side but we have had nothing but excellent service. The only downside is sometimes it can be loud or you can have an odd experience trying to eat from teenagers choosing this as their hangout spot but that comes with the age. The only complaint is sometimes there can be a bit of stickiness or mess from a lack of staff and a lunch rush. Overall, we are huge fans of this place and it is our favorite burger place in the metroplex! read more

For a place that's main attraction is burgers, this is the worst one I've ever had. It's beyond well done and dry. The chips are straight from the grocery store, along with the pace picante sauce they are served with. The kid's meal chicken strips are flat and thin with excess batter to cover up the lack of chicken. The lemonade tasted like water. The time it takes to get the food is also, ridiculous. Before leaving I told the manager and got the customary, "oh, I'm so sorry" No solution of any kind was offer despite leaving our meals at the table and me saying to my child, let's go get you something to eat...in front of him! I REALLY wanted to like this place. I ordered the BLT egg & cheese sandwich and asked for onions to be added to it. When I picked my order up, they gave me the Nooner burger instead. I went in to explain nicely that this is not what I ordered and was told that the BLT and the nooner burger are the same. So I showed my phone to explain how on the menu that they were 2 completely different items and even different prices. I also explained that I do not eat beef so I could not eat that burger. She put in a custom order of the Texas toast with fried egg, BLT, and the raw onions that I wanted added on (they have options of raw or grilled onions.) I got my order and sat in my car and take a bite of my new sandwich and this is what I got. What a JOKE of a sandwich. There was no BLT and grilled onions instead of raw onions that I wanted.
