My daughter took me out today to celebrate Mother's Day early on a Saturday since she works on Sunday (Mother's Day). We decided on 12-hour Matcha. Luckily, we had hardly anyone in line so we didn't wait for very long. They do not show a printed menu anywhere from what I saw other than on a computer ordering screen. We ordered two Banana Matcha drinks. The flavor of the Matcha was good, and the banana flavored cold foam was also tasty butt it seemed to be more than the actual Matcha. We were disappointed in the one-size cup small they serve the Matcha in. The size was like a child's portion size cup. That was my only complaint. It cost 9.00 plus tax which was overpriced for the size of the cup. Sorry to say I will not return. The high-priced Matcha needs to be available in larger cups.

Seen this place on IG and thought I would give it a try. Once I arrived I waited a bit to order. After a few minutes the barista asked if I was waiting on something I said yea to order. She then told me you order on the kiosk, personally I don't like that set up I prefer a have a human interaction with a small business. It makes it a little more personal and you get to ask questions etc..... I ordered the gone surfing. You can pretty much select the milk the sweetness level on the kiosk. Overall the drink was ok not worth the $12 bucks I paid tbh. Street parking with the meters. They had two tables outside that seat two.

Have been hearing about this matcha spot from friends and wanted to try it! I thought it was like a cafe but it's more of a grab & go spot. There are 2 tables on the sidewalk for seating with a few chairs. It would be a cute spot if they had indoor seating but I don't think they're set up like that. Service was quick & easy, you order on an iPad and there seemed to be plenty of options including a "regular" matcha latte and then some fun options like a tiramisu matcha, strawberry matcha, etc. I ordered the biscoff matcha with oat milk. You have the option for less/normal/extra sweetness levels. The total came out to $9.50 with tax, before tip. Pricing seems normal for what you're getting. I enjoyed my drink! I don't have the most complex palate when it comes to matcha but I thought it was good & with the "normal" level of sweetness, not overly sweet. I would come back!

Anyone who says this is good matcha is unfortunately lying. No hate to the gal making our drinks, she seemed sweet. However, both of our drinks were not only expensive but tasted nothing like matcha. I got the Einspanner matcha and the coconut matcha. Total was $17 and some change. They also ask for a tip despite zero interaction with staff. Einspanner tasted like milk, zero matcha flavor and clearly made with poor, cheap quality matcha. Vanilla cream top that Einspanners usually have was foamy, flavorless and dissipated before the first sip. Coconut matcha was somehow better, but still lacked any strong matcha flavor. Both drinks left a lot to be desired. The ordering process is thru a machine, u dont interact with anyone at all except for the drink handoff, the menu is long and weirdly repetitive. Matcha candies were a nice touch but not enough to redeem the whole experience. Unfortunately, i cannot recommend this place less.

Was walking by and decided to try this matcha spot. It's a hole in the wall spot with limited table seating, easy to grab and go. You order off a phone kiosk which is interesting. I waited not too long for my drink. While the drink was aesthetically pleasing, I think for the price point it was just okay. The matcha was $9.50 and it didn't have a strong matcha flavor so I personally thought it was overpriced. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it was good.

Matcha einspanner and double matcha

Wanted to try their new location after trying their original location. There was no line to order on a Saturday afternoon and ordering is done on the self kiosk in front. -Double matcha (4/5): good flavor and sweetness, decent strength as I could actually taste the matcha -Matcha einspanner (1/5): no matcha taste at all, milky, I could only taste the vanilla, pale green color The drinks were pretty pricey for such a small size. Service was quick.

