Pro tip: Order promptly and don't ask any questions! I came the first time and did just that and tried the Kreme De Kona and LOVED the coffee (I like mine a little sweet). So I came back another day to buy a coffee for myself and others and unfortunately found out that the negative reviews for customer service are true. When I asked if they had a light roast Americano per my mom's request, she mumbled the answer as if I was annoying her by asking. Then, wanting to try something new and Hawaiian for myself, I asked if she recommended the Java Lava or the Mehune more. To this she rolled her eyes and scoffed and didn't answer at all as she made a drink. I felt like I had done something wrong and awkwardly said I guess I'll do the Java lava then. Last time I was in Hawaii, I felt much more peacefulness all around--totally different from Los Angeles where I live. I don't mind if the coffee line takes a little longer because we are all on island time. But I don't want to feel like I am in an episode of Seinfeld and committing some grave sin by simply asking a couple questions. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this coffee shop, but unfortunately the customer service was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the woman behind the counter was rude and unwelcoming. Even my 4-year-old daughter happily said "Aloha," and she didn't acknowledge her or respond in any way. It was such a simple opportunity to be kind, especially to a child. When my husband politely asked what non-dairy milk options were available, instead of answering, she rolled her eyes and said, "Order, and I'll tell you if it's available or not." We were honestly shocked by the attitude. To make matters worse, my iced latte was overly sweet and barely cold. It tasted like old, day-old coffee rather than something freshly made. We came in excited to support a local business, but between the poor customer service and disappointing drinks, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. I rarely give a two-star review, especially to a place I've always loved, but this rating was earned. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is that the drinks were pretty good. We ordered three, although mine was overwhelmingly sweet. The real issue was the customer service. We came here because we love the brand and have always enjoyed the coffee, but the woman working behind the counter seemed unhappy that customers had even walked in. She was so rude to my wife and daughter that I was genuinely appalled. We spent $39 on three drinks and a donkey magnet, and even left a generous tip, only to be treated as though we were unwelcome. Today was my first time stopping into this local coffee shop. I've been wanting to grab a coffee here since I found out about them on Instagram. The man working was super friendly. And it seemed like they get familiar with their regulars. So it was very inviting seeing how he interacted with other customer espically regulars! The coffee tastes like strong Kona coffee. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was the best one I had my entire trip. I get coffee daily while on vacation and they delivered plus once we ordered he was fast. We stumbled onto this place when I were vacationing in Hawaii. I love coffee and was hitting up all the little shops to find the best one. Bad ass coffee is a small shop, but very welcoming. Came across this cute little spot on my morning walks in Maui, with such a fun shop name, I had to try! I stopped in twice, my first time I had the Beach Bliss which was an iced latte with White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut. My second time I stopped in for a Toffee Bar, an iced latte with Dark Chocolate, Toffee and Hazelnut. I definitely enjoyed both drinks very much, tasty and refreshing, perfect for a warm day. Pricing is pretty average, pretty good for Hawaii actually. There was 1 only gal working, both making the drinks and running the cash wrap (girl power). She was quite quick on her feet, don't let the line scare you, she knows what she's doing. There is no indoor seating, they had a couple tables outside and standing bar tables that faces Honokowai Beach Park and the ocean beyond that. Perfect spot to sip, take a breath and a view. Inside, is tons or merchandise, hats, stickers tumblers, t-shirts and coffee beans/grounds, an awesome place to pick up coffee AND souvenirs. I loved this company back in the 90's, probably because of the name alone, so when I saw it here in Lahaina, I had to come check it out. What surprised me the most was how much I liked the coffee. Found this little coffee place on the West Coast of Maui several years ago when we visited. Love the coffee there and on a return trip, made sure to hit it up again. When a family member visited about a year ago, they brought back some Keurig cups of their coffee, which was awesome! I was able to look them up online and order some more of these Keurig cups along with several different flavors. It is a little expensive, but then again, it's being shipped from Maui. Nevertheless, will still continue to purchase coffee from them and mix in with our regular Costco Keurig cups that we get. read more

They sold some single origin coffee which I grabbed a bag of to bring home. I bought an ube caffe latte and a medium roast brewed coffee, both of which were fairly priced and were so good I didn't get a picture of either of them. Best coffee on Maui. Tried a few different coffee shops on Maui and this was by far the best. I got an iced macadamia nut latte (probably 4 or 5 over the week) and it was amazing. Small location, but very efficient for a solo operation. Seating is outside only. If you're into coffee shop merchandise there's plenty to choose from. Nice smooth latte. On the mainland it's been rare to find many coffee shops in my travels to carry banana syrup. Many baristas have told me they don't like working with it. I'm not sure if banana syrup is more common in Hawaii, but it was nice to see it as an option. Before swinging over next door to Pao Bakery be sure to grab a coffee. Generally, really love this place. There was always a long line and only one person taking orders and making drinks. But she was extremely kind, and the coffee was very tasty. My husband got the Maple wave iced coffee, and I got the coconut macadamia iced latte. Both were delicious! Very sweet so if you like sweet coffee, their specialty drinks are delicious. Otherwise, I probably would've gotten fewer pumps of syrup next time. It's a very cute little coffee shop with tons of knickknacks and things to purchase.
