First of all I love the food and I really hate to leave a bad review but today 6-24-25 I've had the worst experience at Jersey Mike's Ho'okele. Not only did I get my food after the 8 people inline after me but. The workers are very unsanitary. One worker chewing on Beetlenut while taking orders and making sandwiches, 2 other workers cutting bread on the counter and another one using the only chopping board visible and to top it off they're cutting all the meats and cheese with the same meat slicer without washing it ( Cross Contamination) Not once have I seen them change there gloves. Love this place! Prefer it much better than the Maui Lani location. I come here at least once a month and the sandwiches are always great quality. I've only tried hot subs and it has yet to disappoint. The sandwich is always loaded, hot, and fresh. Definitely recommend ordering ahead so you can just walk up. Sometimes if you go during peak hours, the wait can be forever. I did notice, if you order ahead, if it's a hot sub, they keep it on the warmer so you have to let them know. Otherwise if it's a cold sub, it should be waiting for you on the rack by the door. There are lots of parking stalls available, but can get tricky if Starbucks is busy since it's in the corner. You get better Service at McDonald's placed an order online waited an extra 30 mins after it said it was ready. The workers pay no attention to online orders just let them sit behind the register. Guy behind the counter was pretty rude, maybe he was frustrated, seems like the other employees were maybe new but your job is customer service. I've now been here more then once, so this review is due. People have mentioned about things taking long & service, but it's been fine when I've gone. They were quick to take my order & freshly cut the meat. Yum, I like that it's done that way.My favorite at the moment is the Italian. Lots of those salty meats (ham, cappacuolo, salami pepperoni) & provolone cheese. Bread is also nice & soft. Get it Mike's way of course is the only option. I swear the very first time I went, there was no mini size, but now it seems to be an option on some of the sandwiches, which is the perfect size. Sign up for their loyalty program as you get a free regular size & drink on your birthday. You have a year to redeem it. Yes, they are on the pricey side as the mini was $6.95, especially when you put in comparison with the $5 footlong (even though its not $5 here), but you get my point. read more

Maui's second Jersey Mike's location has opened at the Puunene Shopping Center. According to staff, locations in Kihei & Lahaina are set to open as well. ATMOSPHERE: The bright & airy space is located at the southwest corner of Pakaula & Hookele. Parking is plentiful and vehicular access is easy. Seating is small but adequate. FOOD: Grilled Pastrami Reuben - $10.95 regular size I've had this once before at the original Wailuku location. Here, it tasted just as fresh but the pastrami was a bit dry. Even the bread that I've come to love was a tad bit parched, though not enough to sway me from ever returning. Being about 8" in length, I couldn't finish the sandwich as I was also having some soup with it at home. In general, a very good version. SERVICE: My spouse has been in here so many times that a first name was used in the greeting. LOL. They've had a few boo boo's with past orders but nothing extreme. OVERALL: I still get a kick out of their limited topping selections compared to Subway. They're a bit pricey but it doesn't get any fresher than their deli-cut meats. read more

I've been to Jersey Mikes several times. This sandwich shop really needs to step it up when it comes to dealing with regular customers and all! I recently went back and was not greeted, that often happens, the staff lacks any kind of service, customer service/people skills! They just make a face and you have to greet them and say you would like this or that. They lack communication and they simply don't care nor want to be there! At the end of my order. I ordered a diet drink and so I get to the fountain and the mgr completely acted like a bozo! I mentioned the Diet Pepsi was coming out just water and he said u can get a bottle from the fridge. I had paid the price for a large 32 oz and he just acted like he didn't care and it was not a big deal. Then I said I did not want that barely wanted to process my refund and he added on the note that the Diet Coke was out for the second time. Then it was time to get my sandwich. The woman I had asked to cut it into three pieces, called my name and I was ready to grab the sandwich and she snatched it from counter instead of saying anything that she should've said, took it out of the bag, and wrapper, and then she cut it up making a face, instead of saying sorry, I forgot to cut it, she just snatched it so rudely. Long over due review, but after the poor experience near my local Jersey Mikes, I just had to let others know that this is legit! Workers were attentive and food was made fresh with care. I actually bought the sub with the intention of taking it the following day for a long drive and it was so well made that the sub survived the fridge until the morning on our road trip. I didn't order any of the "wet" ingredients to prevent making the sub soggy the next day, and my meal was so excellent. Tried this place a few times, a step above a subway which reflects in their prices. And yes they do make some really good sandwiches and some bad ones. I've tried their new Portabella mushroom cheese steak (I'd say they where cremini mushrooms) with swiss, bacon ranch chicken cheese steak, and turkey sub and they where all delicious. Would definitely order again. But their grilled portabella mushroom with swiss was a sad sad sandwich. I really wish I took pictures it looked so good online. Sadly it was about 6 small cremini mushroom sautéed with a few onions an bell pepper. It was more bread then anything. And their subs are not cheap, so I was even more disappointed. I've been to both locations and both locations left me feeling the same way: it's okay. Yes, the bread is tasty and meat might be cut fresh... but... it's not amazing. Not for $11 per sandwich. In fact, I thought the turkey was a bit too salty. I don't care that it's "not like Subway". I know that this isn't Subway. The fixings they offer are fine, and they are willing to adjust their menu to suit your tastes. Do you want bacon? No problem. Do you want avocado? Sure. Do you want no mayo? You got it. It just sometimes comes at a little extra cost. For a lower cost, you can get an excellent sandwich plate at Stillwell's in Wailuku, a local place, in business for over 20 years. Been to two of the Jersey Mike's since they opened. First one across from Safeway and now this one. Stoked to see them open and always wanted to try them. So glad that I did because These sammiches take the cake!! Even if I have to drive out of my way these are legit. The one near Safeway location was clean and plenty of aloha! Sandwiches are big enough to share and have hot or cold kin. This location is in the corner of the parking lot but is clean as well. Only complaint I have is one toilet for everyone. So I had to wait awhile to use while doin the pee dance..can't imagine if I had a kid. They probably woulda peed themselves waiting, but I digress. The sammich was good we got a hot chicken cheesesteak and added guacamole. Good experience here aside from the bathroom situation. read more

