This is the sign that was up when I got there at 9:36ish. I walked up to check the hours bc drive through was coned off and closed.

I know it's a fast food chain but this location is just....not that great. Half the time their dining area is closed due to short staffing...I've ordered ahead via mobile, go there to pick up but still have to go through drive through bc the dining area is closed. What's the point of having mobile order available if I still have to go in through the drive through and wait? Whenever they have this issue there is always a sign that says "dining area closed due to short staffing". Also, I went there in the evening about 9:30 a few nights ago. I checked on google before I went and it says they close at 11. I get there and it is completely shut down...at 9:30 pm?? There was a sign saying "lobby is closed at 8 tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience". K fine but why is drive through closed too? I don't understand how such a franchise as McDonald's can operate as such. I truly hope the employees are being treated fairly. If it's always half open or not open when it should...something is not right. Genuinely concerned about working conditions there.

This Kehalani restaurant is the newest Golden Arches to grace Maui, having opened around 2015 or so. They're located in the Kehalani Village Center in Wailuku which also includes a Foodland, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and an upcoming credit union. FACILITIES: Like other newer McD's, they feature dual drive-thru lanes that merge into one, two parking stalls reserved for mobile ordering and a modern dining room (though currently closed due to the pandemic). Parking is adequate though some stalls can be impeded if the drive thru backs up. SERVICE: I did a mobile order but prefer to go inside the restaurant to pick up my food rather than going through drive thru. A friendly gal assisted me and I could tell she was a newbie. I totally understand being a newbie at a job so I will never give anyone crap about it. And those of you who do, shame on you! Put yourselves in their shoes. Anyway, she called the manager over for assistance as she didn't know what to do with a mobile order after showing her my phone with the order number. I had a short maybe two minute wait as they prepared my food which gave me the opportunity to check out the inside and snap a pic. After receiving my Portuguese Sausage Eggs & Rice platter (a Hawaii-exclusive selection) and free iced coffee (deal of the day) I noticed there was no shoyu in the package so I asked the girl for some. Poor thing didn't know where it was so she had to ask her manager again. The shoyu was eventually found, LOL! OVERALL: We need another McD's like we need another hole in the head, but it's a nice addition to the area as the original Wailuku location a mile away is very busy and congested.

Love dat chocolate dipped cone! Just ($1.97) in Wailuku.

I don't know about you folks, but there are a few things I like about da Golden Arches...........they are - 1. I really love the taste of an Egg McMuffin! And for a buck.........the coffee ain't too shabby either! 2. Of course, you can't go wrong with da the breakfast platters - Portuguese Sausage, Spam, Eggs, & Rice.........how can go wrong? Das da winning ticket my friends!!!! 3. I loved the Hot Wings (when they offered it a few years ago).......please bring it back, it was really deeeeeeelicious, and cheap too! 4. I look forward to the summers, as McD's seems to offer the Chocolate Dipped Cone during the summer months.......Love it!!! 5. Love the open fountain...........but only bad thing about it is when bums come into the restaurant & grab a dirty cup from the trash can, only to use it on the fountain. That is just totally gross! And what led me here today, was hearing about da Lobster Roll from my Yelp buddy - Nat N. Much MAHALO Nat for bringing it to my attention! Also, to my other Yelp buddy - Da "Famous Auntie - Nadine C.", much MAHALO for da tips on strategies, on how to get my Lobster roll (must go early, otherwise gonna run out!!!). I love the idea of trying something new at McD's, and hearing that the Lobster Roll was just $9.99??? How can you beat that???? Lucky for me today, I was able to eat at a reasonable time today.............so upon finishing a job at the Kehalani Village Foodland, I just took a hop, skip, & jump to across the parking lot to McDonalds to try that new Lobster Roll! Upon arriving to McD's, I see the sign posted on the window about the Lobster Roll (check!), From there, I walk into the restaurant, & was greeted right away! (check!) I then proceeded to order myself a Lobster Roll Combo ($12.99) - the combo includes a drink & fries. The girl who took my order said if I didn't want the fries, I could substitute my fries for a side salad. Of course I took da fries!!!! For dessert, I got an apple pie ($0.79), with Hawaii sales tax, the grand total of my meal was just ($14.35). Wot a Deal!!!!!. How was the grub??? To be honest with you, I gotta say the Lobster Roll was not bad at all (for $9.99)! Although they don't dunk the lobster in a buttery sauce (like the other lobster rolls I've eaten on the mainland), you really can't complain too much, since you're only paying $9.99 for the sandwich. The lobster meat was cold, and it sits on a bed of lettuce. I think there was some kinda mayo that was mixed inside of the sandwich, and the roll............it was lightly toasted, but pillowy light indeed! Awesome job with the bread roll McD's!!! So all of these positive things I said about McD's, then why just a "2" rating????? Well, I wasn't very happy with the manager's (no help) reaction today! Let me get down to business........ While I was eating my Lobster Roll today, I actually bit into a lobster shell!!! YIKES!!! Good thing I didn't chip a tooth on this lobster roll!!! At 1st I was not gonna say anything, but then I thought it would be a good idea to let the manager know, so they can at least address this, so in the near future, if McD's chooses to serve this sandwich, they will know how to properly prepare, & serve this sandwich! As I walked back to the counter to ask for a manager, the manager goes to the back, so a team member asked me what was the problem? I show her the Lobster Shell I bit into, and a few of the team members came by to apologize for the mishap. The staff even offered me another Lobster Roll, or other free food items, but I told them that I was not here to scam anyone out for free food, I just wanted to let them know when preparing a lobster roll, to be very careful and make sure shells are not in the sandwich, as somebody could get cut, or even chip a tooth!!! Unfortunately, even when a team member went to get the manager, the manager did not come out, I guess the manager was too busy to address my concerns. Having the title of "manager", one would think that they would bear the responsibilities of a bad situation, & address customers needs? No problem, at least the staff here seemed sympathetic about the mishap, and addressed my needs properly. Will I come back here to eat again? Probably, but I was just disappointed that leadership was absent when something needed to be addressed.

