I haven't altar'd my opinion of this place, so I'm gonna state it now, for the record. At the outdoor mall up in Allen known as Watters Creek is this Christian Store, with a lot of cool stuff in it that is aimed at teenagers and 20-somethings. But I do like some of the stuff in here, so we had a good time browsing around - and the employees are really nice... but definitely a Christian theme which isn't really up our alley as you can imagine. read more

Wow,wow,wow!!!! What an experience!!! Sydney you are a GEM!!!!! I was on the hunt for a family picture dress for me, knowingly I had to blend it with the toddler and husbands outfit! My husband works nights so I was with the toddler trying to shop, lol! I actually called ahead and told her what I was looking for! She pulled 8 outfits and had everything ready when I got there!!! I could cry writing this! I had the most A M A Z I N G experience at Altar'd State this past Friday, Oct 25 2019 with Mrs. Shareece and Mrs. DeAnna! I was shopping for save the dates photos -- needing shoes/jewelry and they took on my task as soon as they opened 10:01am to be exact! From asking about my story/shoot -- they matched my buys not only with the moment but my personality and story! I felt valued, worthy, and loved!!! I even asked for a job application just to share with sweet people that would match their aura! The jewelry and shoes were expensive (for my college budget) but I'd pay for irreplaceable experiences any day! If they could accept tips -- I'd tip them both extremely!!!! If you ever read this, thank you both for your matchless customer service! I went home to share with my fiancé about the two of you... and I'll share with anyone about this store!!!! I'll definitely be back for EVERY occasion - not just for me but everyone I buy for!!! read more

Let's start with the good- this place always smells FANTASTIC! I love the music and I love the clothes. Now to my return experience. I wanted to return a blouse that I got a little over a week ago. In the altard state bag- I had the blouse, tags, and receipt. She takes everything out, looks at the shirt and then say "okay just to let you know we typically don't give refunds for clothes that don't have the tags ATTACHED- because we don't know if you have worn them or not." The reason I'm giving 2 stars and writing this review : 1- I made it all the way to the counter before I saw any employees that worked there. 2- both employees were behind the counter, when customers in the store, doing something on the computer. 3- the counter was a MESS, clothes and hangers were all over it (mind you this is Saturday) 4- the tone in which the employee spoke to me was dismissive, like she didn't have to do me the favor of refunding my money. ( for review purposes- the shirt still smelled like the store... that alone should have clued the employee into the fact I did not wear it) 5- the employee didn't ask why I wanted to return the blouse. All of these things add up to a really lack luster experience. read more

Spent a good 30 minutes sitting and waiting outside of this store because apparently men aren't welcome to wait for their women in the lobby connected to the dressing rooms. If this has anything to do with modesty and stereotyping men as perverts, why do they sell the clothes they do? Not coming back. read more

i usually enjoy shopping here, super cute clothes, although the prices are outrageous besides clearance items. As i walked in, i was not greeted or even looked at. As i was shopping, a few workers would walk by me and make eye contact with me and not say a word. the entire time i was there i was not spoken to nor offered help whatsoever. And it was very slow, hardly any guests in the store so it's not like they were too busy to speak to me. As i walked out of the store nothing was said to me either. i pretty much shopped on my own for 10 minutes and left. Also might i add -- none of the employees had masks. i did the all the guests shopping had masks on but it's sad when the store employees don't even wear masks when most businesses still require employees to wear them. i did not feel safe shopping there and i did not feel welcome. i won't return to this location anytime soon. if i could rate half a star i would. read more

I love this store and the location. The employees are so friendly and helpful. I always leave with more than I intended to find.

Although very pricey this is a really cute and trendy natural style store. I love the cute shirts that go well with jeans. It's really interesting how they put their signatures sent through the vents and makes the whole star smell really pretty. read more

This doesn't have really have anything to do with the clothes, but more of this store and a particular worker. Really nice styles, however left today empty-handed due to a bad experience from one of their clerks. 10 min into browsing one of their clerks came up to me and asked if I'd like a dressing room. I had absolutely nothing in my hands so I found it a bit odd, but I just told her "No it's fine, I haven't found anything yet." She then said " what about that grey dress?" Me: "What grey dress?" Her: "The one in your bag." Me: "What grey dress in my bag? Oh you mean MY jacket??" Her: "May you take it out so I can see?" (Me being super offended yet flustered took it out.) Her: "Oh, okay. Sorry." (walks away). Honestly I should've gotten that girl's name and reported her to her manager for profiling me. I don't know if it was my laid back outfit, or bc my bag seemed a bit huge because of my jacket, or if I was a different ethnicity, but unless she saw me take a dress and stuff it in my bag she had no right to tell me to take things out of my bag. But yeah, just be careful. They might profile you in this store. As for clothes it's okay. they're pretty pricey, but sometimes they have some really good deals. I was really close to buying some things until that girl came up to me. So too bad for this store in losing a sale due to bad hiring. read more

Wow! What an incredible deal! They had a sale going on, BOGO sale items. That wasn't the reason why I came to Watters Creek but it sure made my visit happy. I've been to this store and had never owned anything from it. The regular prices are pretty high and the style is close to Anthropologie. No offense to Anthro-lovers but their style is not my taste.. Anyways, I walked in hoping I can find something cool. I did a quick scan around the store and headed straight to the clearance section. My hands and eyes were ready to do their work, luckily I did find a couple of items. Tried them on and came out with two tops. One cost $9.88 and the other was marked $19.88, in my mind I was calculating two tops for 20 bucks.. alright taken! The lady ringed me up and she said my total was $10!!!! Yes that is correct ten bucks for two tops! With a big grin on my face I walked out happily with my two tops. Woo hoo I love bargain shopping! Enough of my shopping blog the store is next to DSW and across from Anthroplogie. It's a not a huge store and they don't sell men's clothing. Would I come back? umm maybe? Probably if they have the same awesome deal I might but on a regular basis..naw. My rating is for the deal so don't be upset if your visit wasn't great. This place has beautiful clothes and gorgeous accessories that I haven't seen anywhere else. On top of that they have amazing service. I visited this location to return a few dresses that I received as a Christmas gift. The sales lady who helped me found dresses in my size that I loved and even helped me find accessories that matched. She was so nice, helpful and not a bit pushy. I really can't to go back and find some more fun outfits!!! read more

Came in here looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and left with 2 dresses. I'd only shop here if a sale's going on (i.e. buy one dress get the 2nd 50% off) because prices are a bit steep for the quality of material. The styles range from vintage to modern day wear, much like Anthropologie or ModCloth, but may appeal to a younger audience since the cut of the dresses is a bit shorter (a plus for me since I'm half an inch shy of 5' 2''). In terms of quality, it would fall between Anthropologie and Forever 21 since the fabric doesn't seem that sturdy. This store earns an extra star for the philanthropy and general goodwill it propagates--a part of sales go to charitable organizations, and there's a prayer book in the fitting room where you can write your intentions. The styles are a bit off the beaten path, which is why I was drawn to this store, but some of the prices just don't seem justified. It's definitely got some interesting styles which aren't usually replicated in some mainstream department stores. read more

I love this store! I have fun browsing and also was able to find a dress that fit exactly what I was looking for. The price point is moderate on their dresses, about $50-$80, but the quality has proven to be good and they run sales fairly often. The store is well-kept and the atmosphere is amazing. The staff are very happy and helpful and cause you to leave feeling happy and well taken care of. I will continue shopping at this store for a very long time for dresses, accessories, and gifts for my friends. read more
