Stop number two after landing from the mainland. Hubby needs that jolt of caffeine to get the island vibe and I couldn't resist the chai. Why not?? So glad this place is able to withstand all of the challenges Maui has had to and continues to endure post the fire. We do our best to support local businesses and encourage you to do the same.
A drive thru location for Akamai coffee. Wanted to try their Maui drip coffee but what a downer that their machine was down and there was no other option except their regular espresso drinks on menu which was unfortunate. Tried their Americano - initial sip tasted bitter but the coffee had a smooth finish which was a delight. The longer I drank the coffee, it grew on me. What would have been an unfortunate rating changed throughout the day, and that's why it's important not to rate immediately but to allow you whole tasting and experience to sit for a bit. I still wished I could try their award winning coffee however.
If you're looking for the best coffee on Maui, go to Akamai Coffee! Visit this Kahului location if you're on the go or heading to the airport since it is a convenient mobile drive up while the 2 on the Southside where I live are dine in. My employer introduced me to them years ago because he used to treat my coworker and I to a Hawaiian Honeybee! It has espresso, coconut, vanilla and honey. One of their popular drinks but they always have a seasonal menu if you want to try! I'm a Chai fan and their homemade blend is one of my top favorites on Maui. I always add either Coconut Milk or Almond milk and enjoy it hot and cold. The only thing that keeps me from buying all the time is the price because it can get expensive. I always have to get substitute milk so my drink ends up being $7-9. The quality is definitely worth it. I wish there was Kamaaina discount offered or maybe a stamp card, then I'd probably come more often. If you want delicious food, I'd recommend their Akamai Wailea Village location. I treat myself sometimes when I got the funds. Their tomato bisque, egg toast and avocado toast are my favorite! The homemade banana bread with Chocolate chip is delish too!
I'm back in Maui and this is one of my go-to coffee shops. Today I got a Road to Hana iced latte and yes, I remembered why I love it so much. Definitely delicious, not strong, sweet. Service? Super friendly and polite, as I remembered. Now, this is a cute little drive-thru, so don't go expecting super quick, hasty service or a sit-down area. Be patient, relax. And they have a Christmas menu! I'm definitely coming back to try something from that.
We were looking for a coffee spot after the airport and our driver had told us this was a good spot. It is a drive thru, in a small kiosk, look for the Home Depot. I would suggest looking up the menu beforehand since the menu is pretty small and you can only really see it when you're at the ordering window. There wasn't a line when we arrived but we definitely felt rush trying to order. The menu is small but they do have a list of specialty drinks available. I would say this place is good for sweeter coffee options. Service was ok. The drink was ok. Overall, If you want something sweeter and not so coffee forward, this is the place.
Stopped by for an afternoon snack. The lady at the window was very friendly and handed our drinks down to our very low car. Drinks came out quickly. I got an iced latte which hit the spot.

Located in the back parking lot of Home Depot It is drive thru only but the line moves fairly steady. The drive thru window is on both sides. Ordered THE HAWAIIAN HONEYBEE - who doesn't love espresso, honey, coconut, and vanilla. Very very good!

The taste of the coffee (R2H) was watery and burnt tasting and very bitter, the flavor of the macadamia nut was not very rich and it tasted just like bitter coffee and milk. The matcha also was so light in color and did not have much matcha taste at all. The drive through was nice but the area around it smelled really bad like trash that had been sitting out for a while. The service was also lacking. We gave $15 cash for two drinks and the barista did not give us any change... we were planning to give tip anyways but were surprised at the fact that she didn't even ask if we wanted change and felt entitled to take it when we hadn't told her it was her tip.

