I really love this place, it is my go-to when I have to work late & want to pick something up for my partner & I for dinner. We LOVE poke and were so happy when this place opened; I was scared they might not make it through the Covid epidemic but they're still here and I'm SO glad they are. I stopped by a couple weeks ago & was happy to see the same guy working there, I wish I remembered his name but he's always very friendly, helpful and just a good energy about him! Their bowls are always fresh, tasty and packed -- a great deal for the price! A nice selection & variety, too! We all know how much food is going up these days, eating out is more of a treat than ever but I don't feel gouged or ripped off here in the least. As I mentioned, the food is FRESH and tastes great, they've got the proportions down great and I am always full and content after dinner! If I could rate NO STARS I would. Hungry, like so damn hungry. Poke sounds great, new place for me. I got a bowl with sushi rice, salmon, tuna, edamame, cucumber, and avocado. On first glance it looked off, the fish is dry, flakey, oddly shaped and orange through and through (no white stripes). The tuna just looked dry and dull. Saved my judgement til I took a bite, didn't even do it the injustice of smelling first. So bad bro. Like I didn't even think of swallowing. Everything I said PLUS bad, old, fishy flavor, stale texture, I found scales, it didn't taste at all like the fish it was supposed to be. The avocado was unripe and bitter, the sushi rice seemed to have non of the things in it that make it sushi rice (sugar, vinegar, etc..). Waste of $15+. For shame. read more

I love the big portions that I was given for my poke bowl. Many poke bowl places usually charge extra for multiple toppings so I was super surprised that this place didn't. I was able to load my bowl! I came during a rush hour so it took a while to make, but that's totally okay I was willing to wait. The staff was nice and tried to make orders as fast as they could. My only "con" would be that it was super hot inside. I wanted to dine in but it felt very stuffy. Maybe the AC is broken? I just ate at the tables outside. I have eaten here many times before but recently this was probably the worst experience I have ever had with any food place. I ordered spicy tuna and salmon like I had done 30-40 times before with no issues but this time was different. The spicy tuna was gray/brown looking, had a horrible fishy smell, I tried a tiny bite of it and then spit it out. The texture and flavor were rancid. I took the food back just to get my money back. The reason I will never go back to this place is there was no reaction but "I need to contact my supervisor to issue a refund". The employees there just stared at me like I was wrong in this situation and even after 20min waiting for approval for the refund there was no acknowledgment of anything being a problem. DO NOT EAT HERE! No matter how many times I had eaten here their response was unacceptable and irresponsible. read more

Food is always on point but it seems it has gone down in quality lately and the sauce is always scarce especially whenever the older Asian man is working there. I've had friends say he is not very sanitary which is scary if you're handling and cutting raw fish. I've seen on multiple occasions where he is sleeping on a chair or on his phone and not wash his hands after handling his phone, while the cashier is working and taking orders. Maybe the owners should talk to him about being clean/sanitary or pay for him to take a course on it. The service is always great and amazing from both cashiers that work there ( Tim and Alberto). They are kind and warm welcoming. They never have an issue providing what kind of fish is best for the day and their own opinions on teas or sauces. They definitely have a great attitude all the time I come in. I've seen multiple reviews on the service and the ones that seem harsh are when fellow yelpers are still not seeing the full picture and including their time eating here. This place has and always will have a special place in my heart ever since they opened and my go to poke place in Sonoma County. Just saddening to see the food quality go down. read more