I've been to their original location so wanted to check out their new one! Came on a Saturday afternoon and found meter parking close by. There was no line to order (using the device in front) and drinks came out within a few minutes. Double matcha (4/5): decent strength, I could actually taste the matcha! It is on the sweeter side, even for a sweet tooth for me Matcha einspanner (2/5): from the beginning, I knew it would taste off due to the pale green color compared to the double matcha. Sadly I did not taste any matcha at all and it left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Not sure what it was Both drinks were on the pricier side, especially for such a small size. I wouldn't rush back but I'd give them another try if I was in the area and craving a matcha

You had me with Matcha! While strolling around the areas of Pacific Beach, I noticed this little bright green stand. Was excited to try 12 Hrs Matcha cafe because it's self explanatory...did it take 12 hours to brew prep the matcha to create an intense match flavor...? The store front is basically a walk up window where you see the menu on the small ordering tablet, making your preference about type of milk, and flavor selections and pay, All electronically. No human interaction during the ordering process. An actual human does prepare your drink and set it on the counter for you to pickup. Your phone will alert you once your order is ready. I selected a couple of drinks: the Ube match and the banana bread matcha latte, both light in sugar and ice. The drinks come in rather smallish cups, if I had asked for more ice, the contents would be a lot less :( Presentation was nice. The guy who prepared my drinks was also nice and friendly. Upon the tasting each drink, the top portion where the added flavors are were delicious, you need a straw to sip the bottom portion with the matcha, which tasted NOT as strong or intense as I expected given the name 12 hours :( Was disappointed the drink didn't live up to my reasonable expectation of a strong tasting matcha, will probably not return. If you like matcha lattes with creative flavors and don't necessarily want the intense matcha taste, try it.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was a line but it wasn't too bad about a 10 min wait. Street parking is the only option. The place is super small it's like a Stand where you just order, wait and pick up on the outside. I ordered just a regular matcha latte with almond milk and less sweet. They only have the option of oat or almond milk. And their sweet syrups are agave. They were pretty fast with making my drink. The drink was alright, there wasn't anything special or memorable to me. The matcha is too light not a dark vibrant green. And even though I opted for the least amount of sweet I tasted the sweetness more than the matcha itself. There was no hint of earthiness to it. Overall this place is just a sugary drink place in my opinion.

Einspanner and Strawberry Matcha

New matcha cafe that opened fairly recently and I was very interested to try and see how they compared to some other more established cafes in the area. When I saw all the different matcha drinks you could order, I had high hopes that they would meet expectations. To start off, the location is not the easiest to get to. They're located on one of the busier streets in Pacific Beach and parking in that area could be a nightmare. Luckily, we snagged a meter spot right in front of the cafe. Our other friends had to park several blocks away in the residential area and walk over. At the counter window, we ordered through a small kiosk and there's a screen with estimated wait times based on your order number. At this point, there's no interaction with the staff as they're all behind the scenes working on everybody's drinks. If you have any questions before sending your order in, you would have to holler or wait for them to bring an order out. I ordered the Einspanner and the Strawberry Matcha. Both were great matcha drinks and I didn't notice any grittiness that you would find in some poorer quality drinks. Between the two, the Einspanner was my favorite because of the vanilla foam. The Strawberry had a thick, chunky jam on the bottom and it didn't mix easily into the drink so at times, you'd get a big sip of just jam/syrup. Overall, this place is a very solid matcha cafe but it's pretty expensive for the amount of matcha you get. I'm glad I got to try this place out but there are a lot more cheaper options in San Diego.

Salt Vault x 12 HRS MATCHA
Miranda M.

My friend and I came here the other day looking for a place with ube matcha lattes. This little walk up window might be unsuspecting, but don't be fooled, these lattes are unmatched. This stall had lots of neighborhood offers around it like QR codes for free workout trials at local studios. The menu was available to view on an iPad like touch screen. We ordered and paid from there and our orders were ready pretty quickly to take away with straws. I had an iced ube cloud matcha latte with regular sweetness and an extra matcha scoop (needed the caffeine) with almond milk. I would get this every day if I could. The perfect amount of sweetness and ube flavor, and was worth every penny. My friend had the Salt Vault x 12 HRS MATCHA, which was a iced coconut water matcha latte with I believe strawberry foam. Hers was a bit more refreshing than mine and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing both a caffeine and hydration boost.