Quick, easy and awesome! Got service with Aloha and it was my first choice for coffee in the morning. Decided to grab a ham n Swiss croissant and it added more of a great purchase. Ill be back. read more
I got the Mac nut latte and it was okay. 3.5 stars honestly. I really liked that they had a drive thru option but their oatmilk overpowered my drink and I felt like that's all I can taste. Maybe it woulda been better with another milk option. Staff was really friendly and it's a cute little hut. read more

This is a drive-thru coffee shop. The menu is fairly simple and they also have items that aren't on the main menu, but rather next to the window when you pull up. I had the Lavender London Fog iced which was so perfect for the humidity. It had a good balance of lavender and just the right amount of caffeine I needed. read more

I was having coffee withdraws after my flight and this spot definitely was the perfect pick me up! The service was quick and friendly for a drive through. Although there is now seating the area and shop was cute! Certainly grabbing another coffee before I leave!! read more

This is a tale of two very different drinks. My husband ordered the oatmilk cookie blended and I got the cold brew with white chocolate and raspberry. The oatmilk cookie drink was tasty, smooth, and delicious. You can really taste the hints of white chocolate, cinnamon, and butterscotch. I understand why this is a signature drink because it is on point The 2nd drink was a cold brew. I'm a fan of cold brews and thought I would customize it by adding white chocolate and raspberry. Bad idea! Modifying this order made the drink watery and bitter. Maybe I should have been specific as to how much syrup to add. Anyway, lesson learned to stick with the drinks on the menu as is, and you shouldn't be disappointed. read more
This is a charming little drive-up coffee truck, located in the Home Depot Parking lot in Kahului, Maui. The staff are friendly and professional. I didn't get a chance to peruse the menu as I was running late for a meeting. But the decaf oat-milk latte was hot, and as expected. I will definitely be back in my return trip to Maui. Not a fan of coffee here. My husband ordered the lavender latte hot and I order the melrose. Their was not a hint of lavender in my husbands drink. He questioned if it was even sweetened. My drink was supposed to have rose & white chocolate flavors. I tasted no hint of rose and to be honest both coffees had a sour taste. I'm not sure if this is a Hawaiian thing cause we had the same sour taste at another spot but that isn't good coffee. The service was great and I appreciate the drive thru concept for the truck. This location is drive thru only at a parking lot shared with a Home Depot. There is no seating or restrooms. If you do need to use a restroom, the Home Depot typically has one. The line moves relatively quickly. In my experience only one side was open and a staff member came out to take orders. It was our first time and she was patient and answered all our questions. I got the NOLA cold brew and it was delicious! The largest size they have is 20 ounces and they offer plant based milks. Nice alternative to Starbucks and great to support small businesses. read more
Located in the parking lot of Home Depot so super easy to find. Went around 7am and it wasn't busy at all. Ordering was easy, and the girls were very nice about recommending a good drink. I ordered the latte special, sweetened with agave. That was really good. Price is decent about $6 for a large. Anyway, I would totally recommend this for a coffee stop! read more

I always cringe a bit when I have to leave a less than stellar review, but honesty is the best policy, right? Keeping it short here, we ordered banana bread and our classic order, vanilla iced latte. The espresso in the latte was really weak and this was with me asking for a double. Also, way too much ice. Banana bread was just ok and kinda disappointing seeing how Hawaii is supposed to be know for really good banana bread. I even tried their cafe, will review separately. I would not recommend either place. Drive through was a cute concept and customer service was very pleasant. read more

The only place I actually go to to grab my coffee fix! Coffee is always on point best mocha frappe I've ever gotten always taste so amazing! Unlike some name brand companies!!! I always get the croissant turkey and cheese for my kid and some banana bread as a treat! He LOVES IT! I love the wonderful women that work here always smiling and they really give off such positive energy. Always pretty fast event if there's a line! It's right off the highway perfect for a quick stop when you don't have the time! At least I've NEVER had a problem!! read more

my first time, and I went with the Coconut Macadamia. Honestly? It left me a bit underwhelmed. The flavor wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing either. It was kind of a middle-of-the-road experience--a touch more like milk with coffee than the balanced coconut-macadamia fusion I was hoping for. That said, the staff was super friendly, which added a nice touch. Ordering is drive-thru style, since it's a food truck, so it's fast and convenient for a quick stop. I did feel the caffeine kick, so if you're looking for a wake-up call, it does the trick! I'm chalking this up to maybe just an off day for the baristas and will likely give Akamai another shot. Next time, I'll branch out and try something different on their menu. read more
A small drive up coffee stand with coffee, non caffeinated drinks, pastries, & small bites. We got a large white mocha frappe for $8, you can also add more flavors if you prefer. The service was quick and she was very friendly. The frappe was very creamy and good amount of sweet (not overly sweet!) read more
