They were really nice, and they have quite a fan club judging from the line at the drive through. It's not easy to find if you aren't local, so they all knew what they wanted. We got specialty iced coffees, thinking we'd go with what seemed to be their thing. They were sweet drinks and pretty caffeinated. Certainly kept us going! read more

Kraken Coffee is a food truck trailor near some other food trucks. It's cute because you can either walk up or drive up! My husband got the cold brew and I got the MochaWao. Both were really good! Kraken Coffee is located in a back lot of Azeka Shopping Center. To get here, you will need to drive into the plaza and head towards the back. There will be a path on gravel roads to the food truck area with parking. The various food trucks surround the dining area where tables and covers are set up. If you prefer to stay in your car, there is also a drive-thru. The baristas were very nice and courteous. We ordered the MoChaWao (white chocolate macadamia nut latte) and the Haleakalatte (rich caramel latte). Both drinks were very tasty but if we had to choose one to order again, it would definitely be the MoChaWao! read more

Kraken Coffee sits in a charming little food truck hub. It was blazing hot, so my partner and I grabbed a medium piña colada smoothie and a locally sourced strawberry kombucha. The piña colada was a hit -- creamy, cold, and tasty. The strawberry kombucha tasted exactly like you'd hope, bright and strawberry-forward with that pleasant kombucha tang. Refreshing, a little bitter, and it wasn't super burpy like some big-name brands back home, which I appreciated. Prices landed around $12 to $14 for the two drinks, which felt fair for Maui. I had to try this coffee since it was highly rated. I will say, it was the best I tried while on the island. It's a stationary mobile cart near several other good trucks. They have one side designated for drive-through and the other side for walk ups. I ended up getting a caramel iced latte large. The drink stayed consistent throughout my sips. This could be due to the iced coffee ice cubes. The service was OK, didn't really stand out. Not much communication so service was just OK. read more

I got the mochawaow and it was really good. It's supposed to be a white chocolate macadamia nut latte and although I wish it was a bit sweeter overall it was still really good and hit the spot in the morning. Next time I think I'll add an extra pump of white chocolate just to give it a little more kick and then they'll be absolutely perfect. I was so excited to try Kraken coffee on our visit to Maui but unfortunately our experience fell a bit short in terms of the coffee we got here - maybe it was an off day, an off brew, or maybe we just ordered the wrong things. I had a black nitro iced coffee, which came with virtually no ice (the few pieces in there melted within a minute of getting the cup from the truck) and was - as someone who enjoys most coffee black to enjoy the flavors/notes of the coffee - not my favorite cup of iced coffee. My friend got an oat milk cappuccino which also fell short from his end. Just to be clear, we were very happy with the service experience. I don't want to take anything away from that standpoint. I'm so glad we stopped at Kraken Coffee on our way back from snorkeling! I was fading fast after a morning of sun and ocean, and Kraken truly brought me back to life. This location was just a drive-through food truck and there was no line to order. I got the Surfs Up (a special, I think) and it was amazing. They seem quite popular as a line started forming when we were there on a Monday morning. You have the option of adding coffee ice cubes to your drink which I've never heard of and love. Extra caffeine for the day. The chai option had great flavor. They offer many non dairy milk options-oat, almond, coconut. My husband was happy with his frappe abomination but they also have lots of espresso drinks in addition to the fun ones. I think I saw an Oreo frappe option. Service was great. read more

Cool spot with the other food trucks. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet. There was a couple in front of us and then we ordered. Coffee was good, but boy did it take a long time. Sadly, by the time my espresso came out it had already turned bitter. My wife's and sister in laws cold mixed drinks were tasty and refreshing. I was just disappointed it took nearly 10 minutes to get some bitter espresso, that is something I expect from Starbucks, not a local shop. Y'all they make their iced drinks with coffee ice cubes (so your drink doesn't get diluted with water), a nice touch that I've yet to see at any local coffee shop I've been to.
