Visiting the Dallas area and wanted a body wave perm and trim haircut on my short (collar length) hair. I've had the same done at JCP in Austin and was very satisfied. So I made an appointment at the Fairview, TX location with Tina, whose bio on JCP website, says she's been a stylist for 20+ years. There was only one other customer in the shop while I was there and Tina was working on both of us (no complaint about that at all) After the perm was done, she dried my hair and THEN cut it. Never have I had a dry-cut. She cut in what I can only call a frenzy, with dry hair flying everywhere. When she was done, she asked me to check it and I could see the sides were different lengths, as was the back. She dry-cut to 'fix it', and had to do take several attempts to even everything up, but I still came away with one side shorter than the others over my ears. She was nice enough, but seemed to rush through everything. And I don't think she left the neutralizer on long enough or it was a bad brand of perm because now that I'm home, it hardly looks/feels like I had a perm. I would never go back to her and would caution anyone who likes their hair evenly cut, to reconsider it. I should say, I've had many MANY perms over the last 40 years and I know what it should look like and feel like, and this isn't it. I feel like I just flushed $135 and half of my hair down the drain. Horrible jewelry department- ordered a ring that had to be resized and was supposed to have heard from them within 6 weeks. I called them multiple times last week and at least 10 times today with 0 response. It seems like they don't know how to pick up the phone so I have to go back just for an update on my ring. I ordered 4 curtain panels for pick up but only received 3. I didn't notice I was missing one panel until I got home. I've tried multiple times to phone the store but cannot reach anyone. Either no answer or my call is disconnected. Calling customer service is useless. They don't care and only refer you to the store. I'm completely exasperated. I assume I will have to go physically into the store to resolve the missing curtain panel. Beyond frustrated. To JC Penney - Here is my order number . 2024-0326-1589-3960. Be very careful. Especially with sales. I was in this store yesterday November 25,2022. Black Friday. I found Men's lounge pants with a sign that said 9.99. I bought 15 pair. Along with other purchases , got to checkout area Lounge pants rang at 11.99. I told her they were 9.99 according to sign. We had a picture, cashier looked at picture and said that is for the pants that are 20.00. the 24.00 dollar ones are 11.99. I said there are no pants on that rack for 20.00 only 24.00 ones. So why is the 9.99 price even there. Refused to give them for the 9.99 price on the sign. So be careful shopping J.C. Penny Typical bait and switch in my opinion. I have shopped J.C. It is rare that I write a negative review about someone in customer service because I am in this area myself, but when an experience is so bad and completely avoidable, this experience needed to be addressed. I rarely shop at JCPenney just because its not the first store that comes to mind. I was in a bind and needed a shirt for work or else I would not be able to work, After a 30-minute walk in the extreme heat I found a JCPenney. I was not trying to spend too much so the only possible place to find something low priced for me is in the clearance section. I asked one of the workers there where the section was and they pointed me in that direction of course with my luck there was no plain black shirts in my size so I went and asked the associate in that area if you had any ideas and he advised me that St Johns Bay may have what I'm looking for. While making my way to that section. I was confronted by an employee who I assumed was a manager. In a condescending unfriendly rude tone, she accused me of knocking down signs in the store I was too busy trying to find a shirt and get back to work to knock down signs, not that I ever would even if I had time. I advised her I didn't do anything of the sorts which in the same tone treating e like some kind of criminal asked me what I needed but the entire time she was supposedly helping me she hovered right next to me the entire time I was shopping, almost like you would a child who is acting up almost rushing me and hinting she wanted me out asap I asked her why she was being this way to me when I had done nothing wrong, which she informs me that it was on camera. I politely asked to see the video to clear things up which she rudely denied me. Once a shirt was located, she as she had done the entire visit through the store almost pushing me towards the register. After that I knew I needed her name which was my right as a customer so I asked, and she would not give it to me. She even went as far as denying me her name and then rudely demanding me to get out of the store I finally paid for the shirt and tried once again to get her name, which she then threatened to call security on me which I told her to do because I was doing nothing wrong. Before things could get any worst one of her coworkers finally blurted out the name Monica which at that point was all I had asked for. What was the worst thing about this experience is that I am a nice, do not like to bother kind of guy so for her to act and treat me the way she did it felt as I was being profiled, which is a feeling no one should ever have to feel. read more

The photo studio takes appointments on the 15 minute incriment, yet the appointments take 30-45 minutes. Then they have a waiting room full of angry families, because they were running about 45 minutes behind schedule. There is no air conditining and a room full of angry people. It was the third circle of hell is JCPenny Fairview Portrait studio. If you have to use this facility DO NOT go on the weekends where triple book the time slots. read more

