Madeleine's Macarons is right across the street from RH Yountville. The interior is clean and minimal. They also offer a variety of sandwiches and crepes, in addition to drinks, gelatos, and the large pastry case of macarons. Service was friendly, but could be slow because it's just 1 person manning the whole shop. As noted before, Madeleine's offers your standard macaron flavors, in addition to some fun sweet flavors like Watermelon Tajin, as well as savory flavors. I honestly don't know why more spots aren't offering these savory versions, because they are AMAZING. In addition to my friend buying a pack of 6 elote macarons, I tried the: strawberry balsamic, thyme & feta with hazelnuts, apple gorgonzola & almond, watermelon tajin, passionfruit, and orange creamsicle. With the exception of the apple gorgonzola, all the flavors were perfectly balanced and delicious. I especially enjoyed the watermelon tajin and the thyme & feta. The elote was also amazing, and had a slight tang. I would have loved more apple in the apple gorgonzola, but it still had a wonderful texture. Of note, however, is that the matcha latte I got was a bit underwhelming. I added the pistachio rose syrup, but could barely taste it. Surprisingly the lavender was my least favorite despite us choosing it as a "safe" option - the filling was almost soapy in taste and felt slightly gritty/oily. The watermelon tajin had the flavor of a jolly rancher and also bubblegum and was very unique and interesting to try. The apple gorgonzola was likely my favorite, with the macarons have a sour apple taste and the filling being more creamy with buts of funk and umami from the gorgonzola cutting through. Overall, lots of unique fun flavors at Madeline's and I'm glad I gave it a try! I'm definitely impressed by how they were able to capture this wide variety of flavors in macaron form, and the macaron cookies themseslves are wonderful in texture.

Not knowing what to expect and feeling a little unsure, upon my arrival I was immediately greeted with an inviting welcome from the instructor, Abby, and shown to my spot at the table that was already prepared for my arrival with tools, cookies and icing. As the class began, Abby's instructions were so detailed that it not only made the class very easy to follow along but made it a whole lot of fun and not intimidating at all...and the 80's music playing in the background almost made it a dance party! We were able to leave with our creations and she even provided each of us with a professional baking box. Now, I am just looking forward to the next class! They also have another small private room but that was going to be used for a wedding cake meeting. Gergana is the owner and she greeted us warmly. She said she took over the patisserie in 2019. The other employees were very sweet and helpful. They provided us with a tea menu so we could select a tea from their varied tea menu. They returned with little pots of tea for each of us. There were many people dropping by to pick up a pastry and drink and others stopped by to pick up their cake order. The employees were efficient and quick to help everyone. They refilled our tea pots with hot water and checked on us throughout our time there. The desserts on the top level were our favorites. It came with a candle which was very sweet. The sandwiches on the middle level were chicken, egg salad and cream cheese with cucumber. Our favorite was the chicken salad. Overall, it was a fun experience to savor all of their small samplings and Gergana is there to ensure everything runs smoothly so that your time there is relaxing and extra special. She even gave us a hug as we were leaving. I look forward to visiting this local patisserie again for a cup of a tea and a beautiful pastry.

Unfortunately, the second coffee still had a small amount of grounds at the bottom. It was much less than the first one, so I decided not to go back for a third time. I'm not sure if this was just an issue with the batch or the way the coffee was prepared that day, but it was a little disappointing, especially from a bakery with Bouchon's reputation.
