During my visit in Petaluma, I found Java Jacks. It's not your typical coffee shop but it's a MUST try. Judging by the photos & it being located in a parking lot, I wasn't sure but decided to try. The owners are super nice & awesome, I order a Dirty Chai (one of the best I have ever had). The raspberry scone delicious. Service was quick, they have a seating table or you can drive through. Don't skip out on checking out this coffee cart. Yes it's located in a parking lot on the south side of town but don't mistake that for low quality. Very extensive coffee list (that is a little overwhelming) which changes season to season. Give yourself extra time as there might be a line, as it is mainly a drive through but there is walk up window option. The girls are friendly and love that it's locally owned. Ps they are very accommodating if you want to make something off menu! My favorite is Coconut Cold Foam Cold Brew. read more

The staff here are absolute sweethearts--seriously, some of the kindest people you'll meet. What makes this place extra special? It's owned and run by the owner herself! Everything but they're coffee is good. Half the time the baristas are too busy talking to realize their espresso shots have died then they give u the coffee tasting burnt. I don't think I have ever had a nice interaction, half of the time the baristas are looking you up and down. They clearly pick and choose who they want to talk to. This was convenient as it was close to the gym I work out at but every time I attempted to like the place and got coffee it was burnt or tasted burnt. I also didn't like how the manager or owner would decide without asking me what she wanted to do with my change? Today was Saturday and I ordered some items I'd seen on their menu board. The Lavender Honey Latte and the Blue Raspberry Cooler. I asked for the Latte to be iced and they were happy to do that. We've had some hot weather so I wanted 2 cold drinks. For the Cooler they offered Red Bull or Italian soda. I ordered the Italian soda and it was a great way to start the day. This is THE SPOT!!! Delicious, friendly, local, and super fast. Skip Starbucks and support small. It's worth it. If you see a long line here, don't be scared off-- they are quick as Hermes. Their drive through takes about 3 minutes at the worst even with a line of cars. I've waited at the Starbucks down the street for 20 minutes and will never go back. Our time is worth so much more-- so is supporting small business! Fyi if you love seasonal lattes- my favorite is gingerbread- they carry it all year. Also SO many dairy alternatives. Vegan heaven. Their muffins are the bomb and catered from a SF local bakery. If you bring your dog they have doggie treats. And if you bring your kid they have stickers! The sweet breads are also just super yum. I love this place, they have tons of options, and are quick and friendly. However, the last time I was here, my friend and I ordered two hot coffees that we have never tried before, and did not like either of them. We thought we could try asking for a replacement drink that is the same price. The woman working told us if we wanted another drink we would have to pay, even if it's the same price. My friend and I were upset and didn't take the offer. We were disappointed because starbucks makes their customers a whole new drink if they are unhappy with their purchase. read more

First time! Was a little confused how it was a drive up coffee shop... wasn't really sure where to drive out that we pulled up and just ended up getting out of the car and walking up. The lady was super nice she even apologize for coming off rude she said she was just freezing cold. I didn't find her to come up right at all she was super sweet. I got a vanilla latte super good!!! And we got a redeye! Also super good. The bagel was just a simple bagel it was A bit hard to put the cream cheese on it when you're trying to drive. A couple days a week I drive through here before I go to Shollenberger and I get a coffee and a day old muffin to share with my baby before our long walk. The employees here are always courteous and kind. Their coffee is consistently good. The muffins which come from a great company in Sonoma are delicious and a good size for sharing or keeping for an afternoon snack. The espresso based drinks aren't strong enough for my liking but the medium roast coffee is really great. So much better than anything the chain around the corner has to offer. PS. Whoever keeps buying up all the maple bran muffins needs to switch it up and leave some for the rest of us! read more

I've been here a few times and had day old doughnuts served to me as fresh, so I don't buy the doughnuts anymore. The coffee is typically good and the service was good so I came back. This morning was a bummer though. Stood and waited to be served for a few minutes while a guy in his truck ordered 4 cups of coffee. Only after he was driving off did someone acknowledge me and ask gor my order. They then used half a shot of esspresso as opposed to a whole shot and rushed my drink out so they could help the next car. The sole one dollar bill in the tip jar says it all. Poor service equals no tip and now one less customer. I'll goto Starbucks and wait in line from now on. Sorry to have bothered these guys with my walk up order. Coffee tastes like it was burnt this time too. read more