This is 1 of the better JCP's I've been to. Usually, clothes are everywhere, it smells of urine, and the staff couldn't care less about anything, but not here! I was pleased to see that they had a decent selection of clothes and other items, all well-stocked and neatly folded. The store was very clean and well-kept, with the exception of the changing room bench which looked like it would fall off at any moment. And the staff went out of their way to say hello and make sure you found whatever you were looking for. Overall, I'd come back to here over going to any mall-based location. read more

i have always preferred Macy's over JCPenney. And, quite frankly, i am not much of a department store kind of girl....except for Nieman Marcus and Nordstrom (two of my fave places to spend time and money.) Anyway, this is a new JCP in my 'hood. This location has got to be the most upscale, nice, beautiful JCPenney location I've seen. I'm sure the fact that it's only a few months old has something to do with it, but still. I had dropped in to look at curtains and window coverings, and oh, my, do they have a great display area for these. I also browsed the kitchen area; they had some very nice place settings as well as a small but plentiful kitchen gadget display. I didn't really shop any other areas, but I did visit the restrooms; the men's room was spacious and clean, always a plus. I must also say that I had the help of a wonderful associate in the window covering department; she worked with me for at least a half an hour, answering dumb questions and dispensing fashion advice to the sorely fashion impaired (me). A close friend recommended the salon at JCPenney in Fairview. Upon arriving, Theresa Flores warmly welcomed me as she took me to her chair. She knew exactly how much to cut: Two inches. When JC Penney started tanking a couple of years ago with their no-coupons-always-a-low-price schtick, and then their special designer clothing lines, I stopped going. They weren't marketing towards me anymore, I just wanted nice, normal clothes at a decent price. It actually took me a while to even go back to them since they had strayed so far from who they used to be, but it seems like they're finally returning. I went shopping with the husband for new work clothes and was shocked to see the return of nice looking clothes for great prices. We loaded up on shirts and pants for less than $100, and now that we know they're back to normal we'll definitely be back. We have also received stellar customer service each time we've gone, and everyone seems very excited to work here, which is always a good sign. read more

I want so much to see improvement because we really need JCP to be their best in this competitive world! I ordered online several times and always opt to have store delivery service. Each time I went inside, never a long line. I would get my package (with missing items) told not to open at counter I would open in my car. I had to walk back in. They would act as if "are you returning the item." I had to explain. They would work their best to find what happened but most times it was them not being thorough. Manager showed them the correct key to push to make sure customer receives all items. Each time I went there this played out. JCP imagine how it looks to a returning customer. Each time? I tried opening up package at the counter to save time but was told not to. I'm patient. Train away... however I get plenty exercise shopping there lol please do your customers a favor, learn the keys. What is simple looks very bad on the receiving end. This rating is for the Sephora inside JcPenney. I had such a great experience with the staff here. It is hard to find a good foundation that matches perfect with my skin tone. Brittany was the sales associate that helped me. She started off by using a special machine that shade matches my skin tone and it recommends different brands that matches my color. We tried multiple ones and I finally decided to go with the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. It had excellent coverage! Brittney was very patient with me because I tried at least 4 different brands before I decided to go with the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. She also was able to recommend the SEPHORA COLLECTION Perfecting Ultra-Smoothing Primer. It makes the KVD Foundation go on super smooth and makes it last longer! I appreciate all the help from Brittney and am looking forward to shop at this Sephora location more!! read more

Went here for my 1 yr olds photo shoot because my 1st son it was only $100 and we got so many good pictures well I come here with my 2nd boy and they charged me almost $200 when we got only a FEW good pictures since he just wasn't having it that day...so much money wasted. Definitely wasn't a good shoot, I was expecting she'd bring up a discount or something since we had a hard time with him and barely got any good ones. 3 stars on there selection of shorts alone. Love the variety and they have them at just the right length. Caught a great sale over the weekend and ended up returning 2 pairs of shorts I previously bought from Perry Ellis just an hour or so before. Saved myself $20. Good customer service too. Excellent customer service! I was originally going to Macy's but they closed early on Sunday so I headed over to JCP instead. The Sephora section is super nice, and I found a nice pair of size 1 jeans over in the clearance racks! I usually only see large sizes left! The girls in the fitting room were extremely friendly and offered advice on buying jeans, and the checkouts were open a little bit after the store 'closed' so that everyone could finish up with their purchases. read more

JCP is the best kept great deal shopping secret! Sure, they are about to go out of business as their stocks fall daily but that's the great thing! You get the best prices! Their quality definitely is nothing to rival, but their clothes will last a season or two. I've had to hem the bottom of my pants because they have come undone but I can't complain because I bought work capris for $15. I am constantly getting compliments on the dresses I buy here. I love the clearance items, and not to mention they have 25% off weekends so you can get some amazing deals on cute dresses! Don't forget to sign up for their rewards! Walked up as a walk in. Asked for a hair cut. Waited 20 minutes for the front reception to walk around and ask every "stylist" if they had an available slot. One woman had one at 4:30. It was 4. She rejected me to sit around on her butt- I'm no physicist but if her appointment didn't show- then what's the procedure? I've been to the salon later in the evening before and it was quite pleasant. But I will NOT return here ever again. The "stylists" were speaking very loudly when referring to me. "I can't cut his hair right now tell him to go". Very rude. Unprofessional. And because of this negligence I will not return. read more

