A drive thru location for Akamai coffee. Wanted to try their Maui drip coffee but what a downer that their machine was down and there was no other option except their regular espresso drinks on menu which was unfortunate. Tried their Americano - initial sip tasted bitter but the coffee had a smooth finish which was a delight. The longer I drank the coffee, it grew on me. What would have been an unfortunate rating changed throughout the day, and that's why it's important not to rate immediately but to allow you whole tasting and experience to sit for a bit. I still wished I could try their award winning coffee however.

If you're looking for the best coffee on Maui, go to Akamai Coffee! Visit this Kahului location if you're on the go or heading to the airport since it is a convenient mobile drive up while the 2 on the Southside where I live are dine in. My employer introduced me to them years ago because he used to treat my coworker and I to a Hawaiian Honeybee! It has espresso, coconut, vanilla and honey. One of their popular drinks but they always have a seasonal menu if you want to try! I'm a Chai fan and their homemade blend is one of my top favorites on Maui. I always add either Coconut Milk or Almond milk and enjoy it hot and cold. The only thing that keeps me from buying all the time is the price because it can get expensive. I always have to get substitute milk so my drink ends up being $7-9. The quality is definitely worth it. I wish there was Kamaaina discount offered or maybe a stamp card, then I'd probably come more often. If you want delicious food, I'd recommend their Akamai Wailea Village location. I treat myself sometimes when I got the funds. Their tomato bisque, egg toast and avocado toast are my favorite! The homemade banana bread with Chocolate chip is delish too!

I'm back in Maui and this is one of my go-to coffee shops. Today I got a Road to Hana iced latte and yes, I remembered why I love it so much. Definitely delicious, not strong, sweet. Service? Super friendly and polite, as I remembered. Now, this is a cute little drive-thru, so don't go expecting super quick, hasty service or a sit-down area. Be patient, relax. And they have a Christmas menu! I'm definitely coming back to try something from that.

Stopped by for an afternoon snack. The lady at the window was very friendly and handed our drinks down to our very low car. Drinks came out quickly. I got an iced latte which hit the spot.

Cute little coffee spot and the vibes were great. Service was good and coffee was great!

We were looking for a coffee spot after the airport and our driver had told us this was a good spot. It is a drive thru, in a small kiosk, look for the Home Depot. I would suggest looking up the menu beforehand since the menu is pretty small and you can only really see it when you're at the ordering window. There wasn't a line when we arrived but we definitely felt rush trying to order. The menu is small but they do have a list of specialty drinks available. I would say this place is good for sweeter coffee options. Service was ok. The drink was ok. Overall, If you want something sweeter and not so coffee forward, this is the place.

Located in the back parking lot of Home Depot It is drive thru only but the line moves fairly steady. The drive thru window is on both sides. Ordered THE HAWAIIAN HONEYBEE - who doesn't love espresso, honey, coconut, and vanilla. Very very good!

I was having coffee withdraws after my flight and this spot definitely was the perfect pick me up! The service was quick and friendly for a drive through. Although there is now seating the area and shop was cute! Certainly grabbing another coffee before I leave!!

Drive up, roll down the window, and grab the best Hawaiian Honeybee Latte at Akamai Coffee Co. So smooth, lightly sweet, and full of aloha. Love the convenience!

Honeybee latte with soy was delicious! The flavor that stood out the most was coconut but it was balanced in terms of sweetness :)

Amazing coffee and perfect for your on the go needs!!! A drive thru only location and the staff are so kind. I did pay $8 for a cold brew (the NOLA) but it's delicious, supporting local business, and fresh local ingredients :)

    Matcha and R2H
    Johanna B.

read so many good reviews and was excited about trying it out but was very disappointed. The taste of the coffee (R2H) was watery and burnt tasting and very bitter, the flavor of the macadamia nut was not very rich and it tasted just like bitter coffee and milk. The matcha also was so light in color and did not have much matcha taste at all. The drive through was nice but the area around it smelled really bad like trash that had been sitting out for a while. The service was also lacking. We gave $15 cash for two drinks and the barista did not give us any change... we were planning to give tip anyways but were surprised at the fact that she didn't even ask if we wanted change and felt entitled to take it when we hadn't told her it was her tip.

We had the Nutella and the Lilikoi, and they are absolute units--massive, beautiful and perfectly executed. The pastry is light and incredibly fluffy, but stays dense and decadent because they don't skimp on the filling (it's actually in the center, not just a garnish on top!). The Lilikoi was a total standout--bright, fresh, and perfectly tart. I found myself breaking off the flaky layers just to dip them into that golden center. If they sold it in jars, I'd be the first in line. If you're looking for the best bakery on the island, this is it! XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

I thought the shape of this croissant was funny and I did want to try something guava. I did find it to be dry and quite bready? I've never had the cube croissant before so perhaps this is just the style of them. I liked the guava filling but thought the cube croissant part was okay. It did seem like this one had more dough than filling. - Lilikoi Croissant (between $6 and $7) - I found that this croissant was not really flaky. There was a really good filling to croissant ratio in this one. However, I did appreciate the strength of the lilikoi flavor in this croissant, and the filling did taste fresh. - Macadamia Nut Latte ($6.85)- we both got ours iced, 12 ounce and with regular milk. We honestly enjoyed these lattes more than the croissants. The macadamia flavor came through quite strong (in a good way) and was pretty unique. There is a small parking lot and lots of seating inside. We saw a couple chickens wandering around outside when we grabbed our pastries.

You can tell they put real care into what they serve, and it shows in every sip. We ordered two lattes, one with brown sugar and one with vanilla, and both were amazing. He said it was one of the best he has ever had, and I have to agree -- buttery, flaky, and so fresh. The shop itself has such a fun, cozy vibe. There's even a swing inside, which adds such a unique and playful touch. It's the kind of place you actually want to hang out in, not just grab a coffee and go. Service was excellent. The barista was super friendly and even made the cutest latte art, which totally made my day. I ordered a 12 oz and loved that it came in a mug, while my husband got a 16 oz to-go. Between the amazing drinks, delicious pastries, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful service, it's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again. They have a pretty big menu with lots of drink options. They have coffee, tea, frappes, espresso frappes, hot chocolate, Italian cream sodas and smoothies.