We had the Nutella and the Lilikoi, and they are absolute units--massive, beautiful and perfectly executed. The pastry is light and incredibly fluffy, but stays dense and decadent because they don't skimp on the filling (it's actually in the center, not just a garnish on top!). The Lilikoi was a total standout--bright, fresh, and perfectly tart. I found myself breaking off the flaky layers just to dip them into that golden center. If they sold it in jars, I'd be the first in line. If you're looking for the best bakery on the island, this is it! XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

I thought the shape of this croissant was funny and I did want to try something guava. I did find it to be dry and quite bready? I've never had the cube croissant before so perhaps this is just the style of them. I liked the guava filling but thought the cube croissant part was okay. It did seem like this one had more dough than filling. - Lilikoi Croissant (between $6 and $7) - I found that this croissant was not really flaky. There was a really good filling to croissant ratio in this one. However, I did appreciate the strength of the lilikoi flavor in this croissant, and the filling did taste fresh. - Macadamia Nut Latte ($6.85)- we both got ours iced, 12 ounce and with regular milk. We honestly enjoyed these lattes more than the croissants. The macadamia flavor came through quite strong (in a good way) and was pretty unique. There is a small parking lot and lots of seating inside. We saw a couple chickens wandering around outside when we grabbed our pastries.

Luxe Latte happened to be right around the corner from our condo so we headed on over. It is a little trailer that is basically permanently situated right outside of Maui Golf in the parking lot. I say permanent because they along with a few other trailers have it all decked out with fencing, roofing, etc. It's very close to the water, so if you sit outside of their trailer and enjoy your drink, you can hear the waves. Like everywhere we went in Maui, customer service was outstanding. People are just happy out here! We had plans to eat later, so this was just a caffeine stop. They have a pretty big menu with lots of drink options. They have coffee, tea, frappes, espresso frappes, hot chocolate, Italian cream sodas and smoothies. All their brews are freshly roasted in Maui. I like a good latte and their signature Luxe Latte looked like the move for me. It had vanilla and raw Maui honey. I got it iced as the sun was shining bright that morning. I love that they present it with a little chocolate coffee bean on top of the drink. It's like a bonus. First sip of the drink and I was in love. You can taste the quality coffee along with the raw honey and vanilla. They definitely use quality ingredients here. If hunger strikes, they do have pastry options which I am not sure if they make on their own or source it from somewhere else. This was one of many coffee stops while we were vacationing in Maui, but it was one of my favorites as well. I would totally come back next time!

There were two guys working inside and they were cranking out coffees, but the line still moved slowly, taking about 25 minutes from getting in line to getting my drink. They also seemed to know at least half the people waiting and were super friendly with everyone else. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a hot 20 oz Hapa, which was coconut and honey. My coffee here was good as I could taste the coconut first and then some sweetness from the honey. The coffee itself was definitely the star as it tasted freshly roasted and had a strong flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future.