Suite front

12 Hrs Matcha Cafe has made its way to the PB neighborhood after relocating from Chula Vista. They have taken over a suite that housed a short-lived ice cream shop. The setup was a service window with no available seating so you have to take your order to go. A small two-page menu was provided at the window next to a self-service ordering tablet. A screen behind the counter tracked the status of orders and indicated when they could be picked up. There were nine drinks on the left page which was the Signature Luxe category. Three drinks were on the right page which was the Guilty Pleasures: Matcha Dream category. Oat milk or almond milk were available as a base, and all drinks could only be made with ice. I chose the Mango Matcha which included a scoop of mango puree to go with four grams of matcha and oat milk. The serving size was small for the $8.50 price, however the flavors were some of the most intense I have tried for both the matcha and the fruit. I stirred my drink a few times to ensure the puree would continue to be mixed with the oat milk and matcha. My wait was minimal as there were just two customers ahead of me. I heard there have been instances with a significant line. I gave a four star rating for my visit to 12 Hrs Matcha Cafe.

Creme brulee matcha
Anastasia V.

Stopped by with a friend to try 12 Hrs Matcha after hearing so many good things about it from multiple people. The shop is basically a window where you order on an ipad and wait for your drink. When it was our turn to order, we noticed that most of the menu was unavailable. We both decided on the creme brulee matcha. Both less sweet, one with almond milk and the other with oat milk. Unfortunately, neither of us cared for our lattes and ended up throwing them away, which hurt us cos we were raised not to waste food. All we tasted was milk and cream. It definitely overpowered the matcha flavor and overall drink. Sadly, each latte was about $10 too. Not sure if we probably should've ordered something else or if we just came on a bad day.

I will preface this review with the acknowledgment that this is the epitome of first world…read moreproblems. I actually love this place (I could have sworn I had reviewed positively before). I'm just extremely disappointed with how poor my experience was today because I had only super positive experiences previously and was looking forward to dining there this morning after sometime away, but holy hell ....today's experience has been so profoundly bad. Firstly, my husband ordered two breakfast burritos - one with bacon and the other with bacon on the side. I'll chalk this one up to miscommunication, but they put bacon in one, and bacon in the other too - and then added bacon on the side to the other and charged us $5.50 for the extra bacon. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here and will be sure to communicate explicitly next time. They kindly made me a new one, but the new one had potatoes that weren't cooked thoroughly (likely to rush the food to me, so I acknowledge the difficulty here), however there was hardly any avocado. I literally had to complain again because I didn't believe there was any avocado at all. I wouldn't be as pissed if this weren't an EIGHTEEN DOLLAR breakfast burrito. Lastly, the coffee lids don't fit on the cups. We tried to put one on and ended up spilling the entire coffee. I chalked this up to an accident on our part, however another patron who observed our incident said "their lids don't fit the cup, right??" And I was like "oh so it wasn't just us??" And she was like "no, I almost spilled mine all over too." This random patron encouraged us to ask for a new cup of coffee as a result (thanks, random patron!). The Molly's team did kindly make us a new (albeit quite bitter) drink, which I appreciate. However, the lid was still an issue - it would spill out of the cup all over the rim between the cup and the lid when I'd try to take a sip, so I took off the lid entirely, but then was stuck with dealing with spills while walking around - I had to move at a snail's pace to prevent spills altogether. This was easier to deal with random leakage around the entire cup every time I'd sip with the lid on. Ultimately It was just a lose-lose with the ill fitting lid situation. All this to say - Molly's Team, yall were fantastic just a month ago. What happened? I understand food and services in the beach area stuff are often expensive and rarely good, but you guys are *too* expensive for this poor of service and quality. Two stars because at least the folks there are generally nice.

