    #1 Surfer Girl great choice

Great lattes, we loved our breakfast burritos, full of flavor "stuffed"... with spicy sauce. You can order online. Shaded tables under the eaves. Bagels, read to go- ground beans, burritos, lattes, coffee, iced drinks.

Good and fresh, but really doesn't take that long!

OMG! We come here every time we visit Kauai. Their açaí bowls are always so yummy and refreshing. Still loving it very single time. This time also opted for the cold brew which hit the spot!

Rode my bike around Kapaa and got hungry. Found this cute restaurant that seemed very packed, so it must be popular. I overheard some younger adults saying they found this place on tik tok! The breakfast burrito with bacon and avocado was good. The strawberry matcha with oat milk was great! Will be back

This is a delicious coffee spot, they do get super busy and have a long line. This review is overdue from 2022 but this place left lasting impression! We loved stopping here daily for coffee before starting our Hawaiian adventure everyday, it was great to grab a nice latte some good and enjoy the ocean. They are fairly quick once you order but the line is long. We always took it to go so can't comment much on the interior ambience, but it's an inviting spot, a bit touristy but it works.

Cute place bustling with clientele. Seating limited to indoors only due to the constant rain. So we got this order to go. I had the chance to try the interesting Portuguese sausage patty sandwich but it unfortunately wasn't what I expected which is on me deciding to try something new. Nothing bad the texture just kind of falls apart. Unlike the typical Portuguese sausage. The smoothie was good even though they ran out of ginger. We were there early morning. My latte tasted like watered down coffee. I suggest really looking into the menu before deciding what to order

First stop on the island and this place definitely did not disappoint! Amazing food and coffee to start the day, plus such a cool vibe. We're here for 10 days, so I'm sure we'll be back more than once! The workers were super friendly too!

Pleasant service at a nice coffee shop. The coffee was delicious. We especially loved the coconut and macadamia flavorings. The breakfast sandwiches were generously portioned and the Spam was a nice addition while in the islands. The bread was a standout! My son's burger was delicious! A pricey breakfast, but everything was tasty.

Amazing!!! I absolutely fell in love with this place. It's definitely worth all the hype. Friendly service, delicious pastries and avocado toast. Last but not least my ice coffee. I forgot the name but it was definitely good. I will definitely come back again the next time i visit Kauai.

We tried the Rebel Bagel and the sausage breakfast sandwich -- both were outstanding. My husband swore the sausage had chorizo vibes (in a good way), and I'm not arguing with him because it was delicious. The Rebel Bagel was like a chopped whitefish salad situation and honestly? Elite. Staff was super friendly, too. 10/10 would come back. The coffee was the star of the show.

Caffeine, charm, and good vibes -- all in one cup. Stopped into this little Uptown coffee spot and instantly felt like I'd walked into a Pinterest board come to life. Cozy corners, friendly smiles, and that glorious smell of freshly ground beans -- perfection. The coffee? Smooth, rich, and just the right kick to fuel a morning of exploring the nearby shops (which are as cute as the latte art). The barista was great. If I lived here, I'd absolutely be a regular -- laptop, latte, and lingering way too long.

I always enjoy coming to Java Kai. Usually we get the burrito but today we got the Surfer Girl bagel. And it is now my FAVORITE! There is so much going on with this sandwich and somehow it just works. Bacon was perfectly crispy, the pesto sauce was out of this world. Definitely get the everything bagel. Got the Hanalei Ube coffee and it's delicious. It did take forever but nice to know it's fresh. Food came out before our coffee was ready. I'd say that is the only negative thing I have to say about it. My husband really didn't sit and relax because he was up and down checking to see when our coffee would be ready. Then he had to get up to go get napkins, they didn't bring them out. Then he had to get up to go get a lid and straw because the cup didn't have either. Also had a slice of yummy carrot cake

I recommend ordering online ahead of time to avoid waiting in a long line during peak hours. Perfect spot for a grab and go breakfast, plus they have a lot of pastries and goodies in the display case if you want something a little sweeter. Sandwiches are so delicious my phone did not eat first haha

Came to Java Kai for breakfast because literally almost everyone told us to try it out. We got here around 8ish AM and it was PACKED. It's also a really small location so we could barely move around with the line. We were told there would be about a 30 minute to 1 hour wait for food, We still wanted to try something so we ordered a small pastry so we didn't have to wait that long. The vibe felt more like an "influencer" hotspot than a local or authentic experience. I had a lilikoi bar, which was good, but nothing that would make me want to come back. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

Passion Bakery Cafe is an absolute must if you're on the hunt for fresh malasadas! We came bright…read moreand early, and it was 100% worth it. We ordered the Lilikoi, Haupia, and Ube malasadas -- and WOW. All of them were so good, but the ube was our favorite! Soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and filled with so much flavor. You can really taste the freshness. The employees were also so sweet and kind, which made the experience even better. It's always nice to feel welcomed, especially early in the morning. Another big plus is the private parking lot with plenty of spaces -- super convenient! There's also lots of outdoor seating in a courtyard surrounded by beautiful plumeria trees (and some friendly chickens walking around), which adds to the whole island charm. Such a delicious and peaceful spot to start your day -- we'd definitely come back again!

Went to Passion Bakery for breakfast to try their "famous malasadas". Got the guava filled malasada…read moreand also too their Java Chip Mocha Frappuccino. Unfortunately being from Oahu with having Leonard's Bakery malasadas, these malasadas were rather mid compared to that. The guava filling was the artificially flavored type. But other than that it was a decent/above average sweet treat. The malasadas itself I'd say was 3 stars. However, the star was the Java Chip Mocha Frappuccino. The thing I loved most about it was that the java chips were small enough where it never got stuck in the straw and was evenly consistent with every sip. By far the best java chip mocha frappuccino in my book! I'd come back for this one. It made starbucks seem mid tbh. Service was friendly and efficient. And the ambiance, though quite small it was fresh with the smell of a malasadas bakery :) Plus a few tables and plenty parking outside. Overall I'd give it a 4 stars. Definitely coming back for that java chip frappuccino YUM!!!
