Brought my friends from Augusta here for dinner and EVERYTHING was AMAZING! The environment was fun, there was a gentleman in the corner playing live music. As soon as we came in someone greeted us and seated us at a round table. We literally order like 10 different dishes because they are smaller portions. They were pricy, but they were also delicious! It was a bit loud in there but we were still able to talk to each other without having to scream. The dishes were as delicious as the pictures I promise! I can't wait to go back!!! For my first time in Savannah we found this cute little spot below street level. We weren't planning on going but the couple coming up the stairs were raving about it and we had to try it. We got to the front desk, the waitress exhibited that "southern hospitality" you were expecting coming to Georgia. We were seated quickly. The waiters and waitresses were pleasant. It was so nice we did it twice! This restaurant is owner managed and boy are they sweet. We felt like family. The Asiago bread is to die for! Calamari great! The wings are AMAZING!!!!!!! Coming from Tampa and looking through all the reviews I was afraid this experience would be a hit or miss. IT WAS A HIT. Friday morning we called and made a reservation for 5 around 8:30 pm. When we arrived we were seated immediately. This place was POPPIN'. I mean packed with any kind of celebration you could imagine (bachelorette, birthday) and the live jazz music really made it lively. On their website you have to be 18+ to enter. They have live jazz music 6 nights a week. We sat a large and comfortable round booth and we had no problem hearing each other. It is a Tapas style restaurant but their small plates aren't so small and more like appetizers. Price for each plate ranges from $8-$15. We ordered pretty much everything to share. I'm not kidding. WORTH IT. I personally ordered a Caesar salad ($7) and the Chevre creole tomato dip ($9). Also ordered for the table was the she crab stew($8), blue cheese wedge salad ($9), baked cheese terra cotta plate ($14), bruschetta, chicken cheesesteak egg rolls ($9), BBQ beef brisket tacos ($12), Mediterranean lamb chops ($14), and the martinis marinated tenderloin tips ($14). Every item ordered was unique in flavor and executed well by the chefs. I mean seriously I enjoyed everything. Amazing. Came out piping hot and really hit the spot! The stars on the table (for me) were the terra cotta cheese plate, Mediterranean lamb chops, chèvre creole tomato dip, BBQ beef brisket tacos, chicken cheesesteak egg rolls, and the blue cheese wedge salad. I visited this bar with my wife and friend Saturday July 17th. I want to start off with the bad and bring up the good from my experience, which is why I gave it 5 stars. The young lady who was greeting people at the door didn't seem too nice, as well as she didn't make any mention of my jersey I wore. She was also pretty cut and dry about not holding a table if you weren't visible when your name was being said. Somehow I didn't see the sign posted that sleeveless shirts for men were not permitted. A gentleman, who had on a sleeveless shirt and swimming trunks with flip flops, who walked in after us was able to be seated... no big deal. I was told I had to change shirts or I wasn't allowed in... this was an issue... I ended up hurrying across the street to get a shirt and quickly changed. Once we were seated my wife made mention of the issue and of course it didn't seem right. I made mention of this to my waitress and she took care of us from jump. I want to commend our waitress for her hard work, her exceptional professionalism, as well as her attitude... she needs a raise! I would visit this establishment again JUST to see her. Thank you to the management for making sure our visit was great. I would still highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good food, live music, and great ambiance. The food was very good, but the restaurant itself was a little weird. It looked like an old night club that was turned into a restaurant. I felt like in a speed date bar that they show in the movies. We had the Creole Tomato dip with feta cheese, the briscket tacos, the tuna, and the tenderloin tips. Everything but the Tuna was absolutely amazing!! The briscket tacos were the best I have had in a while, and the tomato dip tasted like an authentic and chunky napoletana sauce. The tenderloin tips were truly tender, and the blue cheese and olives gave the dish a nice touch. The tuna was served on some fried wontons that tasted old, but other than that the tuna was fresh. This was so good we did the Tapas for 2. So much food , took home a doggie bag but totally worth it! I loved the crawfish Mac & cheese. Great staff, food and music. My girls and I came here to woo-hoo up for our completion of the "RocknRoll 1/2 marathon." After recouping, got our 2nd wind and was ready for more than just a good meal. Jazz'd was a befitting environment for a late dinner and drinks. A table couldn't be reserved because we were a party of 3; which initially caused some hesitation as we were staying at a hotel 20 mins aways; but we pressed on. Street parking was a challenge. Tip - park in a lot for $10 - peace of mind. The host was congenial and invited us to wait in the lounge area until our table was ready. The area was comfy, welcoming and the tasty cocktails made the waiting for our table fun. Heck we could have hung in the lounge for the duration of the evening. Before we knew it our table was ready. The menu accommodated everyone. Being economical, we chose the Tapas for two ($65), which was more than sufficient for the 3 of us: 4 tapas, soup/salad, 2 beverages and desserts. We went in and they were playing 80s pop music - not the music I expected, but the decor was cool. We ordered martinis (mine was a gin martini), Creole Tomato Dip, Jalapeno BBQ Shrimp & Grits, Coca-Cola Pork Ribs, & Steak Tataki Skewers. The martinis were okay - not the best, but not the worst. The tomato dip was a good start, a little spice and I liked the cheese on it. The ribs were pretty good, slightly overcooked, but tasty. That's where the good ends. The shrimp and grits were poorly seasoned and had what tasted like store bought bbq sauce. The steak skewers had no flavor what-so-ever. As good as the menu looked, I doubt we're going back to this restaurant unless there is a great reason (like a specific live band).