You can't really beat the refreshing taste of fresh fruit and nutty granola and butter. Especially when you can take this delectable bowl to the beach and just vibe in the sand. Wave Bowl $16 (14.50+1.50): 5/5 The bowl itself looks fairly small like, but deceptively so since I was stuffed after eating the whole thing for breakfast. It is higher cost than I would usually spend but I don't eat açaí bowls to know the average. Personally I really liked that the toppings were at the bottom and the bases were on top, not just because it was a beautiful display but because sometimes when it is the opposite, it can quickly get messy with toppings falling and dropping. The granola was crunchy and the add-on nut butter ($1.50) was plentiful and contrasted well to the fruits. You get some finely diced strawberries and bananas that were just the right amount of ripe, the bananas a little more firm but definitely preferred with the bases. The pineapple spirulina was favorite as it had a good sweetness to it. Honestly wished I could get a bowl with just this as a base and of course the natural blue color is just so unique. Coconut was coconutty and the pitaya was brightly colored, not too much distinctive taste on this one. Peak San Diego Experience

In this case yes the bowl was OK was but was no better than the 3 other bowl places within a mile of this location. The wait was LONG as for many of the bowl places on this street but this one was extra long as in 45 minutes to an hour wait on off hours long. And of course with all these tik tok famous places the price was inflated. Based on taste alone I could have given this place 4 starts but the extra tik tok tax(inflated price just for being TikTok trendy) and extra wait time for the exact same thing you can get anywhere else rubbed me wrong so I'm going to have to leave this 3 star right here.

We come to PB once a year around the holidays, and love trying new places. We are often looking for…read morenew places to grab a drink, or have coffee in the morning. We try to stay away from S-Bux in favor of trying and supporting the local spots! This is actually the second year in a row that we've come to Pump. We first discovered it last year during a combination of Yelp searches, and a little A-Frame sign they have along the boardwalk. The reviews were mostly all good, and we quickly understood why. LOCATION & INSIDE: Located in a little outdoor shopping center, the inside itself is pretty small. Amongst different areas, there is room for around a dozen or less people to sit inside. They have a little space against the wall across from the counter where they sell shirts and other items such as travel mugs, glass sippers, and mushroom coffee! There are a few additional tables out front, but I recommend taking your coffee down for a stroll along the beach if the weather permits. DRINKS: This is a pretty typical coffee shop in terms of offerings, with options including regular coffee, cold brew, pour-over, espresso, cappuccino, americano, latte, tea, tea latte, and hot chocolate. They have several options for most categories, including a Caramel Macchiato, (White) Mocha, and a Rose Lavender latte, to name a few. They also have seasonal drinks, which are currently a Tiramisu Cold Brew and a Peppermint White (Chocolate) Mocha. For tea lattes, they have items like a Chai Latte, Matcha Latte, and even a few variations of those. The first time we went (last year), we got hot drinks. This most recent time we went (a couple days ago) we went with iced lattes. The wifey ordered the Rose Lavender, and I got the French Vanilla latte. We both loved our drinks, and were very happy with our decisions. It's only a difference of $0.50 to go from small (12oz.) to large (16oz.) and +$1 to have an alternative milk. We love to use oat milk, as it helps create an extra creamy drink. While they don't typically have their own cold foam per-se, they were able to add some of the whipped mascarpone from the tiramisu latte on top. Honestly this was the perfect topper to an already incredibly creamy and delicious drink. They also added some dried rose petals to the lavender one, which was a nice aesthetic. FOOD: There are just a few options, including various croissants and vegan pastries. They don't have a full kitchen, so the stuff isn't freshly made in-house. For the animal friends in your life, they also offer a Puppaccino for $1! OVERALL: This is definitely a place worth stopping for some quality coffee. They generally have 2 people working, unless one's on break or something. The service is pretty casual, and can take a while if there's a line. They take an order, then make the drink. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming, and this is definitely a place we have added to the rotation during our annual holiday trip! IG: @bbnem.eats