I discovered this JCP while shopping across the street at the Allen Outlet. The store appears new-ish and has a decent selection of items. I recently called while out shopping for a beach hat and wanted to know if they had anymore before driving there. The lady that answered for the jewelry department had someone check and report back that only three beach hats were left in stock (not a surprise since it's September). When I asked for a description, she was able to provide that so I could make the decision whether I wanted to take my time coming to look at them. I quickly found the three straw beach hats they had available. The one I selected had no tag on it. The lady at the counter up front walked back and chose a similar hat with a tag. I didn't like this because if I change my mind, find another hat, or don't use it and need to return, then the correct item isn't on the receipt. Anyway, the hat ended up being marked down 50%, so I bought it and was ultimately happy with my purchase. read more

SALON REVIEW I went to the instyle salon at the Fairview, tx location yesterday to get my hair color corrected. I had lots of red in my hair after attempting to bleach. I came in and the stylist said she didn't want to add more bleach to my hair since I just had done it. I said "well I'm here to fix the red tones, is there any way you can use a toner on it" she walked away to get the mix ready. It wasn't until after she took the foils out and was rinsing my hair when I realized she had in fact used more bleach on my hair. I assume she went ahead and used bleach cause if she couldn't fix the tones I was not going to continue with getting it done. I knew my hair was damaged when I came in, I did not consent to this. After leaving I ended up with more bleach, more damage, more red, more orange in my hair than what I had come in with. She told me it would take two hours, when it had taken almost three and I had somewhere to be so I skipped out on the trim. I told her it still looked like there was a lot of red and she said "it will look better and blend great once it dries" it did not. I called and complained to the store manager Gwen Dawson because the salon does not have a salon manager at the moment, I even emailed her pictures. Gwen called me back and said that she has several witnesses saying I was demanding bleach, when this was in fact not the case. I mean I could have screwed my hair up further myself with a $10 box of bleach instead of paying $130. Of course her coworkers stood behind her when questioned, who wouldn't when you have to work next to her every day. The manager Gwen was completely rude, didn't believe a word I was saying and hung up on me. I'm completely appalled by the hair dresser, by the manager and them saying they would not refund my money because I had told them I wanted more bleach and cause I didn't get a trim. What kind of nonsense is this?! I am in complete shock by how I was just treated on the phone. Stylist employee number is 0945 Adding before and after pictures. read more

This review is for the SALON inside JCPenney in Fairview, TX. I love this salon and my stylist, Shannon. I have been her client for many years, with appointments consistently every 6 weeks. She colors, highlights, cuts, styles (even major style changes/makeovers )...you name...and it ALWAYS turns out beautiful!!! Shannon is professional, listens to her clients wants/needs, and truly cares about making me look amazing. I have people stop me and say how great my hair looks all the time. I have never had to go back for a "fix" and I can not say enough good things about her skills. She is a Master Stylist for a reason, possessing 20+ years experience, and well-deserved. Do not lose your receipt and pay cash because they will rip you off. I bought shoes for my niece ( her mom is in the hospital) and they don't fit right so I went to return them. My niece lost the receipt so I thought I would get store credit. If you have no receipt then they will Only return the LOWEST sale price during the last 45 days! I lost over 20$ because I paid cash. They said if I would've paid with credit card it would be NO problem!!! FURIOUS!! I was told by the manager that it was because they couldn't be sure I'd actually paid for the merchandise!!! Probably the nicest looking JCP I have been in, and i can see it doing well in this area based on demographics. That being said, I walked out empty-handed. Even their fake sale prices are ridiculously high. The non-clothes are embarrassingly overpriced. I'll stick with the discount racks at Kohl's for clothes and stores that actually make an effort to be competitive on other stuff. read more

JC Penney Fairview Salon, you have a GEM!!! Got my haircut by Alexandra (from NY) and my hair is absolutely fabulous! She is not "scissor happy" which I love! She takes her time to understand what it is you actually want AND makes hair care product suggestions and is very knowledgeable!! If you are going to get your hair done ask for her, you will not be disappointed. She can do any texture of hair but she especially knew what to do for mine (black hair/ coarse/ curly...lol) and I am very pleased! My mind is pretty much made up, she is my new #gotogirl for hair! This is my favorite JCP by far although I love most JCPs can't beat their prices The employees actually greet your throughout the store and ask if you need anything. I go to the In Style Salon and love all the girls. All the stylists are professional and courteous. My stylist is Kuno who does my hair and my daughters and does an awesome job every time. I'm only reviewing my hair salon experience. I have tried the salon twice before and was pretty satisfied. However, I've had to use a different person each time and now on my third visit today they sent me to someone else who happened to be double booked. That explained why I received rude service as I checked in -- the lady that checked me just realized SHE was double booked and I was her next client. About 10 minutes later she comes out to explain that she was indeed double booked and couldn't get to me for another 45 minutes. This was now putting me into late in the evening as I was there for a cut and color -- a longer process. Needless to say I left without a cut or color and am now searching for a different salon to use. Will not return. read more

I've been here for half an hour and haven't even been acknowledged until I asked for help, and then she didn't even look at me. Just told me to hang on. She's been standing and talking to the same girl about their lives (unrelated to makeup) but completely ignoring every customer in here. Whenever I visit them, I always make an appointment with Tutu to get my hair relaxed and cut. I haven't found anybody else who does as good a job as her, let alone at the price. read more