I loved this place for years, the quality used to be almost as good as legit Hawaiian poke. unfortunately in the last few months the quality has gone downhill. The fish (yellowtail) is not as fresh, the sushi rice doesnt seem to be cooked quite right and the flavor is off, and the mixed ingredient quantities seem haphazard. This place is really good! Having my recently returned from Hawaii, I had high standards for poke. Seriously high. While this couldn't match the caught-fresh-the-same-day level of yum, there was plenty to love about an Aloh-o poke bowl. For one thing: the options. You can customize your bowl in a seemingly endless number of ways. I'd never thought about fried onions, but you know what? The crunch was really good. Second, they are really generous with scoops of fish. I had tuna or salmon in nearly every bite. Third, it's a really good deal. $15 for a good-sized bowl. If you want extra fish, it's $3. Aloh-o is a cute casual restaurant, the inside was very clean and sanitary. It was my first time experience, which was very pleasant. The staff was nice and welcoming. I ordered two drinks and one custom made Poke-bowl. For my drinks I ordered a coffee milk tea and a Thai tea, the coffee milk tea tasted straight up like coffee which was what we wanted, and the Thai tea had a light flavor, not a very strong taste. However, I did get honey boba in both drinks and I was disappointed as the boba had no flavor. Definitely worst boba I've had. For my custom Pokebowl, it was on the pricier side as it was $15, and I was a bit skeptical as it was my first time. However, I was not disappointed with the portion size, I got a tuna bowl and the fish tasted fresh, and of course I customized it to my liking so it was delicious! I need to start by saying If I could eat sushi everyday I WOULD! so this is my go to spot for take out like 2 days a week when I dont have the time to go out for sushi. Needless to say its much affordable than sushi ofc. I usually get the 2 scoop cold bowl & go for imitation crab & shrimp or switch it up for salmon or tuna. I love that all their toppings are pretty much limitless and you can add however many toppings you want to the bowl. So I add avocado, cucumber, crispy onion, green onion, red onion (yes I love onions), seaweed salad, tamago (sweet omelet), masago (fish eggs) & go for the spicy mayo for the sauce with spicy original. If im too hungry I add a side of teriyaki salmon as well, each order is 1 piece of small salmon but goes with the price. My wife and I tried Aloh-o for the very first time on July 23, 2024. It was amazing how easy it was to get your items ordered. Instead of a cashier taking the order there was a touch screen menu where you got to select what you put on your poke bowl. Everything from rice or chips as the base to all the options. We both had raw cold poke bowls which is how we prefer to each ours, but they have other options such as a hot poke bowl as well. Ambiance was that the restaurant itself is a little small but they have outdoor seating to eat if you so choose. Since it was going to be a hot day we decided it best to just take our food with us. My wife also ordered a boba tea which was absolutely wonderful and well made. The service of the employees as you walk in is warm and welcoming. They offered to help us with any questions we had regarding the ordering on the touch screen menu. All the food tasted great and fresh with no frozen food in site at least to my taste buds. Overall, absolutely a wonderful experience with friendly staff welcoming everyone in who came through the door. That is what I call customer service. read more

Stopped by Aloh-o on the way down to SF. The poke was pretty good- it was your standard poke bowl with two scoops of fish and the fixings. The quality of the salmon and scallop was MUCH better than I expected. I have generally stopped eating CA-style poke because the last few times I've eaten it, you could tell that the sashimi was fish scraps that were not fresh. I also appreciated being able to choose as many toppings as I wanted, and I essentially had two meals for around $14 dollars, which isn't too bad. Although the jasmine milk tea was a little bit on the weaker side and the boba had no sweetness at all, I was glad that adjustments to the sweetness level could be made and my partner's boba itch was scratched. read more

I was so excited to eat my poke bowl that I forgot to take the photo until after I was done eating. Fresh ingredients and great flavor. Can't even begin to describe how incredibly amazing the staff is, especially the Manager Tim. I had originally left a negative review because after ordering from them twice, I was left with a negative experience. The Poke bowl was great but I just felt like it wasn't enough protein. Same time again the second time, except I payed for extra salmon. I spoke to Tim and told him about my experience. He was very apologetic. Advised me that sometimes ordering through the website might have some glitches and it may or may not have read the extra salmon. Anyways, Tim and I came to a resolution. I am very happy of how my poke bowl turned out. Tried their Coffee Boba for the first time, and it's absolutely DELICIOUS! Thank You Aloh-O! This place is so, so tasty, fresh, and flavorful. Every time I've gotten it the bowl is packed to the brim. I went with a friend awhile back and they walked her through everything that had gluten in it. This is one of the only places where I see employees protecting the public by wearing masks and I really appreciate that. I also appreciate that you can customize how sweet you want your tea to be.
