More filling than typical at other places and at least it was contained inside the pastry. A lot of times it will seep out and burn in the oven so that was nice. We went to Java for breakfast and got a Salmon Bagel, avocado toast and 2 smoothies. The salmon Bagel was good, I thought. The avocado toast lacked of flavor, it did not have spices, salt or anything on it, which we were surprised by and didn't end up finishing it. The smoothies were great. The service was alright but not the warmest. The main reason I removed 2 stars is for the price. This is the most expensive breakfast we've had on the island and if we put the quality next to the price, I am not sure it's worth it. It's mid. Guy taking my order looked like he hated his job, the egg sandwich was pretty but was dry. Wish it had some sort of aioli or something. Cholula sauce made it slightly better. Gf ordered the special sandwich and a cold brew. It was not packed or busy at all but they didn't give her the cold brew. She waited really long to get her sandwich and they forgot to put tomato and avocado in it. We needed to remind them to get her the cold brew. While you might shy away from a strip mall cafe that attracts the tourists like me, Java offers everything you might need from food to coffee to free wifi. the vibe is a blend of local and modern, the service is excellent and the food is great. I most recently had the smoked salmon bagel (pictured) and, upon my first bite, audibly reacted to its tasty goodness. Wifi is free and good enough, but not super strong. There is plenty of seating, inside and out, and there are a few power outlets if you need them. read more

They also are fast with the service which was paramount because I was starving. The pastries all looked great. We had two breakfast sandwiches which were both good. Very fresh ingredients. And the flowers on the plates were a nice touch. Drip coffee was quite strong, according to hubs. My decaf cappuccino was the best I've had in the islands. First time in and it was a cute little cafe with outdoor seating. I ordered the egg sandwich (without spinach) with a Bliss pressed juice (in their case ready to go). The juice is delish!! Total BLISS! The egg sandwich was really beautifully made - presentation was great! I was pleasantly surprised to see two eggs on the sandwich and it had salt and pepper on it... YES!!!! So many times I order an egg sandwich (my favorite) and it has absolutely no seasoning... thank you, Java Cafe, for seasoning the egg sandwich! I absolutely loved this cafe. It's such a cute vibe with lots of menu and drink options. I came hère this morning for breakfast and had a hard time deciding what to get. I got the avocado toast which was fresh and delicious. I also tried their chocolate croissants which were so good. I liked this place because of their variety of pastries and breakfast items. They also have a Nutella croissant which looked amazing. The only thing that I didn't like is that I had to wait about 30 minutes to get the food which was a long time for avocado toast with no other customers in the cafe. First morning In Maui and we were ready at 6 am, we needed coffee and so just randomly chose this place . The pastries is to die for , it's so good. The cinnamon rolls taste like cronuts and the frosting is not sweet but like cream cheese. And the croissant with creamy fillings is just perfect. Very freshly made. Just a girl on a mission for great Maui coffee! This place is fantastic! Super cute and quiet lobby, seemed very clean. They have a fridge next to the register full of fresh made juices in mason jars! All sound super delicious and there's a lot of choices. There's even an entire smoothie bar on the other side of the lobby! So many options! The pastry case looks out of this world, so many delicious treats to choose from and it smells like heaven. If you're in the mood for a meal they have that too! From wraps to sandwiches all are delicious and well made. I went several times here just because I was so impressed every time I left. The first time I went I got a large iced latte with honey and coconut, it was to die for! My partner got a café au lait and said the coffee was delicious! The second time my partner and I got the same drinks and it was just as delicious as the day previous. But we added a smoked salmon wrap, it was perfect! I came back today to give the coffee another try. And I like Blueberry Muffins and was hoping to find some.. They don't have a muffin like that and I chose coffee cake that was cut from a standing cake on a plate. . Prob was a lot more moist early. Now it was one pm. The coffee was better with the coffee cake but it was actually dried out. I ate it anyway, think it was 4.00 plus So it was good enough. But not to do twice.
