I was so happy to discover this quaint little coffee shop that is well known in La Jolla called Java Earth Coffee. The parking lot is super tiny, but don't let that keep you away because it's so worth it. I got the most delicious decaf oat milk iced caramel latte served by such gracious people, I felt like I was having a high-end experience. I also bought the strawberry hand pie and it was so good. I got everything to go and what a wonderful experience that the order was correct. I can't wait to go there again! read more

Arguably a cute spot and the service is slow (it's fine), but they definitely need to up their matcha game. Tried the matcha latte because it was recommended by Paru, a tea house down the street, and it was super disappointing. Just tasted like steamed milk and the maple syrup is really overpowering, no matcha flavor present at all. read more

The service is always super fast and they have really good matcha-- best I've had in La Jolla. I get the matcha latte with extra ice and vanilla, it already comes with oatmilk. What I like about their matcha is that it actually tastes like matcha. They also have really good banana cream foam that you can add to any drink. It's a little small inside with only two-seater tables but they have a lot of outdoor seating as well. read more

Sooo good!! Best avo toast. Hearty. Warm bread. Large avo chunks Great service. Lovely outside courtyard. This is a family owned business father and son are here or in the PB location often. You might find their fabulous Peruvian young man working at the front here in La Jolla. Everybody has a smile and is so kind. I love that they have vegan chorizo in the burritos. They can even make a vegan burrito by setting out the egg for spinach. read more

Stopped by for a matcha and a bite to eat and both were amazing! I ordered the wellness bowl and a regular matcha; the bowl was super flavorful while still being healthy! The tahini was to die for, and I was pleased with the portion size. And my matcha was great as well. Definitely recommend! The Bird Rock location is amazing too. read more

This is our second DoorDash breakfast and they were both amazing! Lox and bagel is terrific with the pickled onions and really appreciate griddle toasting the breakfast burrito after it was assembled. Seasonal ginger latte was great and a bonus ginger cookie. And then there's the pistachio latte! I've never even seen one of these on a menu. Wow. Delivered hot in 20 minutes start to finish. Well done. read more

Great little shop with indoor and outdoor seating, it's never been over packed during the weekdays and I love the assortment of fresh bites. The veggie bagel was so delicious and fresh! I've been here a few times. The espresso drinks taste better than the chai tea (I'm a latte and chai person). The toasts are tasty and so are the pastries. The staff is nice and quick. The patio area can also get crowded since there are other eatery's in the plaza. It's a good coffee shop though! read more

Nestled in a small shopping group it's a nice quick spot for a refreshing beverage. Trying the mushroom based coffee and feeling health with little to no difference from regular coffee. Noisy, possibly due to ac but bearable. Very light inside providing good energy/ vibes for a La Jolla location! Oat bar is home made and amazing. Cute little coffee shop near La Jolla shores! I got the brown sugar cinnamon latte, and it was good, but not the best latte Ive tried. The cinnamon flavor was strong and I couldn't really taste the brown sugar. My bf got the lavender matcha latte, the lavender taste complemented the matcha well. The barista was nice and friendly. It wasn't too packed on a Sunday, and they have a lot of seats outdoors. It's very clean and well decorated indoors. read more

Such a cute spot! They have two locations in PB and La Jolla. This was the La Jolla store and there's a parking lot right across the cafe and a bunch of street parking. Their maple oat latte and Chagaccino are so good! It's a good spot to sit down and get some work done as well! read more

I had the Breakfast Burrito, and my girl wanted the Avocado Toast. This place was amazing right off the coast of La Jolla. Very authentic and healthy type of food here. I also got my Java Coffee. Such a cute little place surrounded by a bunch of small restaurants. There's a lot of shaded seating outside so perfect for a nice day to rest and sip coffee. I got the mint coffee but asked for it hot and the barista was really nice in explaining how she would make it hot instead of iced. The coffee was fresh with a hint of mint. A bit pricy especially looking at the other options but it was a good place to check out. The design of the cafe was really cute too and I loved the cup! read more

Our new Saturday spot. They have some unusual coffee drinks that are fantastic. Nice staff, great patio area out front and can I say the best Almond Bearclaw! The best giant croissants. I literally won't come on days I want to stay away from carbs! I see really delicious looking sandwiches from here too. Smoothies and muffins. They do have a GF zucchini bread that is moist. The coffee here is great, the specialty coffees are even better if you're adventurous. Thats just the start, I've tried almost everything on the food menu and have difficulty choosing what the best thing here is. One more fun thing is their random and seasonal specials, your only problem could be that you come back more than once a week. Great service every time and pleasant ambiance. read more

This place is super cute, but I did not have a great food experience. I got the soy chorizo burrito, and it was so incredibly salty. I only ate about a fourth of it and had to throw out the rest. I actually like a decent amount of salt in my food, but this was just overkill. I always think it is better to under salt than over salt. read more

To note, the coffee itself is just okay, and unfortunately the almond croissant wasn't very good when I tried it. That said, the atmosphere is really what makes this place worth visiting. The staff is also pretty nice and welcoming. Overall, come for the great study spot more than the food or coffee.

