This a food safety and professionalism issue from 3/23/25 @5PM:…read more A fly was crawling around on my salad while I was waiting to pay. When I notified the staff member who was making the salads, she replaced a part of the salad instead of remaking it and continued using the same gloves afterward. I clarified that fly was one more than that one spot and asked for a new salad please. She appeared visibly frustrated. I did not mind waiting until the person behind me was finished being helped, especially since she was the only other person in line. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I understand that situations like this can happen. However, proper food safety protocol would require discarding the contaminated item and changing gloves before preparing new food. This was not done. While remaking the salad, she whispered to a coworker, who then looked at me and laughed. That really topped of my experience. So my question is would you want to eat that salad?

I usually have my 2 go to's. I do love the Lemon & Thyme Chicken Sandwich (you can ask for it to be in a wheat wrap with no extra cost or Gluten Free wrap which would cost extra). If you opt for the wrap, there's no side salad but if you opt for the sandwich, they should include the side salad and a side of Kimchee Banana peppers. I usually ask for more because portions can be small. The ciabatta bread the sandwich comes in is freshly made on island but can be huge and even if I cut it in half, everything starts falling out so I prefer the wrap at times. The Ancient Grain bowl is my other go to. It's basically a Greek Salad but with Quinoa and Red Cabbage and it comes with Tzatziki sauce and a Lemon Herb vinaigrette. If you love soup, there's a Butternut Squash that's quite addicting, Tomato Bisque that tastes delicious like a Marinara sauce and if I need some protein, I opt for the Lamb Chili. Always ask for a side of Gluten Free or Sourdough bread! The staff here is always so friendly and accommodating. If it wasn't for the point system with my phone number linked, I don't think I'd come here as much. When I accumulate points, I'll usually hit the first tier and get a free cookie or free lemonade to redeem but I've also gotten a free salad too without protein if I eat here more often.

I've tried a lot of pastries, but this is officially my favorite croissant spot. George surprised…read moreme with breakfast in bed this morning from Momona and I'm always blown away. We had the Nutella and the Lilikoi, and they are absolute units--massive, beautiful and perfectly executed. The pastry is light and incredibly fluffy, but stays dense and decadent because they don't skimp on the filling (it's actually in the center, not just a garnish on top!). The Lilikoi was a total standout--bright, fresh, and perfectly tart. I found myself breaking off the flaky layers just to dip them into that golden center. If they sold it in jars, I'd be the first in line. If you're looking for the best bakery on the island, this is it! XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

I thought the shape of this croissant was funny and I did want to try something guava. I did find it to be dry and quite bready? I've never had the cube croissant before so perhaps this is just the style of them. I liked the guava filling but thought the cube croissant part was okay. It did seem like this one had more dough than filling. - Lilikoi Croissant (between $6 and $7) - I found that this croissant was not really flaky. There was a really good filling to croissant ratio in this one. However, I did appreciate the strength of the lilikoi flavor in this croissant, and the filling did taste fresh. - Macadamia Nut Latte ($6.85)- we both got ours iced, 12 ounce and with regular milk. We honestly enjoyed these lattes more than the croissants. The macadamia flavor came through quite strong (in a good way) and was pretty unique. There is a small parking lot and lots of seating inside. We saw a couple chickens wandering around outside when we grabbed our pastries.

Late night lifesaver review…read more Shoutout to The Local Bread Company because they really understood the assignment. I grabbed their bourgeois pizza and it was everything you want in a pizza -- crispy crust, loaded toppings, and the kind of bite that makes you pause for a second like "yeah... this was the right decision." But honestly, they deserve their flowers for something else too... they saved me at 2AM once. True story: I DoorDashed a pizza AND a sandwich from Wailuku all the way to Kihei because when the late-night hunger hits, you start making bold life decisions. And when you realize they're basically the only place open from 9PM to 1PM the next day, suddenly it makes perfect sense. Listen... if you've ever ordered food from Wailuku to Kihei at 2 in the morning, just know you're not alone. We're all just doing our best out here. Late night MVP on Maui.

If you're taking it to go, they wrap everything up so nicely for you. If you're eating there they hand walk your order out to you, wrapped nicely for easy eating! I have been wanting to try their pizza so I got the Margherita. Guys...I was blown away at how epic it was. I feel like a Margherita is the true test of a good pizza because you aren't hiding behind a bunch of toppings. It's just purely simple pizza that highlights the quality of your ingredients. The crust was crunchy yet doughy and light on the inside. The sauce and cheese, perfectly balanced. Just Chef's Kiss. Today, my friend tried their special, the hot honey sausage pizza. I didn't try it because I'm allergic to pork, but she said it was awesome! We can't wait to try more of their creations!

I am the biggest fan of fried chicken sandwiches!!!! This was one of the best fried chicken…read moresandwiches I have ever had. Just look at the photos this chicken and the bun was huge. It was the size of a small infant head! Let's just start off by saying this was the last day on our trip in Maui and I just wanted something quick and easy and on the cheaper side cause everything has been so expensive. So I looked up the food court and saw that this place had numerous different types of dishes and restaurants within the shopping mall. There's nothing really fancy about this food hall, it pretty much looks like a cafeteria. We come from San Francisco so we're used to food halls being fancy five star blah blah blah. This is definitely a bang for your buck kind of place. I could see that a lot of locals come to this place for lunch as well. Walking up to the chicken restaurant I walked up to a kiosk and ordered my food through there. It was about 15 minutes. I wanted to say until I got my food and when I saw it, my eyes grew so big! The chicken was so moist, and there was so much flavor that it was like bing bang in my mouth. I got mine very spicy so definitely if you're looking for spice to order it spicy. All I can say if you want a quick lunch that is delicious and appropriately priced come check this place out and have yourself a chicken sandwich!

It's usually hard for me to pick something out of a line up of restaurants I've already tried before. So this time was easy. A name I didn't recognize appeared on my screen. Plus since I always want to try something new. Let's see what Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken has to offer this not so hangry yet, girl. So far so good, their stock photos look appetizing. I already picked out a list of items I'd like to try like the: Chicken Sando, Chicken Fingers, Chicken Wrap, Loaded Fries, Salad w/ Chicken Breast as well as the Loaded Mac & Cheese. As for my first visit I chose to try the Loaded Fries with Medium heat & my fiancé chose the Chicken Bites in Mild. Just to be on the safe side when trying out new restaurants as to what they consider to be spicy. I'll usually start in the middle & work my way up on spice. Mild or medium didn't have that kick I was looking for so I'll try hot on my next visit. Just not sure which item will win my pick just yet. However I am a fan of their logo & overall atmosphere. It's a fun restaurant to order at. They have 3 self serve kiosks to order from. The two on the outside are for ordering Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken & the one in the middle is for ordering off of the dessert menu. Which being that I'm usually not one to order soda. I was extremely excited to have an option to order a Thai Tea Boba from here too. So there's still plenty from their treat menu that I'm eager to try as well. My only suggestion I can think of is maybe having different size options to choose from. Cause my loaded fries came in a massive box. It was enough to feed me for 3 meals, breakfast, lunch & dinner. Dating tips: If you're on a budget take your light eater here for an inexpensive date & just take your leftovers to go. Overall my first experience was a good one & I'll work on getting my spicy lovers to sample Angry Hot. Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher
