On vacation was greeted very enthusiastically. I wasn't quite sure about Hawaiian coffee, but I knew the ratings were good here. The owner was there guiding her new barista's. She was very sweet and professional and nice. The flat white I had was excellent. Had great flavor to it and everyone else that got the other drinks loved it. Would highly recommend in the Wailea area.
A great find for excellent espresso to kick off my day. There are all types of beverages available- smoothies, lattes, cold brews and other hot/iced drinks to keep you busy for days. The food menu looked really good too. The hours are 6 to 6 which makes this cafe a perfect lunch or after beach place for a bite and drink.
This coffee shop was AMAZINGLY delicious! Located in Kihei, Maui! This hidden gem serves up some of the best locally roasted coffee beans and specialty drinks on the island- Kraken signature drinks (served hot or cold) include lattes, frappes, cold brews, and smoothies. Service was exceptionally great! Staff made some really good recommendations! And the Aloha vibe was chill, laid back, and relaxing! This coffee shop featured a drive-thru option which made for quick, on-the-go service (we made plenty of stops throughout our trip). As a matter of fact, I think we pretty much tried everything on the menu! Overall, we had a great experience!
Loved the drive up experience and the coffee did not disappoint. I tried the sunken treasure latte of the month and asked for a reduction on the sweet side. It was perfection in a cup. Thank you!
Great coffee place. Nice and clean. The baristas were friendly and gave a great recommendation. Today we got the Golden Tide Latte with white mocha instead of cinnamon. And the barista was able to make it a frappe. You can have it hot or iced as well.
I stopped by here yesterday for my morning coffee. Whenever I go on vacation I try to hit up a new coffee shop every morning and on this day I headed over to Kraken Coffee in Wailua Gateway. While I have been to a couple of other Kraken locations before, including the day before, this one was different as it was an actual storefront in a strip mall instead of a food truck. They also sell shave ice here. With it being a storefront, they had a decent amount of seating along with a clear ordering area. For my coffee on this morning I went with a large Surf's Up cold brew, which the menu described as coconut mac nut with a sweet foam topper. Since I had run 17 miles earlier in the day, I was also hungry and their jalapeño cheddar bagel caught my eye, so I ordered one of those as well. It did not take long before I had both my drink and food and was headed back to my car. As soon as I got in, I dug in. When I first opened the bagel it looked a little overdone, but there was no bitterness from the darker parts and it actually ended up being cooked perfectly. As for the coffee, I could not get enough of it. The coconut mac nut cold brew was strong with a bit of earthiness from the mac nut and some sweetness from the coconut. The sweet foam was the real standout though as I loved both the texture and the added sweetness. Paired with the bold coffee, it worked really well and I finished it quickly. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my bagel and coffee were good and I would also be interested in trying their shave ice next time.
I love that Kraken has a location in Wailea. They have a legit brick and mortar and there isn't a drive through, but you can order ahead and pick it up. I got an iced dirty chai and it was spicy and delicious. They have plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. Great coffee and great vibes.
Love this coffee. We had originally tried Kraken Coffee at their food truck location. So glad they opened this location. Ambiance is relaxed, extremely original decorated and gives an elegant vibe. Customer Service is great. You can order at the self order kiosk or at the counter. They have very interesting coffee options, frappes and the classic coffees. We ordered the Dirty Iced Kraken Chai, Oreo Smoothie and a Dirty Iced Matcha. All made to perfection. Prices are very reasonable for the great quality of each drink. A must to try here in Maui. The place is clean and located in a shopping with parking. There are tables to sit in the place.
*Update - best coffee on the island* So glad I stopped into this location!! Delicious, smooth, strong and creamy coffee. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and had great recommendations for what I was looking for. Try the Surf's Up you won't be disappointed. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to stop in
Cute little coffee shop. The coffee is smooth and not too bitter at all. I was impressed for sure. They have a few snacks and things I didn't get the chance to try but as far as coffee I definitely recommend!
A much needed coffee spot in South Maui! Great to have a local business grow and create community around good coffee and the best banana bread. Really enjoyed the staff here too!
My husband and I have been going to the Kraken trucks for several years. We were so excited to see a new brick and mortar store pop up near The Monkeypod Kitchen in Wailea. When we walked in, both the gentleman working there happily greeted us. Matt shared that they've only been there a couple weeks and they haven't had an official grand opening yet. Their current temporary hours are 7am-2pm but you may be able to catch them open later. (We went at 4:30 yesterday and they were still open.) I've tried many of their popular coffees--they're all a hit but I personally love their iced mochas the best. To me, the mochas are a little tangy or something, which I love. My husband loves their cold brew and nitro. If you're in the Wailea area, come here for your coffee needs!

Seriously, this is the only place you should be getting your coffee. The medium roast smells wonderful and the flavors of the lattes really come out in their drinks. Really cool vibe too I tried a couple other places when I got here, one that had a really good review but it just tasted slightly watered down. Found a yelper than had been to the one that I went to as well as kraken and since her review was spot of for the other, I was excited to try the one that she recommended. She was right, this place just hits the spot and has great options for drinks and food. I've been three days in a row now and I'm trying to figure out how to get this drink at home. I'll miss it for sure read more

Ordered a POG shave ice with snow cap sweet milk for a sweet treat after eating next door. Not the best shave ice as it tasted like a version you get from a carnival. I heard their coffee is good, but avoid the shave ice. read more

Was already a fan of the coffee and now I love the new shop where you can sit down in AC and enjoy your coffee. With an actual shop they are able to offer more options than their drive thru coffee trucks. More food items and even shave ice. I love the decor and friendly service. Great location read more

What a treat! The Wailea shop is immersed in Kraken decor. Staff was wonderful, even though some were being trained. The coffee, even better. We got the Haleakalatte. Because they make coffee ice cubes, it doesn't get watered down. Wish I could get this every day! read more