Jersey Mike's makes a good sandwich. BUT, this location I'm Kahului has issues, several of them. Having given up ordering in-person due to a general feeling of chaos behind the counter, I began to order online. Nope. This method is even worse than ordering in-person. Theoretically, you order and pay online, you arrive at the stated time, grab your sandwich from the online designated area, and out the door you go. Not so fast. Nine times out of ten your order will not be ready even if you arrive more than ten-minutes past the designated pick-up time. Today, I ordered online. The online area was devoid of any orders. Walking to the register area I wait. And I wait. I counted eight people behind the line. Chaos. Not one person acknowledges me. I ask for the manager. Tony was his name. I explained that not one of his workers helped me. Not one. This is not an anomaly in this store. There is general chaos whenever I visit. Lots of confusion amongst the workers as to which sandwich is going where. Most distressing is their online system once you arrive at the store for pick-up. Beyond the quick moving line and cooled interior, there was not much to be impressed about with Jersey Mike's Subs. I got the hot vegetarian sandwich and if you can visualize warm bread with lettuce this is what the sandwich tasted like. I'm not sure if maybe it was a one time occurrence and it was made incorrectly but my sub was messy to handle and didn't have any sort of ingredient to add flavoring (for reference, veggie sandwiches usually include some kind of sauce to balance with the dullness of the bread and veggies). They had also run out of every bread except for white bread which did not put them at the best odds. Customer service was okay. Would only recommend if you need to grab a bite in a pinch of time, as we did on our visit. read more

I thought this was supposed to be a fast-food​ restaurant so with the lunch hour long past, and hunger gnawing at our bellies we decided to give Jersy Mikes a try. There were a couple of people ahead of us but the line​ was moving quickly. There were 5 people working, four in the front and one in the back. All signs looked good for a quick tasty sub. My husband and I both ordered a cheesesteak-straight off the menu -no additions, ​no modifications.​ As I stood in line waiting to pay and get my drink, sandwiches were going out. Then the waiting began, we waited​ and waited and waited. 5 minutes went by, then 10 minutes, multiple orders went out including a customer who was behind me in line, although he brought one sandwich back because it wasn't his.​ I said loudly to my husband" Maybe that's​ one of our sandwiches​?"At this point,​ the cashier asked what our name and order was​, she went back to the flattop, spoke with the person​ cooking and then came back and told my husband they were "cooking the onions", and that they had "a really big internet order" that was ahead of us. She said it was almost ready and asked my husband if he would like a cup for water? Really after 10 minutes, you offer a glass of water? How about a drink, ​or bag of chips, or better yet, an apology? I never saw a really big order get​ picked up or sitting behind the counter​. It took​ the end,​ it took another 10 minutes before we received​ our order over 20 minutes from the time we paid. Most importantly we received​ it without​ an apology. That is no way to treat a customer. Is that how they do it in Jersey? I would also like to add that the dining area was a mess, tables and chairs were dirty, customers were wiping them down with napkins and no one​ came and cleaned them the entire time​ we were there. I wondered what the 5th person in the back was doing that was so important? Was she the manager and if so why wasn't she checking in upfront​? Why was it taking 4 people 20 minutes to make a few cheesesteaks​? The sandwiches were hot, ​the cheese melted, the onions were cooked, the peppers were not, and the predominant flavor was salt. They certainly were not worth a 20 minute wait. ​The whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Maybe we hit them at the wrong time and circumstances screwed up our order. It was pretty obvious our order was lost and re-fired​ after we com​plained, but damn if they were going to take any responsibility and apologize. 0 stars​ for service, 1 star for a hot sandwich. read more

The people who work here are very unreliable with the making of any grilled sandwich they forgot to add cheese to my sandwich, And the sandwich had cheese in the name of the sandwich so I really don't know how they forgot that.
