On a recent visit to Maui, I knew I wanted coffee and hearty food and this place popped up as recommended. Without the internet or a recommendation, I don't know how anyone would find this spot. It's in a little commercial area and is tiny inside. They have maybe six tables of various sizes and a bar along the windows. It's literally a mom-and-pop place, just an auntie and uncle running it, her in the front, and him cooking in the back. They have a fun eclectic collection of collections including money and map pins from around the world. She was super friendly in the front, sharing about all the things she's collected. Their menu is simple, pretty much eggs and meat. Everything is cooked to order and simply delicious. Coffee is a blend including locally sourced beans. Prices are reasonable but I wouldn't say cheap. It also seemed popular for large to go orders. It's worth checking out. read more

We were starving after landing in Maui and checked this place out as it seemed to offer food for my picky eater kids. The food was SO good, some of the best pancakes I've ever had! And portions were HUGE! We had a great home style breakfast, it felt like we were eating at grandmas house. It is a smaller restaurant, but the service is quick and tables open up fast. This is a nice, mom and pop ran coffee Cafe that is a little pricey but worth it. Not too much of these cafes are still in business. Simple menu with delicious breakfast. Its small but you can take your order on the go which is what I normally do. My favorite is the Eggs Benedict with hash brown and Canadian bacon. So glad I stumbled on this cafe. Owned by an Uncle and Auntie who are super sweet and kind. There's knick knacks from all over and a wall of foreign currency. It's just them that work there so don't be in a rush if you come here. Very generous portions and certainly worth the wait. read more

This is the cutest cafe! My boyfriend and i stopped here before heading to the airport on our way out of Maui and this couldn't have been a more perfect spot to have breakfast. We both got the banana pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon plate and it was a huge plate of yummy food! Just what we needed. The pancakes were the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had! We came here twice on our trip. Our first time we had the French toast and the biscuits and gravy. The food was plentiful and delicious. This time we had the sausage croissant and the blueberry pancakes combo. The food is incredible and the service is friendly and hospitable. We love the atmosphere as it is a small quaint cafe. The last 4 times I've show up here for lunch they've been closed before 1pm and once before 12pm. If I'm driving 30 minutes across the island to eat here at least change your hours so I don't expect a different result. That's basically 100% failure on 4 out of 4 chances for them to adhere to the hours they themselves have set. Their food is good but not worth the waste of gas money. Such a quaint and cute, and authentic place to stop for breakfast. This is not a glitzy or glamorous Hawaii breakfast - this is a homey mom and pop shop, interact with the owners, get a home-cooked meal type vibe. Which I LOVE! Early morning breakfast at this hidden local gem (in a strip mall) after an airport drop. Got the kimchi fried rice served with seaweed. Came out hot a delicious. Cook was very polite and a wizard for my meal. Not a lot of seating, but that's the charm of it all. Quaint and quiet. This little place oozes charm and homeliness. Korean leaning menu, the dumpling ramen is delish. When we were there for breakfast (failed Haleakala sunrise attempt) we were the first ones there and it quickly filled up with another couple on the bistro seating, and another table of friendly Korean ladies. I love diners and small family owned restaurants. Why? Because, usually, they try hard to make good food and serve their customers well. I thought this was going to be one of those places. First off, when you enter, there is a bucket holding open the door because water is dripping from above it. This didn't bother me much. It's a dive after all. It is very small, so my son and I opted to sit at the counter facing the parking lot. The woman working, I assume the owner, was nice enough. She took our order. My son got the special French toast. Basically, it was French toast with fruit on top. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Our order comes out. The French toast looked like it was just dipped in scrambled eggs. It was literally yellow. My son said that is exactly what it tasted like. Egg dipped bread. My eggs benedict came out with so much hollandaise sauce that you could barely see anything underneath it. It was edible, but not great. The hash browns were probably the worst I have ever had. They tasted like the freeze dried type you buy at Costco. Horrible. While we were there the family next to us was from the Big Island and they were saying how good everything was and how they came because of the Yelp reviews. I know they had the eggs benedict also. My son and I laughed outside because we were like that was one of the worst breakfasts we've ever had. The best thing was the oranges served as a garnish. Like I said, I feel bad when I have to give a mom and pop place a bad review, but I would also feel bad saying it was better than it actually was. If they could up their game, add some milk or cream to their French toast dip, make some real hash browns or at least frozen ones, not serve excessive amounts of hollandaise (and make better hollandaise), and basically serve good food, it would be an improvement. There aren't many breakfast sit down places in the area. They were nice enough people so service wasn't an issue. I will give a better rating when food may be okay but service is attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, that was the only thing acceptable about this. So, they get one star for the service and one star for the oranges and other fruit on top of the French toast. I know, I know. But, they chose the fruit, so that is worthy of a star. read more