As a business owner and someone who frequents a lot of establishments around the world, I'm always paying extra attention to how different brands and teams operate. After being a regular at Parakeet for the last 6 years, I felt inclined to finally write a review, based purely on appreciation for the all-star team at this location (Kayla, Janelle, Neda, Hailey, Regina, Michelle, Calvin, and all the cooks crushing it in the kitchen daily) and everything they bring to the community. BIG VIBES & Customer Experience Biggest one on the checklist. The energy is always on point from the second I walk in to the second I leave. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, authentic, and genuinely cares about making the experience top-tier. Also worth noting, they're up at 5 AM to open at 7 AM... which is already heroic. On top of that, this location gets its fair share of entitled, unfriendly, and straight-up rude customers (I've seen it firsthand on the daily). Even then, the ladies and Calvin handle it with patience, professionalism, and still keep the good energy going. That shit is not easy. Attention to Detail Regina and Hailey run a tight operation day to day. Their attention to detail and consistency is honestly unmatched. I've been to plenty of spots around the neighborhood, and no one has it as dialed in as they do. They are also better dressed than other managers in the biz. BIG STYLE POINTS Problem Solving I've watched this team navigate everything--broken equipment, unhappy customers, clogged toilets (lol), bad weather, and difficult delivery drivers yelling at them through Google Translate. And they handle it all without missing a beat and staying composed. Meanwhile, I've seen other places completely implode in similar situations--blaming each other or arguing instead of solving the problem. Not the case here. Always solution-oriented. Extra props to Janelle for unclogging the toilet and Kayla for chasing a grasshopper out the door when it jumped on a table. Yessahhh Consistency Food and drinks are always consistent--fresh, well-seasoned, proper temp, and clean presentation. The cooks are back there working hard but still somehow having a good time while pushing out orders for both dine-in and delivery. The girls and Calvin on bar are always crushing it. Espresso is never burnt, matcha is smooth (no clumpy, low-tier stuff), and the latte art is always on point. Shoutout to Neda, Hailey, Regina, and Calvin for keeping things fast and high quality. Cleanliness Everything is always clean, smells good, and actually put away where it belongs. No shakshuka stains on tables, no scone crumbs everywhere, no sticky coffee floors, no overflowing trash cans--things that, somehow, have become the norm at other nearby spots. All in all, I never leave reviews, so the fact that I'm writing this says something lol. Service was fast & friendly and the price for the medium smoothie was very reasonable! A few of the kids who were with me were disappointed because they ran out of cinnamon rolls, but otherwise, they were happy with our little snacky stop. Plenty of outdoor seating as always. Street parking. Peace.

The Green Mango power smoothie tasted really fresh, but came out room temperature. I totally get that the fruit and greens might be fresh, never frozen (great in theory). However, I would at least expect the homemade mango juice to be chilled and/or ice to be added to make the drink a little cool at $10. We still LOVED the energy booster. It leans heavier on peanut butter flavor than chocolate or espresso, but it's fantastic, filling, and, of course, refreshing thanks to the ~chilled~ almond milk. Love the quality overall, even though it might not be my go-to when the heat is killer!

I specifically wanted to try their Ube pancakes. The pancake was good! However the Ube flavor is not strong but if you just love a good pancake then you'll like it for sure. The downside is because there's so many people there is not enough seats. So I asked for my food Togo in case a seat didn't open up. In summary, it's a cute little cafe, try to come here during off peak hours for a more calm vibe but even if you come the wait isn't super long.

Nevermind ignoring the customer but didn't even finish giving the order. No drinks. My daughter had to ask a manager for the drinks. Comes to the car as we drive off I open the bag and items are missing. I guess no one checks orders. Had to double park. I called and warned the cafe she was upset. They gave her the one missing item and they ran out of croissants. Mind you it's what I wanted. They gave her an extra Oreo cronut. This was the worst experience. I do not recommend this establishment

However, for a place that lists free Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi did not work. Also, I couldn't even get my data to work so I couldn't open up a hotspot. The same thing happened to my friend, so it wasn't just me.
